Ramon Martinez is day-to-day after fouling a ball off his left foot during Wednesday’s game.
X-rays were negative. If the Dodgers don’t have either Jeff Kent or Martinez available on Thursday, they could go with Willy Aybar at second and Olmedo Saenz at third.

Red Sox optioned LHP Eduardo Rivera to Triple-A Worcester.
Rivera threw 3.1 scoreless innings in his one appearance last night, but the usage made him the obvious pitcher to send down as the Red Sox called up Peyton Tolle to start on Thursday. Rivera should make a return engagement to the Red Sox in the near future.
Giolito profiles as fantasy SP streamer with SD
Eric Samulski examines the ripple effects from Lucas Giolito signing with the Padres, sharing why the veteran starting pitcher shapes up as a fantasy streaming option.
  • BOS Starting Pitcher #70
Red Sox recalled LHP Peyton Tolle from Triple-A Worcester.
He’ll grab the start against the Yankees and, despite the tough matchup, should be an interesting streamer in shallow leagues. Tolle had a 3.00 ERA in three starts in Triple-A, striking out 19 and walking four in 15 innings. He hasn’t started since April 12, so he should be well-rested for this assignment.
  • AZ Left Fielder #12
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. is not in Arizona’s starting lineup for Thursday’s game against the White Sox.
Jorge Barrosa is playing in his stead. Gurriel Jr. had started each of the first four games since being activated from the injured list. The early results are an .063/.118/.063 line with no extra base-hits or steals. Not ideal, but not a surprising slow start after missing seven months with a torn ACL.
  • CWS Catcher #26
Edgar Quero is not in Chicago’s starting lineup for Thursday’s game against the Diamondbacks.
Quero has seen his playing time dry up a bit, and has now sat three of the last five games in favor of Reese McGuire. That’ll happen when you hit .161/.273/.179 in your first 19 games. Outside of dynasty leagues, Quero isn’t a must-hold — and he probably should be benched at this point in most fantasy formats.
  • LAD Catcher #16
Will Smith is not in Los Angeles’ starting lineup for Thursday’s game against the Giants.
Dalton Rushing has now started two of the last three games at catcher, and Smith has missed three of the last six games as Rushing tears the cover off the ball. It’s not ideal for either’s mixed league value, but it looks like Rushing has been given a little more of a foothold than he’d had earlier in April as the Dodgers try to get him involved.
  • HOU Center Fielder #16
Zach Cole (toe) is beginning a rehab assignment on Thursday in Single-A Fayetteville.
Cole broke his toe after being hit by a pitch in late March. This is his first game activity since. He’ll likely move back up to Triple-A and resume being useful depth for the Astros by the end of April or in early May.
  • COL Catcher #15
Hunter Goodman is not in Thursday’s starting lineup for the Rockies against the Padres.
Goodman is off to a .264/.340/.540 start with six homers in his first 24 games. Brett Sullivan will draw a day-game-after-a-night-game start at catcher against RHP Matt Waldron.
  • CWS Middle Reliever
White Sox recalled RHP Tyler Davis from Triple-A Charlotte.
He had a 1.09 WHIP and 4.91 ERA in six outings with Charlotte. The 27-year-old will likely only work in low leverage situations for the time being.
  • CWS Relief Pitcher #39
White Sox designated RHP Lucas Sims for assignment.
These things happen. The 31-year-old has a 4.5 ERA in 10 innings with the big league ballclub thus far, striking out 10 and walking seven. The journeyman has pitched for four teams since the start of the 2024 and may make it five if he opts out of an outright assignment or is claimed on waivers.
  • COL Relief Pitcher #54
Rockies recalled RHP Seth Halvorsen from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Halvorsen saved 11 games for the Rockies last year with a 4.99 ERA in 42 appearances, but has pitched for the Isotopes all season to date and would seem to be no threat to Viktor Vodnik at this time. The 26-year-old righty had a 1.80 ERA and two saves in nine appearance at Triple-A so far this year. He’ll be up while Jimmy Herget is on the paternity list.
