Guardians sent C Eric Haase outright to Triple-A Columbus.
Haase has the option to elect free agency after passing through waivers unclaimed over the weekend. The 30-year-old backstop might opt to stick around with Cleveland as emergency catching depth moving forward just in case.

Athletics activated C Shea Langeliers from the paternity list.
Langeliers is back after three days away and presumably will start against the Phillies tonight, though the A’s have yet to reveal their lineup.
Snelling has upside to become top-50 fantasy SP
James Schiano shares what fantasy managers can expect from Marlins' top prospect Robby Snelling ahead of his first career MLB start on Friday, explaining why he has the chance to rapidly ascend fantasy ranks.

Athletics designated C Austin Wynns for assignment.
Wynns had to know he was losing his spot when the A’s acquired Jonah Heim, but he stuck around for a few extra days with Shea Langeliers going on the paternity list. Now that Langeliers is back, Wynns is gone. The 35-year-old was off to a 3-for-39 start at the plate this year, giving him a .077/.143/.077 line.
  • NYY Left Fielder #24
Jasson Domínguez is undergoing an MRI on his left shoulder and is in concussion protocol after crashing into the wall in the first inning of Thursday’s game against the Rangers.
Pretty much as expected. Odds are that Domínguez is going to wind up on the IL even if the news on his shoulder isn’t the worst-case scenario. It’ll be interesting to see if that leads to the debut of Spencer Jones, who is hitting .258/.366/.592 with a 32 percent strikeout rate in Triple-A. If the Yankees don’t think he’s ready, perhaps they’d go to Yanquiel Fernández. They could also bring back Anthony Volpe and play José Caballero in the outfield, but that seems unlikely.
  • PIT Relief Pitcher #57
Pirates placed RHP Chris Devenski on the 15-day injured list with an illness.
Devenski was supposed to return today from a two-game suspension for hitting Sal Stewart, but he’ll be down for at least a couple of weeks. The veteran has given up two runs and five hits in 2 1/3 innings for the Pirates.
  • PIT Starting Pitcher #64
Pirates recalled RHP Cam Sanders from Triple-A Indianapolis.
Sanders gave up four runs in three innings in three appearances with the Pirates last month. He’ll rejoin the bullpen.
  • CWS Relief Pitcher #49
White Sox optioned RHP Jordan Leasure to Triple-A Charlotte.
The move makes room for the newly acquired Trevor Richards. It’s Leasure’s first minor league demotion since the end of the 2024 season. One of the White Sox’s most reliable relievers while picking up seven saves last year, he’d given up five homers in 16 1/3 innings this season, resulting in a 6.06 ERA.
  • CIN 3rd Baseman #28
Eugenio Suárez will undergo an MRI on Friday to check on the progress of his oblique strain.
Suárez, who said he’s been swinging at 60-70 percent, is hoping to be cleared to begin activities at full strength. “I hope I start doing more on the field tomorrow, like BP, fielding with my team,” Suárez said. “I feel very well doing my stuff here. We have to make sure it’s healing really well to do it 100 percent.”
  • PIT Designated Hitter #24
Marcell Ozuna is on the bench Thursday with Oneil Cruz serving as a DH against the Diamondbacks.
Jake Mangum gets the start in center. Ozuna takes a seat even though he is off to a nice start in May, having gone 6-for-19 with a homer, five RBI and three walks in five games.
  • DET Starting Pitcher #29
According to the New York Post’s Jon Heyman, Tarik Skubal is aiming to return in just four-to-six weeks after having one loose body removed from his elbow on Wednesday.
Heyman, who presumably received word from Skubal’s agent, Scott Boras, says the surgery “was such a success [that Skubal] could start working out within days.” Skubal was not placed on the 60-day IL, so a June return might be possible.
  • CIN 1st Baseman #27
Sal Stewart is playing second base for the fifth time this season Thursday against the Cubs.
Stewart now has some extra eligibility and value in a bunch of leagues. The Reds have Matt McLain at shortstop and Elly De La Cruz at DH today. Spencer Steer is playing first base,
