The left-hander has gone 2-0 with a 1.35 ERA over his last three starts. Guerrero now has 10 wins with a 9.12 K/9 across two minor league levels. The 21-year-old has tallied at least seven punch-outs in three of his last four outings and has lasted seven innings or more in eight of 21 starts this season.

The X-rays on the injured foot of Brewers’ outfielder Jackson Chourio came back negative for any fractures on Saturday.

The dynamic 22-year-old fouled a ball off of his foot during a minor league rehab game at Triple-A Nashville on Saturday. Fortunately, he was able to avoid any significant injury. They’ll wait and see how he feels and progresses on Sunday before making a determination on whether or not he’ll be activated from the injured list for Sunday’s series opener against the Cardinals in St. Louis.

Cubs designated RHP Yacksel Rios for assignment.

The Cubs needed to clear a spot in their bullpen for the return of Daniel Palencia on Sunday and it looks like Rios pulled the short straw this time. The 32-year-old hurler appeared in just one game during his time with the club, striking out two batters over 1 2/3 innings of scoreless baseball. It’s possible he could pique another team’s interest on waivers.

Cubs activated RHP Daniel Palencia from the 15-day injured list.

The Cubs’ bullpen has been decimated by injuries, so getting their closer back should go a long way towards stabilizing things at the back end. Before landing on the injured list with a lat strain, the 26-year-old flame-thrower had fired five scoreless innings with a 1.00 WHIP and a 5/2 K/BB ratio while converting his lone save chance.

Astros optioned RHP Jayden Murray to Triple-A Sugar Land.

The Astros needed to clear a spot on their active roster for the return of Ryan Weiss on Sunday and unfortunately Murray was the odd man out this time around. The 29-year-old right-hander holds a 6.00 ERA, 2.00 WHIP and a 5/5 K/BB ratio over six innings in four appearances with the Astros this season.

Astros activated RHP Ryan Weiss from the paternity list.

Weiss rejoins the Astros’ bullpen after welcoming a new addition to his family. The 29-year-old hurler has really struggled in his first eight appearances (two starts) for the Astros, posting a 6.65 ERA, 1.99 WHIP and a 25/16 K/BB ratio over 21 2/3 innings.

Yandy Díaz (oblique) remained out of the Rays’ starting lineup for Sunday afternoon’s tilt against the Giants.

It’s the second straight start that the 34-year-old slugger has missed after exiting Friday’s game with tightness in his oblique. The Rays still seem optimistic that it’s a minor issue and won’t require a trip to the injured list, but oblique injuries are notoriously tricky and can tend to linger. Fantasy managers may want to have a contingency plan in place in the event that Díaz isn’t able to go next week.

Christian Walker

HOU 1st Baseman #8

Christian Walker (head) returned to the Astros’ starting lineup for Sunday’s matchup against the Red Sox.

Walker was removed from Saturday’s contest after he was drilled in the head by a 93-mph fastball. He passed all of his concussion tests without issue though and is feeling much improved on Sunday. He’s back in there at first base and batting cleanup against Red Sox’ southpaw Ranger Suarez.

George Springer

TOR Right Fielder #4

George Springer (toe) is not in the Blue Jays’ starting lineup for Sunday’s series finale against the Twins in Minneapolis.

Springer was hit by a pitch on his left foot during Saturday’s game, though X-rays revealed no new damage, just the fracture in his left big toe that he has already been dealing with. The 36-year-old outfielder was going to sit on Sunday even before he made an early exit from Saturday’s game, so there’s no additional reason to worry here. He’s considered day-to-day.

Reds recalled RHP Zach Maxwell from Triple-A Louisville.

The 25-year-old hurler will add a fresh arm to the Reds’ bullpen while Pierce Johnson is away on bereavement leave. Maxwell really struggled through his first 12 appearances at the Triple-A level, registering a 5.91 ERA, 1.88 WHIP and a 17/8 K/BB ratio across 10 2/3 innings.

The 34-year-old hurler will be away from the team for a couple of days. Johnson has been a capable addition to the Reds’ bullpen this season, compiling a 4.15 ERA 1.46 WHIP and a 13/4 K/BB ratio over his first 13 innings. Zach Maxwell was recalled from Triple-A Louisville in a corresponding move.
