  • TEX Third Baseman #71
Rangers optioned INF Jonathan Ornelas to Triple-A Round Rock.
With Josh Jung returning from the injured list on Monday night, there simply wasn’t room on the bench for the 23-year-old infielder. Ornelas went 1-for-7 (.143) with a pair of runs scored in his limited action with the big league club.
  • CWS Center Fielder #88
Luis Robert Jr. left Sunday’s game due to right knee soreness.
The fantasy superstar injured his knee while making a not-so-pretty slide into second base in Sunday’s game against the Red Sox. He will be evaluated further when the team returns to Chicago on Monday. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for the time being.
  • CWS Center Fielder #88
Luis Robert Jr. was replaced by Trayce Thompson in the second inning of Sunday’s contest against the Red Sox.
Robert Jr. made a not-so-pretty slide into second base to pick up his 20th swipe of the season. He was looked over by training staff and didn’t return to the field in the bottom of the second inning. The team should update his status soon. Stay tuned.
  • TB Third Baseman #2
Yandy Díaz left Sunday’s game with an apparent leg injury.
Díaz appeared to tweak something in his legs while running out a single in the first inning of Sunday’s contest against the Blue Jays. After the team saw the injury was still bothering him in the second, he was taken out of the game. We should find out more about his condition soon.
  • CLE Catcher #23
Bo Naylor (thumb) is not in the Guardians’ starting lineup for Sunday’s contest against the Orioles.
The young backstop will miss his second game in a row after suffering a contusion on his right thumb. David Fry will handle catching duties on Sunday, and fantasy managers should consider Naylor day-to-day for now.
  • HOU Left Fielder #23
Michael Brantley remains out of the Astros’ lineup for Sunday’s showdown against the Royals.
The veteran outfielder will miss his fifth game in a row with general soreness. With how much time he missed earlier this season, the team will unlikely put him back in the lineup before he is ready.
  • OAK Left Fielder #5
Tony Kemp (ankle) is not in the Athletics’ starting lineup for Sunday’s contest aginst the Tigers.
Kemp sprained his right ankle during Friday’s game, and he will miss his second game in a row with the injury. Esteury Ruiz will patrol left field while batting leadoff in his place.
  • PIT Starting Pitcher #70
Pirates recalled RHP Osvaldo Bido from Triple-A Indianapolis.
The 27-year-old returns to the majors for the final week of the season. He posted a 6.36 ERA and 1.54 WHIP across 46 2/3 uninspiring innings with the big league club earlier this season. He will likely pitch in low-leverage situations while he remains with the team.
  • PIT Starting Pitcher #70
Pirates placed RHP Bailey Falter on the 15-day-injured list with a left neck strain.
Falter was destroyed by the Reds on Saturday, allowing eight runs on nine hits but came away with a no-decision after the Reds’ bullpen imploded in the game’s final frames. The injury effectively ends his season, and he’ll head into the winter with a 5.36 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, and 60/20 K/BB ratio over 80 2/3 innings.
  • ARI Second Baseman #4
Ketel Marte was scratched from Sunday’s lineup due to an illness.
Marte was expected to lead off on Sunday against the Yankees but wasn’t feeling 100 percent. Geraldo Perdomo will slide over from shortstop to second base, with Jordan Lawlar starting at shortstop. Fantasy managers should consider Marte day-to-day for now.
  • SD Third Baseman #13
Manny Machado is not in the Padres’ starting lineup for Sunday’s showdown against the Cardinals.
Machado, who has been regulated to designated hitter duty since late August, will take a seat for Sunday’s finale in San Diego. The 31-year-old is expected to have offseason surgery to address a nagging elbow issue over the winter, but fantasy managers shouldn’t be surprised if he takes off more time over the final week of the season. Xander Bogaerts will get a start as the Padres designated hitter in his absence.
