Naver Sports in Korea reports that right-hander Suk-Min Yoon is in negotiations with two major league teams and could sign with one of them soon.
The 27-year-old has received four offers but has narrowed the field to two. It’s not clear which two clubs they are, but the Cubs, Twins and Red Sox have all been connected to Yoon. The right-hander could potentially be used as a back-end starter or reliever in the big leagues.

Nick Fortes went 4-for-4 with two doubles and three runs scored as the Rays held off the Red Sox 7-5 on Wednesday.
Fortes couldn’t quite muster a homer, with 406- and 399-foot flies both going for doubles, but it was still quite a day. It’s the second time in 454 major league games that he’s managed four hits and the seventh time that he’s scored three runs. He had seven hits in all in the series against Boston, raising his OPS from .585 to .664.
Freeman continues to add to legacy with 2,500 hits
Eric Samulski discusses Freddie Freeman's latest milestone after collecting his 2,500th career hit, putting him in elite company and strengthening his path toward Cooperstown.
  • TB Starting Pitcher #57
Drew Rasmussen fanned a career-high 13 over seven scoreless innings in defeating the Red Sox on Wednesday.
Rasmussen had just one previous 10-strikeout game, finishing with exactly 10 against the Yankees on Sept. 9, 2022. He got 20 missed swings and allowed just two hits and two hard-hit balls today. The Red Sox swung at 15 of the 23 four-seamers he threw and racked up eight whiffs without ever putting any of them in play. Rasmussen has pitched seven scoreless innings in three of his last four starts and is 6-2 with a 2.71 ERA on the season. He’ll face the Dodgers next week.
  • TB Relief Pitcher #60
Garrett Cleavinger allowed one run in the ninth while claiming his second save Wednesday against the Red Sox.
Bryan Baker and Kevin Kelly had the day off after pitching both Monday and Tuesday. Cleavinger got the ninth as a result. He gave up a solo homer to Caleb Durbin, but he had a three-run cushion to work with. He has a 4.70 ERA and eight holds over 17 appearances in his setup role.
  • BOS Starting Pitcher #64
Jake Bennett yielded four runs in five innings Wednesday in a loss to the Rays.
Bennett pitched well, but things fell apart after a leadoff double in the fifth. A bunt single, an infield single and then an infield double followed; the last hit bounced off Bennett’s leg and into no man’s land on the left side of the infield. The Rays scored three of their four runs in the frame. Bennett struck out four and his only walk was intentional. He made a case for sticking around in Brayan Bello’s spot, but the Red Sox do have some flexibility here with Thursday and Monday as off days. If they stay in rotation, then Bennett would face the Blue Jays next Wednesday.
  • TB Designated Hitter #2
Yandy Díaz went 3-for-5 with two RBI from the leadoff spot Wednesday against the Red Sox.
Díaz already has four three-hit games this month. He leads the AL and is fourth in the majors with a .331 average. He’s fourth in both the AL and the majors with a .940 OPS.
  • BOS 3rd Baseman #5
Caleb Durbin went 3-for-4 and delivered his second and third homers of the year Wednesday against the Rays.
Where did that come from? Both homers were no doubters to left, with the first checking in at 415 feet. That’s 29 feet farther than his previous long fly this year. The 107.7 mph it left the bat at was also a season high. It’s Durbin’s first two-homer game as a major leaguer. He’s hit .341 with eight extra-base hits in his last 12 games, so playing time is no longer a question for him at the moment. He still might offer some fantasy value in deeper leagues.
  • SEA 2nd Baseman #1
Mariners optioned INF Ryan Bliss to Triple-A Tacoma.
Bliss went 1-for-6 during a pair of contests during his latest stint with the Mariners, which wound up lasting roughly 48 hours. His return to the minors coincides with versatile Miles Mastrobuoni returning from the injured list for his season debut.
  • SEA Relief Pitcher #61
Mariners designated RHP Yosver Zulueta for assignment.
Zulueta never wound up making an appearance for Seattle after being acquired from the Reds in a trade back in January. The 28-year-old righty figures to pass through waivers unclaimed since he holds a pedestrian 5.32 ERA and 25/11 K/BB ratio across 23 2/3 innings at the big-league level since 2024.
  • BAL Catcher #35
Adley Rutschman (hamstring) and Samuel Basallo (wrist) are not in the lineup on Wednesday against the Mariners.
This will be the third straight game that both players miss. As of now, there is no indication that either one of them will need to go on the injured list, but that could change if these injuries linger. Sam Huff will catch and bat ninth on Wednesday, while Taylor Ward will be the DH, and Tyler O’Neill will play right field and bat eighth.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher #59
Evan Phillips (elbow) threw a scoreless inning for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday.
The 31-year-old allowed one hit, one walk, and hit a batter while striking out one. It wasn’t a flawless outing, but Phillips has now thrown 2 2/3 scoreless innings at Triple-A while walking three, striking out three, and allowing two hits. He will need a couple more appearances as he continues to shake the rust off in his return from Tommy John surgery.
