    Nationals released LHP Seth Romero.
This comes after Romero was arrested for driving while intoxicated and possessing a controlled substance on Sunday in Sweeny, Texas. It was his second DWI arrest of the year, and he’s had other concerning off-field issues in the past. The former first-round pick (25th overall in 2017) hasn’t appeared in the majors since his brief debut during the pandemic-affected 2020 season, and now his baseball career would appear to be very much in jeopardy at age 26.

Braves recalled RHP Anthony Molina from Triple-A Gwinnett
    Molina has a 4.50 ERA in 14 Triple-A innings this year with a 10/4 K/BB ratio. He has a 6.96 career ERA in 94 1/3 MLB innings.
Robert Jr. placed on 10-day IL with back issues
James Schiano discusses Luis Robert Jr. making another trip to the injured list and what that means for the floundering Mets.
  • ATL Relief Pitcher #65
Braves recalled RHP Hunter Stratton from Triple-A Gwinnett
Stratton has a 4.50 ERA in 12 innings in Triple-A this season with an 18/9 K/BB ratio. He has a 3.80 ERA in 59 career MLB appearances, mostly with the Pirates.
  • TEX Left Fielder #36
Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reported that Wyatt Langford (forearm) is not expected to be activated from the injured list this weekend.
That had been the expectation, but Langord played in a rehab game in Arizona on Thursday night and felt some “residual soreness” in his forearm. The setback isn’t expected to be a long one, maybe a couple of days, but it will mean that Langford is unlikely to return for this weekend series against the Blue Jays.
  • AZ Relief Pitcher #55
Diamondbacks recalled LHP Brandyn Garcia from Triple-A Reno
Garcia has a 2.19 ERA with an 18/10 K/BB ratio in 12 1/3 innings in Triple-A. He has real swing-and-miss stuff, but his lack of command will keep him in the middle innings for now.
  • AZ Relief Pitcher #50
Diamondbacks optioned LHP Philip Abner to Triple-A Reno
Abner threw 2 1/3 innings on Thursday, allowing two runs on one hit. The Diamondbacks will get a fresh arm up in the bullpen, but the 23-year-old should get another chance later this season.
  • AZ Catcher #66
Diamondbacks designated C Aramis Garcia for assignment.
With Gabriel Moreno (oblique) back from the injured list, the Diamondbacks no longer needed Garcia on the active roster. He went 1-for-3 in three appearances for Arizona this year.
  • AZ Catcher #14
Diamondbacks activated C Gabriel Moreno (oblique) from the 10-day injured list.
Moreno wound up missing a little over two weeks with his oblique injury. He should return right back into the Diamondbacks’ lineup, but doesn’t need to be rostered in fantasy leagues outside of two-catcher formats since he’s a bit of an empty batting average.
  • DET Shortstop #38
Tigers acquired SS Zack Short from the Nationals for cash considerations.
The Tigers made a deal to bring back Short, presumably for some extra insurance at shortstop with Javier Báez (ankle) sidelined for an extensive period of time. Short will likely serve as a backup and remains off the fantasy radar.
  • WSH Relief Pitcher #32
Nationals signed RHP Max Kranick to a one-year deal.
The deal is pending a physical. The 28-year-old underwent flexor tendon surgery in August, but has been throwing for teams this spring. He posted a 3.65 ERA over 37 innings with the Mets last year and should provide depth in the Nationals’ bullpen.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #57
Coleman Crow threw 5 2/3 shutout innings for Triple-A Nashville on Thursday, allowing one hit and striking out seven.
Crow made an impressive MLB start on April 17th, but his first start back in Triple-A after that was less than ideal. It’s nice to see him bounce back here. The 25-year-old has a 5.40 ERA in 25 Triple-A innings with a 30/11 K/BB ratio. He remains a name to monitor if Brandon Woodruff has to go on the injured list because he does have one good MLB start to his name, and he’s currently lined up on the exact same pitching schedule as Woodruff is.
