Ricky Romero allowed two runs on six hits in nine innings on Monday, but had to settle for a no-decision in Toronto’s 3-2, 10-inning win over the Angels.
Romero struck out five and walked none in his third nine-inning effort of 2011. Both runs came on solo homers. He’ll bring a 2.98 ERA and 1.14 WHIP into his Saturday outing against the Rays, which should be his final start of the season.

Carmen Mlodzinski allowed five runs while striking out ten batters over 5 2/3 innings in a win over the Reds on Saturday.
Mlodzinski surrendered two runs in the first inning on a walk and two doubles. A solo homer by Will Benson brought in a third run before he stranded the bases loaded in the second inning. Mlodzinski tossed a clean third, striking out the side. He gave up one run on two hits in the fifth and left with a runner on and two outs in the sixth. The inherited runner would come in to score. Mlodzinski struck out ten on 17 whiffs. The 27-year-old right-hander will carry a 4.50 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, and a 40/13 K/BB ratio across 34 innings into a start against the Giants in San Francisco next Friday.
Rutschman putting up 'star caliber' statistics
James Schiano breaks down Adley Rutschman's performance in his six games since returning for the Orioles from the IL, in which he has put up an impressive performance with four home runs and 14 RBIs.

Rhett Lowder allowed eight runs over 1 1/3 innings in a loss against the Pirates on Saturday.
This was one Lowder will want to forget. The Pirates were all over him in the first inning, putting up five runs on five hits and a walk. He recorded the first out in the second and walked three straight batters to load the bases before he was relieved by Connor Phillips, who allowed all three inherited runners to score. Lowder came into the day with a 3.18 ERA and leaves with a 5.09 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, and a 26/14 K/BB ratio across 35 1/3 innings. He’ll take on the Cubs in Chicago on Thursday.
  • HOU Relief Pitcher #58
Cody Bolton will start Sunday’s game against the Red Sox.
Bolton will make his first start since coming off the injured list Thursday. The right-hander will likely get no more than a couple turns through the lineup, and there should be better fantasy option for those looking for a streamer.
  • HOU 1st Baseman #8
Christian Walker (head) told reporters that he believes he’ll be ok to play against the Dodgers on Sunday.
Walker underwent concussion tests after being hit in the head by a 93 mph fastball. The 35-year-old appears to be ok, but fantasy managers shouldn’t be stunned if Houston gives him a day to recover, either.
  • CLE 2nd Baseman #87
Travis Bazzana went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one steal, and one walk in Cleveland’s 14-6 win over the Athletics on Saturday.
Bazzana started his season hitless over his first three games. His first career hit would come with the bases loaded, a ground ball up the middle to score two runs. He then swiped second for his first career stolen base. The 23-year-old second baseman has a solid prospect profile across the board, while not excelling in one area, probably best suited for deeper OBP leagues, given his strong plate discipline.
  • CLE 1st Baseman #9
Kyle Manzardo went 1-for-1 with a three-run homer against the Athletics on Saturday.
Manzardo had gotten the day off with a lefty on the mound for the A’s. He entered the game as a pinch hitter in the eighth inning and took Luis Morales deep for a three-run blast. It was the second home run of the season for Manzardo. He’s struggled over the first month, slashing .187/.272/.275 with ten RBI across 103 plate appearances.
  • ATH Catcher #23
Shea Langeliers went 3-for-5 with two homers and three RBI against the Guardians on Saturday.
Langeliers has been scorching at the plate over the last week, with Saturday’s three-hit game his fifth multi-hit contest in seven games. He got the scoring started with a two-run homer off Slade Cecconi in the first inning, then added a solo homer in the fifth for his second of the game. Langeliers later singled in the seventh for his third hit. The 28-year-old catcher is hitting an incredible .336/.390/.627 with ten homers, 24 runs scored, and 18 RBI across 146 plate appearances.
  • CLE Starting Pitcher #44
Slade Cecconi allowed five runs while striking out three batters over 5 1/3 innings in a win against the Athletics on Saturday.
Cecconi served up a two-run homer to Shea Langeliers in the first inning. Three base hits would bring another run in to score in the fourth. Langeliers would get to Cecconi again with a solo blast in the fifth. A single, a double, and a sacrifice fly made it five runs against Cecconi before he was relieved with one out in the sixth at 69 pitches. He struck out three, picking up his first win with 14 runs of support. The 26-year-old right-hander will take a 6.56 ERA, 1.57 WHIP, and a 28/13 K/BB ratio across 35 2/3 innings into a start against the Royals in Kansas City on Thursday.
  • ATH Starting Pitcher #57
Jacob Lopez allowed six runs with five strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings in a loss against the Guardians on Saturday.
Lopez tossed two scoreless innings before Austin Hedges took him deep for a solo homer in the third. The Guardians would break through with four more runs in the fifth on four hits and a sacrifice fly. Lopez would return for the sixth and surrendered a solo homer to David Fry to lead off the inning. He recorded one out, then was relieved at 96 pitches. He struck out five. The 28-year-old left-hander will take a 6.60 ERA, 1.90 WHIP, and a 23/22 K/BB ratio across 30 innings into a start against the Orioles in Baltimore on Friday.
  • FA Left Fielder #74
Eloy Jiménez elected free agency after refusing an outright assignment to Triple-A Buffalo.
Jiménez went 9-for-31 before being designated assignment to make room for George Springer on the active roster before Wednesday’s game. There likely will be interest on the market, but Jiménez will almost assuredly be looking at another minor league pact.
