Dodgers re-signed C Tony Wolters to a minor league contract.
Wolters was released by the Dodgers last week after going unclaimed on waivers and has elected to re-unite with the organization as emergency catching depth.

Brayan Bello will start Thursday’s series finale against the Orioles.
It’s a tad perplexing that the Red Sox are going to switch things up after Bello continued to have success pitching behind an opener recently. The 27-year-old righty has done so in four of his last five outings and boasts a microscopic 0.71 ERA across 25 1/3 innings as a reliever this season. He’ll make a traditional start at Fenway Park on Thursday afternoon.
Judge seeing specialist for 'nagging' rib bruise
The New York Yankees could be facing time without reigning AL MVP Aaron Judge, who is seeing a specialist for an upper rib bone bruise he is thought to have suffered May 3.
  • NYY Right Fielder #99
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Aaron Judge (ribs) will undergo additional imaging.
“We just want clarity on exactly what we’re dealing with,” said Boone. It’s challenging to speculate on Judge’s next steps until the club determines the severity of the bone bruise in his rib cage that has resulted in shoulder soreness for the last couple weeks. The 34-year-old generational talent has missed two straight games and was sent to see a specialist on Wednesday. The odds of a trip to the injured list feel exponentially higher than earlier this week. There should be some much-needed clarity on his status at some point ahead of Thursday’s series finale against the Guardians.

Payton Tolle earned the win in Wednesday’s 8-1 victory over the Orioles, throwing six scoreless frames while striking out five.
Tolle allowed seven hits and two walks in the outing but most importantly kept Baltimore off the scoreboard. He threw a career-high 99 pitches, lowering his ERA to 2.28 for the season. The rookie southpaw continues to impress with a fastball-heavy approach, including his new sinker. He next lines up for a road matchup in Tampa Bay.
  • BOS Right Fielder #52
Wilyer Abreu went 2-for-5 with a homer and three RBI as the Red Sox took down the Orioles 8-1 on Wednesday night.
Abreu connected for a two-run homer in the third off Chris Bassitt, his first since May 8. The lefty-swinging outfielder began the season on a tear but cooled in May. The Red Sox certainly hope he’s ready to go on another hot streak, as he continues to play every day and bat third. Abreu has lowered his strikeout rate in 2026, helping his batting average but hurting his power so far.
  • BOS 3rd Baseman #5
Caleb Durbin went 2-for-4 with a stolen base, a double, an RBI, and two runs scored as the Red Sox defeated the Orioles 8-1 on Wednesday.
All nine batters in Boston’s lineup recorded at least one hit. Meanwhile, the performance extended Durbin’s hit streak to six games. It’s still been a trying season for the former Brewer, but it’s a start. Durbin has one home run and is 5-for-7 on the bases heading into Thursday’s matinee.
  • BAL Left Fielder #3
Taylor Ward went 3-for-4 with three singles and a run scored as the Orioles fell to the Red Sox 8-1 on Wednesday.
It’s been a fascinating season for Ward, whose walk rate has exploded as Baltimore’s leadoff hitter. He was at 11% with the Angels last season, and it’s now near 20%. His strikeout rate has also fallen, but it has cost him in the power department, as he has just two home runs through June 3. Ward has started all but one game for the Orioles, consistently hitting first or second. As a result, he has 37 runs scored compared to just 17 RBI.
  • BAL Starting Pitcher #40
Chris Bassitt was removed from Wednesday’s start against the Red Sox with lower back tightness.
Bassitt was lifted after throwing just 56 pitches (35 strikes) over three innings. He was charged with three runs. The 37-year-old veteran is tentatively scheduled to face the Mariners on Monday in his next outing. There should be a decision on his status at some point later this week.
  • ATH Starting Pitcher #40
Luis Severino has been diagnosed with a strain of the shoulder capsule and subscapularis muscle.
Severino will be reevaluated in 4-6 weeks after receiving a PRP injection in his shoulder later this week. The 32-year-old is facing a lengthy absence and won’t make it back to the Athletics’ rotation mix until the second half of the year. He’ll need several weeks to build up his arm strength and stamina once he’s cleared to start a throwing progression.
  • CIN Starting Pitcher #25
Reds manager Terry Francona confirmed Rhett Lowder (shoulder) will be activated to start on Sunday against the Cardinals.
Lowder gets the ball this weekend after striking out eight and allowing three runs over five innings during his final minor league rehab start for Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday. The 24-year-old former top pitching prospect posted a serviceable 5.40 ERA across eight starts this season before hitting the injured list with a shoulder issue back on May 13.
  • PHI Starting Pitcher #61
Cristopher Sánchez was fantastic in Wednesday’s 3-2 win over the Padres, tossing seven innings of one-run ball while striking out eight and allowing one walk.
Sánchez extended his consecutive scoreless streak to 50 2/3 innings before Jackson Merrill delivered an opposite-field base hit in the seventh, one of just four he allowed on the evening. The streak finishes as the fifth-longest in baseball since 1920, including the longest by a lefty. He fell shy of matching Orel Hershiser’s 59-IP record, but he still holds a 1.46 ERA and sits at the center of this year’s National League Cy Young race. He’ll look to continue that bid in his next outing, a road game in Toronto.
