Reds declined their $13 million mutual option on LHP Mike Minor for the 2023 season.
Minor will receive a $1 million buyout and head to free agency after posting a calamitous 6.06 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 76/40 K/BB ratio across 98 innings (19 starts) last year with the Reds. The 34-year-old veteran lefty is capable of soaking up inning, but hasn’t been a relevant fantasy contributor since the 2019 campaign.

Kerry Carpenter came out of Saturday’s game because of left shoulder soreness.
Carpenter was hurt running into the side wall on Bobby Witt Jr.'s inside-the-park homer and is probably going to be day-to-day. It might be best if he DH’s a little bit, opening up some more starts for Wenceel Pérez.
Cubs would be 'in shambles' without Imanaga
James Schiano discusses Shota Imanaga's performance against the Cincinnati Reds and how the pitcher has shaken off a rough end to the 2025 season.
  • DET Right Fielder #30
Kerry Carpenter left Saturday’s game against the Royals after two innings with an apparent injury.
Carpenter might have been hurt running into the side wall down the right field line while bungling Bobby Witt Jr.'s inside-the-park homer. Wenceel Pérez replaced him.
  • TOR Starting Pitcher #56
Eric Lauer is expected to work as a bulk guy behind Spencer Miles against the Angels on Sunday.
Lauer has gotten to start his last three times out after complaining about the bulk role following an Apr. 17 outing, but not against the Angels. Lauer has a 1-3 record with a 6.15 ERA in his six starts this year.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #58
After using six starters next time through the rotation, the Mariners intend to have Luis Castillo and Bryce Miller piggyback later this month.
Presumably, that would begin on May 19. It wouldn’t be surprising it if also ends on May 19. The Mariners don’t want to disrespect Castillo, but the 33-year-old only held it together last year because of his home ballpark and that still hasn’t been enough this season with his career-worst 19 percent strikeout rate and 33 percent groundball rate. He has a 6.29 ERA through seven starts. At least this arrangement is good for Emerson Hancock, who no longer has to worry about his spot. Miller still figures to be quite useful in the long run.
  • BOS Starting Pitcher #70
The Red Sox will start Payton Tolle on Sunday against the Rays after his scheduled outing Saturday was rained out.
That’s all Boston has announced so far. Brayan Bello was slated to start Sunday, but since the club has Monday off, it’s possible he could be pushed back further than Tuesday.
  • MIA Left Fielder #28
Kyle Stowers went 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored, and two RBI to lead the Marlins to an 8-7 win over the Nationals on Saturday.
Stowers broke out with his best game at the plate, starting with a double in the first inning. He then took Zack Littell deep for a two-run blast in the fourth for his first home run of the season. Stowers later added a single and a run scored in the eighth. The 28-year-old slugger is hitting .239/.320/.343 with one homer, ten runs scored, and three RBI across 75 plate appearances.
  • MIA Center Fielder #87
Jakob Marsee went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer against the Nationals on Saturday.
After drawing a walk in the sixth inning, Marsee took Mitchell Parker deep for a three-run homer in the eighth. He needed that one as Marsee has struggled mightily at the dish so far. It was his first home run since April 19 and second of the season. He’s slashing .178/.297/.274 with 21 runs scored, 13 RBI, and ten steals across 173 plate appearances.
  • WSH Right Fielder #29
James Wood went 2-for-3 with a home run and two runs scored against the Marlins on Saturday.
Wood opened the scoring with a leadoff home run off Jansen Junk in the first inning, a 109.6 mph blast at 442 feet. He then drew a walk in the second, was hit by a pitch in the seventh, and doubled and scored a run in the ninth. The 23-year-old outfielder is hitting .243/.395/.526 with 11 homers, 35 runs scored, 28 RBI, and seven steals across 190 plate appearances.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher #26
Janson Junk surrendered four runs and struck out six batters over six innings in a no-decision against the Nationals on Saturday.
Junk served up a solo homer to James Wood to open the game. Three more hits would bring another pair of runs in before Junk could escape the first inning. The Nationals plated one more run in the third on a triple and a sacrifice fly. Junk settled in to give the Marlins three more scoreless innings, ending his day after six with six strikeouts. The 30-year-old right-hander will take a 3.25 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and a 33/10 K/BB ratio across 44 1/3 innings into a start against the Rays in Tampa Bay on Friday.
  • WSH Starting Pitcher #18
Zack Littell gave up three runs -- two earned -- over four innings of relief in a no-decision against the Marlins on Saturday.
Richard Lovelady had opened the game with two scoreless frames, striking out three. Littell took over in the third and surrendered a two-run homer to Kyle Stowers in the fourth inning. Miami would bring one more unearned run in to score in the sixth before Littell’s day was done. The 30-year-old right-hander holds an uninspiring 6.94 ERA, 1.60 WHIP, and a 17/13 K/BB ratio across 36 1/3 innings. His next outing is scheduled to come on Friday at home against the Orioles.
