Rangers manager Ron Washington indicated that it’s unlikely Robbie Ross will come out of the bullpen to fill Alexi Ogando’s (groin) spot in the rotation Saturday.
Ross was a logical choice, as he’s started throughout the minors and threw four innings in relief of Ogando Sunday, but Washington likes him where he is. “Without Ogando down there, he’s the magical piece,” the manager said. “He can do a lot of things. I want him to stay in the bullpen.” It’s still up in the air as to who the Rangers will use Saturday, but it won’t be Roy Oswalt, as he’s starting for Double-A Frisco Tuesday and will need at least one more minor league start after that.
