Alex Presley went 3-for-4 with a homer, a double and three runs scored in the Pirates’ 17-6 rout of the Twins on Thursday.

Jose Tabata opened the spring as the Pirates’ leadoff hitter, with Presley batting second, but those two have switched roles recently. It shouldn’t make a whole lot of difference for either the Pirates offense or for fantasy leaguers, as both are expected to be full-timers regardless. Presley is having a terrific spring so far, having hit .429 with two homers in 28 at-bats.

Chase Burns delivered an outstanding performance in a no-decision against the Pirates on Sunday, racking up seven strikeouts over seven scoreless frames.

The 23-year-old hurler allowed just three hits and one walk in the ballgame. Unfortunately for Burns and his fantasy managers, the Reds were unable to scratch out a single run of support for him and he had to settle for a no-decision. He piled up 18 swings and misses on 94 pitches on the day — 12 of those on his slider — while registering a strong CSW of 33 percent. He’ll carry an impressive 2.20 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and a 46/13 K/BB ratio (41 innings) into Friday’s battle against the Astros.

Luke Keaschall

MIN 2nd Baseman #15

Luke Keaschall went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, an RBI and a run scored as the Twins eked out a 4-3 victory over the Blue Jays on Sunday afternoon.

Keashall smacked an RBI double in the fifth inning that increased the Twins’ advantage to 2-0. He then came around to score on a run-scoring double off the bat of Kody Clemens. He’s having a rough time overall at the dish this season, slashing an underwhelming .223/.280/.300 with one homer, 15 RBI and seven stolen bases in 143 plate appearances.

Justin Topa

MIN Relief Pitcher #48

Justin Topa served up a two-run homer in the ninth inning on Sunday, but managed to escape with a save in a one-run victory over the Blue Jays.

Topa came on with a comfortable 4-1 lead to protect in the ninth, but things tightened up quickly as Kazuma Okamoto crushed a one-out, two-run homer to make it a one-run game. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Jesus Sanchez then followed with singles to put the tying run in scoring position before Lenyn Sosa bounced into a game-ending double play. Trying to speculate on save chances in the Twins’ bullpen is a fool’s errand.

Andrew Morris

MIN Relief Pitcher #78

Andrew Morris did a terrific job in emergency action on Sunday, firing 3 2/3 innings of scoreless baseball against the Blue Jays.

Morris allowed just two hits and one walk on the afternoon while recording three strikeouts. He came on in the first inning after Joe Ryan left due to elbow soreness and kept the Jays off the board through the fourth. Morris generated eight swings and misses on 57 offerings in the ballgame, posting a CSW of 30 percent. He now holds a 4.80 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and a 13/4 K/BB ratio over 15 innings on the season.

Kazuma Okamoto

TOR 3rd Baseman #7

Kazuma Okamoto blasted a two-run homer in the ninth inning on Sunday, but it wasn’t enough to power the Blue Jays past the Twins.

Okamoto had an incredible weekend in Minneapolis, crushing a pair of home runs on Friday night before leaving the yard one time each on Saturday and Sunday. The 29-year-old slugger finished the day 1-for-4 plus a walk and is now hitting .236/.319/.472 with nine homers and 22 RBI in his first season stateside.

Trey Yesavage

TOR Starting Pitcher #39

Trey Yesavage pitched well in a losing effort against the Twins in Sunday afternoon, piling up six strikeouts over four innings of one-run baseball.

Yesavage scattered five hits on the day while also issuing three free passes. The lone tally against him came on an RBI single off the bat of Victor Caratini in the first inning. He threw 82 pitches (52 strikes) in the ballgame, getting 15 whiffs and posting a strong CSW of 33 percent. He’ll carry an impressive 0.96 ERA 1.29 WHIP and a 9/3 K/BB ratio (9 1/3 innings) into Saturday’s matchup against the Angels.

Luis García Jr.

WSH 1st Baseman #2

Luis Garcia Jr. was pulled from Sunday’s showdown against the Brewers due to soreness in his right wrist.

It’s unclear when exactly he sustained the injury, but it’s not believed to be serious. If fantasy managers are relying on Garcia for next week, it may be wise to have a contingency plan in place in the event that he’s forced to miss any time.

Ben Rice

NYY 1st Baseman #22

Ben Rice was removed from Sunday afternoon’s battle against the Orioles due to a left hand contusion.

Rice suffered the injury while fielding a pickoff throw from Max Fried in the third inning. Fortunately, preliminary X-rays came back negative for any fractures. He’s considered day-to-day. Prior to exiting, Rice had been 2-for-2 with a homer, double and two runs scored.

Ranger Suarez

BOS Starting Pitcher #55

Ranger Suarez was removed from Sunday’s start against the Astros due to an apparent injury.

With Sonny Gray and Garrett Crochet already shelved, the last thing that the Red Sox needed was another injury in their starting rotation. Suarez had been cruising too, allowing just three hits and a walk over four scoreless frames to start the game. Expect the Red Sox to provide an update on his status shortly.
