Oscar Tejada hit his first homer and walked twice Thursday for low Single-A Greenville.

The two walks may be just as notable, as he had only two in 123 at-bats entering the game. The 18-year-old is hitting .232/.258/.304 on the season. It’s rather surprising that the Red Sox didn’t demote him with the short-season leagues having started, though Ryan Dent’s presence at Lowell may have something to do with that. Tejada is one of the team’s most promising prospects, but he’s barely holding his own in the Sally League.
