White Sox reassigned LHP Aaron Poreda, 1B Ben Broussard, INF Gordon Beckham and INF Eider Torres to minor league camp; optioned RHP Adam Russell and RHP Ehren Wassermann to Triple-A Charlotte.
Poreda was given a long look, but he didn’t deserve a job after giving up nine runs and posting a 7/7 K/BB ratio in 13 innings. Beckham greatly impressed, hitting .270/.325/.568. The White Sox are planning on leaving him at shortstop for now, and he’ll be a regular there in Double-A. The demotions of Russell and Wassermann suggest that Mike MacDougal has a legitimate shot to reclaim a spot in the White Sox pen. Also, Jack Egbert is still hanging around.

Giants placed RHP Logan Webb on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to May 6, with right knee bursitis.
Webb was expected to make his next start Monday after dealing with the knee last time out, but given his struggles this season, a two-start break seems like a better idea. Trevor McDonald will fill in for him Monday against the Dodgers.
Cubs would be 'in shambles' without Imanaga
James Schiano discusses Shota Imanaga's performance against the Cincinnati Reds and how the pitcher has shaken off a rough end to the 2025 season.

Giants selected the contract of C Logan Porter from Triple-A Sacramento.

The Rays will go with Saturday’s scheduled starter, Nick Martinez, on Sunday after a rainout against the Red Sox, pushing Drew Rasmussen back to Monday.
Rasmussen will be pitching in Toronto, rather than in Boston. but that probably doesn’t make much of a difference. The Red Sox currently rank 24th in MLB in runs per game, while the Blue Jays are 26th. Shane McClanahan should follow Rasmussen on Tuesday.
  • SD Right Fielder #23
Fernando Tatis Jr. is back up to second in the San Diego lineup for Saturday’s game against the Cardinals.
He’s batting right in between Jackson Merrill and Manny Machado, as the Padres are again making changes after losing in a one-hit shutout Friday. Tatis, who had hit fifth the last three times the Padres faced righties, is 3-for-23 with no RBI in his last six games. He has one RBI in his last 16 games.
  • DET Catcher #13
Dillon Dingler is starting at DH on Saturday for the second time this season.
Dingler was due for a break after catching four games in a row, but it’ll only be a partial one. The Tigers have Kerry Carpenter at DH and Wenceel Pérez on the bench tonight.

Saturday’s game between the Rays and Red Sox has been postponed due to inclement weather.
The official announcement came just minutes before first pitch at Fenway Park. The two teams ultimately decided not to start up the contest and risk a washout by the middle innings based on the local forecast. It’ll be made up as a doubleheader on July 17. It’s a tough break for Payton Tolle’s fantasy managers as it was setting up as an extremely favorable matchup for Boston’s top pitching prospect. The 23-year-old southpaw will presumably be pushed back to Sunday instead, and could theoretically operate in a tandem role with Brayan Bello. We’ll see. Nick Martinez, today’s scheduled starter, will pitch Sunday for the Rays.
  • COL Relief Pitcher #54
Rockies recalled RHP Seth Halvorsen from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Halvorsen returns to Colorado’s bullpen with veteran reliever Jimmy Herget away from the club on bereavement leave for the next couple days. The 26-year-old reliever has tossed a pair of scoreless frames in two appearances for the Rockies this season at the highest level. He notched a career-high 11 saves for Colorado last year.
  • COL Relief Pitcher #44
Rockies placed RHP Jimmy Herget on the bereavement list.
Herget will be away from the club for the next couple days on bereavement leave. The 32-year-old has posted a 5.40 ERA across 15 innings this season. He’s allowed at least two runs in each of his past three appearances.
  • SEA 3rd Baseman #33
Brendan Donovan is not in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the White Sox.
No surprise here as the Mariners are probably going to be cautious with his workload after Donovan returned from the injured list for Friday’s series opener. The 29-year-old infielder went 1-for-5 before being lifted for a defensive replacement in the eighth inning. It’ll be Leo Rivas taking over at the hot corner in this one.
