Kazuma Okamoto was scratched from the lineup for Monday’s game against the Red Sox with a left knee contusion.
Okamoto gets an opportunity to rest and recover with rookie Charles McAdoo taking over at the hot corner. The 30-year-old has really struggled at the plate since the All-Star break, which has pulled down his overall numbers, but he still has 24 homers in 116 games during his stateside debut. He’s been one of the few bright spots for the Blue Jays during a bizarre season. He’s day-to-day heading into the final three games of the series.
