Red Sox signed 1B Josh Ockimey to a minor league contract.
Ockimey turned 25 in October and batted .204/.353/.459 with 25 homers over 122 games during his last game action with Triple-A Pawtucket in 2019. He’ll serve as upper-level depth for Boston next year.

Rangers manager Skip Schumaker said Brandon Nimmo is day-to-day after X-rays came back negative on his right ankle.
Schumaker added that Nimmo is dealing with a sprained ankle but didn’t suffer any fractures. It sounds like there’s a chance he avoids the injured list, but the Rangers are probably going to give him a couple days off to rest and recover. The 33-year-old veteran outfielder was 3-for-4 with a run scored before spraining his ankle on a close play at first base during the sixth inning of Tuesday’s game against Arizona. There should be an update on his status prior to Wednesday’s showdown.
Bolte a volatile prospect for Athletics outfield
Eric Samulski explains Henry Bolte's outlook in the MLB with the Athletics calling up the outfielder prospect from the minors.
  • DET Shortstop #7
Kevin McGonigle went 2-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base against the Mets on Tuesday.
After facing some adversity for the first time at the big league level, McGonigle has his average back up to .300 and is riding a three-game hitting streak. The 21-year-old shortstop was on base three times and stole his sixth base in Tuesday’s loss to the Mets. He was stranded on the bases all three times as the Tigers managed to record 10 hits but only scored two runs.
  • NYM Center Fielder
A.J. Ewing went 1-for-2 with three walks, a triple, two runs, two RBI and a stolen base against the Tigers on Tuesday.
Ewing is looking at everyday at-bats with the Mets dealing with injuries in the outfield. He made a good impression on Tuesday as he was on base four times in the win over the Tigers. In the seventh inning, he had a moment he’ll never forget when he roped a line drive to right field for a triple for his first MLB hit. It traveled at 104 mph exit velocity. Ewing had only two home runs in the minor leagues, but can still provide value with a good average and speed.
  • TEX Left Fielder #20
Ezequiel Duran went 2-for-3 with a home run, three runs scored, and two RBI to lead the Rangers to a 7-4 win over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
Duran drew a walk and scored a run in the second inning, then took Zac Gallen deep for a solo homer in the fourth. He followed with a base hit in the fifth to drive in a run before scoring for a third time. The versatile 26-year-old has taken advantage of consistent playing time over the last several weeks. He’s slashing .296/.369/.480 with three homers, 16 runs scored, 15 RBI, and four steals across 112 plate appearances.
  • AZ 1st Baseman #6
Ildemaro Vargas went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI against the Rangers on Tuesday.
Vargas put the Diamondbacks on the board with a solo homer in the second inning off MacKenzie Gore. It was the only run Arizona could score until the ninth. Vargas knocked a single with the bases loaded to drive in a run before the D-backs ultimately fell short in their comeback effort. The 34-year-old infielder is enjoying a career year, slashing .336/360/.575 with seven homers, 22 runs scored, and 26 RBI across 141 plate appearances.
  • TEX Relief Pitcher #67
Jacob Latz pitched the ninth inning to record the save against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
The Rangers went into the top of the ninth inning with a six-run lead. Gavin Collyer had started the frame to close it out, but issued three walks and a base hit to allow a run in with no outs. Latz took over and recorded the final three outs to end the game with his fifth save of the season. The 30-year-old left-hander has settled into the Rangers’ closing role, posting a 0.83 ERA, 0.42 WHIP, and a 17/4 K/BB ratio across 21 2/3 innings.
  • DET Starting Pitcher #9
Jack Flaherty allowed three runs in 3 2/3 innings and took the loss against the Mets on Tuesday.
Flaherty gave up six hits, walked three and struck out two. He fell to 0-4 with the loss. Whatever magic Flaherty had in 2024 when he was a worthwhile contributor to both the Tigers and Dodgers is gone. His ERA went from 3.17 to 4.64 in 2025 and now it’s 5.73. He’s walked 29 batters in 37 2/3 innings and been too hittable when he does throw it over the plate. Flaherty’s lined up to face the Blue Jays on Sunday, but can’t be trusted in fantasy leagues at the moment.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher #1
MacKenzie Gore allowed one run and struck out five batters over eight innings in a win over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
Gore put together his best start of the season on Tuesday, dominating the Diamondbacks over a career-high eight innings. He scattered three hits and one walk, giving up one run on a solo homer by Ildemaro Vargas in the second inning. He tossed 63 of 95 pitches for strikes, striking out five batters on eight whiffs. The 27-year-old left-hander will take a 4.50 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, and a 53/22 K/BB ratio across 48 innings into a start against the Rockies in Colorado on Monday.
  • AZ Starting Pitcher #23
Zac Gallen allowed seven runs with four strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings in a loss against the Rangers on Tuesday.
Gallen served up a solo homer to Joc Pederson in the bottom of the first inning. A walk, a hit batter, and a base hit put a second run on the board for the Rangers in the second. Ezequiel Duran made it three with a solo blast in the fourth. Gallen ran into more trouble in the fifth. Texas brought two more runs in before he was relieved with two runners on and two outs in the frame. Both inherited runners would come in to score. The 30-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 5.23 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, and a 29/14 K/BB ratio across 43 innings. He’ll look to bounce back against the Giants in Arizona on Monday.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher #51
Freddy Peralta allowed two runs in six innings and got the win in the Mets’ 10-2 victory over the Tigers on Tuesday.
Peralta gave up seven hits, walked one and struck out seven. He improved to 3-3 with the win. The 29-year-old right-hander has a 3.10 ERA, so he hasn’t been the problem for the 16-25 Mets, who are still in last place in the NL East. Peralta is lined up to face the Yankees at home on Sunday.
