    Tim Healey of the Boston Globe reports that the Mets are hiring J.D. Martinez as a special advisor.
    Martinez has not played in the majors since 2024 when he was a member of the Mets, and this all but confirms his MLB career is over. The 38-year-old finishes his career with an .863 OPS, 1,741 hits and 331 homers over 14 seasons with six different clubs.

    Brady House is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s bout versus the Phillies.
    House has swung the bat well so far with an .824 OPS, but he’ll get a breather versus Andrew Painter in his MLB debut and the Philadelphia pitching staff. Jorbit Vivas will handle the hot corner and hit fifth while House rests.

    Jordan Beck is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday’s tilt against the Blue Jays.
    Beck will get a night off with Troy Johnston getting the start in right field and hitting sixth. So far, Beck has hit just .182 with a .580 OPS over his 13 plate apperances.

    Everson Pereira is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Marlins.
    Pereira will get a day off after starting the season 4-for-14 (.286) with an impressive .905 OPS. He’ll get a break with Tristan Peters getting the start in right against Jason Junk and the Miami bullpen.

    Steward Berroa (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Nashville.
    Berroa was placed on the injured list just before the start of the regular season with a shoulder strain. The 26-year-old isn’t a lock to see time with the Brewers after the rehab assignment concludes, but could be a bench option at some point.

    Rob Zastryzny (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignt with Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday.
    Zastryzny is on the injured list with a left shoulder strain. The 34-year-old will likely make a few appearances with the Sounds, and then could pitch in the middle of the Milwaukee bullpen in the next few weeks if the assignment goes well.

    Quinn Priester (thorasic outlet syndrome) will throw a bullpen Tuesday.
    According to Jack Stern of Brewer Fanatic, Priester will have two “ups” and throw 20 pitches. The right-hander will then head to Arizona, and is set to begin a rehab assignment in the early portion of April. Assuming no setbacks, he should be back for the Brew Crew by the early portion of May.

    Jacob deGrom will start on Tuesday against the Orioles.
    The veteran was scratched from his start over the weekend with a stiff neck, but rather than wait till his next turn the rotation, the Rangers will send him to the mound tonight. Make sure he’s in your lineups in all league types. Kumar Rocker will start on Wednesday.
