Cropley gets the call back to the majors with Salvador Perez landing on the 7-day concussion injured list ahead of Monday’s series opener against the Guardians. The 27-year-old backstop was up briefly earlier this month, but didn’t end up appearing in a game for Kansas City.

It’ll be Jarren Duran in left field again on Wednesday night in Detroit. No surprise here since Anthony traveled back to Boston to undergo further evaluation earlier this week. The 21-year-old phenom has been diagnosed with a right wrist sprain and is day-to-day heading into Thursday’s series opener against the Rays at Fenway Park. All indications are that he will avoid a trip to the injured list, but that isn’t a surefire lock. There should be a more definitive update on his status at some point later this week.

There’s been no indication that Rice is headed to the injured list as he continues to receive treatment for a left hand bruise that he suffered over the weekend. There should be a clearer picture regarding his availability leading into Thursday’s series finale. It’s possible the Yankees are merely handling the situation with an abundance of caution to make sure Rice, who is rapidly blossoming into one of the elite sluggers in baseball, is fully healthy before he returns to the lineup. It’ll be veteran Paul Goldschmidt taking over at first base to face Rangers ace Nathan Eovaldi on Wednesday night.

Gray returns to Boston’s rotation to take the ball for Wednesday’s series finale in Detroit following a two-week absence recovering from a hamstring strain. The 36-year-old veteran has compiled a pedestrian 4.30 ERA and 13/5 K/BB ratio over 23 innings this season, but he’s a worthwhile option in all fantasy formats, especially in a favorable road matchup. The big question is whether the Red Sox are going to ship top pitching prospect Payton Tolle, or fellow rookie Jake Bennett, back to the minors with Gray back in the rotation.

Nimmo is back in right field and hitting leadoff after missing two of Texas’ previous three games due to a lingering hamstring issue. The hope for the Rangers, and fantasy managers, is that the extra time off enabled him to finally put the issue to bed.

Gómez heads to Minnesota after being jettisoned from Tampa Bay’s relief mix over the weekend. The 26-year-old has struggled to an inflated 6.23 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 13/10 K/BB ratio across 17 1/3 innings over nine appearances this season. He’ll operate in long relief for the Twins.

The Rays turned to Bryan Baker in the eighth inning to face the top of the Toronto lineup, and he set them down in order while recording one strikeout. That meant Seymour was given the ninth inning, even though Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was leading. The decision may not have been the same had the Rays not had a three-run cushion, but Seymour struck out Vladdy and then retired the next two hitters he saw on lineouts. This was the left-hander’s first save of the season, but it’s unclear if there will be many more.

Corbin walked two and struck out one, but posted just a three percent swinging strike rate and an 18 percent CSW in this one. He got to two strikes on just 23 percent of the hitters he faced, which is almost half of his season-long rate. With that said, it was great news that he was able to avoid more damage being done on all the contact he allowed. He’ll face these same Rays at home next week.

McClanahan has not allowed a run in his last 16 2/3 innings. On Wednesday, he allowed just two hits and one walk while striking out four. He threw 67 percent of his pitches for strikes and posted a 15 percent swinging strike rate and 35 percent CSW. The left-hander threw only eight pitches to left-handed hitters in this game, but posted a 22 percent swinging strike rate on his changeup and dominated with a curveball that had a 78 percent strike rate, 50 percent CSW, and 22 percent swinging strike rate. McClanahan may not have the top-tier fastball that he did prior to his injury, but that pitch remains good enough, and he has good enough secondaries to remain a strong starting pitcher. He’ll face these same Blue Jays on the road in Toronto next week.

Jung was called up on April 29th when Javier Baez (ankle) went on the injured list, but was sent back to Triple-A on May 3rd when Zack Short was called up from Triple-A. Now, Jung will get another shot with Gleyber Torres (oblique) landing on the injured list.
