Mets purchased the contract of RHP Jeff Walters from Double-A Binghamton.
Walters enjoyed a big year as a closer in Double-A this past season, putting up a 2.09 ERA, 38 saves, and a 60/16 K/BB ratio over 56 innings. The 26-year-old isn’t far away from making an impact in the major league bullpen.

Rockies’ manager Warren Schaeffer told reporters on Friday that the MRI on the injured elbow of Ryan Feltner came back clean.
He’s just dealing with a bit of inflammation, and the Rockies are hopeful that he’ll be able to return after a minimum stint on the injured list. You can never be too sure with elbow injuries, but it sounds like barring any setbacks he should be ready to rejoin the Rockies’ rotation at some point in May.
Who will play shortstop for Mets with Lindor hurt?
James Schiano talks about the "suddenly surging" Mets, analyzing how they will recover from "ironman" Francisco Lindor suffering a calf strain and sharing why New York is "in a bit of a pickle" at the shortstop position.
  • TOR Right Fielder #38
Nathan Lukes was removed from Friday night’s battle against the Guardians with an apparent injury.
Lukes smacked a double into the right field corner in the home half of the first inning but pulled up lame at second base, prompting a visit from the training staff. After a very quick discussion, the decision was made to pull him from the game. It appeared to be some sort of issue with his right leg. Look for the Blue Jays to provide an update on his status as soon as more information becomes available.
  • CHC 2nd Baseman #12
Cubs optioned INF/OF Scott Kingery to Triple-A Iowa.
Kingery had been functioning in a reserve role for the Cubs, being used almost exclusively as a pinch-runner and late-game defensive replacement. That was until he made a couple of errors during Thursday’s game that nearly cost the Cubs the game. Nicky Lopez was promoted from Triple-A to take his place on the active roster.

Cubs transferred RHP Porter Hodge to the 60-day injured list.
Nothing has changed in the prognosis for Hodge, who will undergo season-ending surgery on his right elbow. This was done as a procedural move to free up a spot on the team’s 40-man roster for the addition of Nicky Lopez on Friday.
  • CHC 2nd Baseman #12
Cubs selected the contract of INF Nicky Lopez from Triple-A Iowa.
The 31-year-old infielder will join the Cubs’ active roster after being acquired from the Rockies on Thursday. He’ll primarily serve as a defensive replacement and pinch-runner, the role that Scott Kingery had prior to making a couple of errors during Thursday’s contest and being optioned to Triple-A Iowa. He can be ignored for fantasy purposes.
  • CIN 3rd Baseman #28
Eugenio Suárez was held out of the Reds’ starting lineup on Friday night due to pain in his mid back.
It doesn’t sound like anything overly concerning, so the 34-year-old slugger should be considered day-to-day. Ke’Bryan Hayes will man the hot corner and bat ninth for the Reds while Nathaniel Lowe functions as the designated hitter against Framber Valdez and the Tigers on Friday evening in Cincinnati.
  • TOR 3rd Baseman #47
Addison Barger (ankle) has continued to ramp up his baseball activity at the team’s spring training facility in Dunedin.
He continues to progress in his recovery from a left ankle sprain. The next steps will be for him to run the bases and face live pitching. Once he clears those hurdles, he’ll need at least a few games on a minor league rehab assignment before he’s ready to return to the Blue Jays. It sounds like he could be back in the middle of May barring any setbacks from here on out.
  • TOR 2nd Baseman #48
Blue Jays designated INF Tyler Fitzgerald for assignment.
The Blue Jays needed to free up a spot on their 40-man roster following the acquisition of Willie MacIver from the Rangers on Friday afternoon and unfortunately for Fitzgerald he drew the short straw. There’s a decent chance that the 28-year-old infielder will pass through waivers unclaimed and continue to function as extra infield depth at Triple-A Buffalo.
  • TOR Catcher #47
Blue Jays acquired C Willie MacIver from the Rangers for cash considerations.
The 29-year-old backstop was then optioned to Triple-A Buffalo. He’ll add some much needed catching depth in the organization while Alejandro Kirk is shelved. Tyler Fitzgerald was designated for assignment in a corresponding move to clear a spot on the Jays’ 40-man roster.
  • ATL Relief Pitcher #26
Braves’ manager Walt Weiss told reporters on Friday that they’re hopeful Raisel Iglesias (shoulder) will be able to return from the injured list when first eligible.
The 36-year-old hurler has yet to resume throwing, but the Braves have been encouraged by his progress and don’t believe that he’ll be facing an extended absence. Robert Suarez will continue to hold down the fort in the ninth inning in the meantime.
