Braves’ skipper Brian Snitker told reporters on Tuesday that Max Fried (finger) will return to the Braves’ rotation on Thursday against the Nationals.
Fried had his last start pushed back a few days due to a hot spot on his finger, but it sounds like he’s doing much better now, as they caught the issue before it became a blister. On the season, the 29-year-old southpaw holds an 8-1 record, 2.64 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and a 73/17 K/BB ratio across 71 2/3 innings in 13 starts on the season.

Hoffman gave the Phillies 1 1/3 scoreless innings Sunday, but the team will option the 28-year-old to Triple-A with Jonathan Bowlan (groin) ready to come off the injured list.
  • COL 2nd Baseman #3
Willi Castro is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Reds.
Castro, 29, has not been able to play since Thursday because of soreness in his right knee. The veteran infielder will take a seat with Edouard Julien once again starting at second base and hitting leadoff.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher #45
Mets recalled RHP Christian Scott from Triple-A Syracuse.
Scott takes the roster spot of Kodai Senga, with Senga hitting the injured list with spine inflammation. The 26-year-old could get a chance to be a starter in the coming days, but also could offer the Mets a multi-inning arm in Senga’s absence.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher #34
Mets placed RHP Kodai Senga on the 15-day injured list with lumbar spine inflammation.
Senga has really struggled in 2026, and after allowing three runs and going just 2 2/3 innings against the Rockies on Sunday, he now has an ERA of 9.00 on the season. The spinal injury will keep him out at least two weeks, but a better idea of when Senga will be able to return to the New York rotation.
  • NYM Center Fielder #88
Luis Robert is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Nationals.
Robert, 28, has not had much success at the plate as of late, and his OPS has dropped to .656 with a .224 average. He’ll get a day off with Carson Benge moving to center field and MJ Melendez getting the start in left.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #21
Rockies activated LHP Kyle Freeland off the 15-day injured list.
Freeland is back to make the start against the Reds on Tuesday. The 32-year-old would be a risky streaming option against the Cincinnati lineup, and will be a risky option against the majority of other lineups as well.
