Lance Lynn allowed two runs over six innings with four strikeouts on Friday in a win over the Giants.

Lynn battled some control issues early, walking the first two batters of the game before Wilmer Flores drove in a run with a base hit. Flores would get to Lynn once again in the third with a solo homer. Lynn would settle in for three more scoreless innings, striking out four batters over six frames to earn the win. The 36-year-old right-hander ends the regular season with a 5.73 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, and a 191/67 K/BB ratio across 183 2/3 innings.

Mick Abel

MIN Starting Pitcher #20

Mick Abel (elbow) felt soreness after throwing a simulated bullpen on Saturday and received a cortisone shot in his tricep.

Abel had originally gone on the injured list with elbow inflammation, so the fact that he’s now feeling tricep soreness is not the best news. The Twins will evaluate him next Tuesday, and we’ll have a better sense of when/if he may return.

Colt Emerson

Mariners SS prospect Colt Emerson went 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored, and three RBI for Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday.

Emerson had been dealing with a wrist injury near the end of April, but he now has two home runs in May and five on the season, which makes us feel good about his overall health. He’s still hitting just .241 with a .799 OPS, and J.P. Crawford is hitting the ball well at the big league level, so there’s likely a little more time until we see a call-up.

Carlos Lagrange

NYY Starting Pitcher

Yankees RHP prospect Carlos Lagrane allowed five runs on five hits in 4 1/3 innings for Triple-A Scranton Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday.

Lagrange struck out eight, but he walked three and allowed three home runs on the day. The 22-year-old has intriguing upside, but has a 4.76 ERA in 28 1/3 Triple-A innings this season. His 13.3 percent walk rate is also too high, so there are some continued kinks to work out.

Justin Slaten

BOS Relief Pitcher #63

Justin Slaten (oblique) threw a scoreless inning for Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday.

Slaten allowed one hit and walked one batter, but struck out two and threw 11 of his 18 pitches for strikes. He will likely need another game or two before rejoining Boston’s bullpen.

Henry Bolte

ATH Outfield

Athletics OF prospect Henry Bolte went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI for Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday.

Bolte is hitting .295/.376/.518 with eight home runs, 35 runs scored, and 15 steals in 33 games at Triple-A. Last season, he hit nine home runs in 114 games while stealing 44 bases. Some of that power boost could be the hitter-friendly environment in Las Vegas, but the Athletics also play their home games in a minor league stadium. Given that Bolte has experience at all outfield positions, you have to wonder when the Athletics may give him a chance at the big league level.

Luis Lara

MIL Outfield

Brewers OF prospect Luis Lara went 1-for-4 with a solo home run for Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.

The 5'7" Lara is now up to seven home runs in 33 games at Triple-A. He hit just six home runs combined in 246 games over the last two years. The 21-year-old has a 43 percent hard-hit rate this season and is elevating the ball more than he has before. He also has 12 steals in 33 games and has stolen at least 40 bases in each of the last two seasons. If the power gains stick, he could become a really interesting fantasy player.

Emmanuel Rodriguez

MIN Center Fielder #33

Twins placed OF prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez on the minor league injured list with a left thumb strain.

Rodriguez was injured on Friday while sliding into first base. There’s no timeline for his return, but thumb strains can keep hitters out for over a month. Even though the injury is not severe, it could delay Rodriguez’s potential MLB debut until later this season.

Addison Barger

TOR Right Fielder #47

Addison Barger (ankles) went 1-for-4 with a solo home run for High-A Dunedin on Wednesday.

It was the second home run Barger has hit on his current rehab assignment. The 26-year-old will play one more rehab game on Thursday and then is expected to rejoin the Blue Jays on Friday. Even though he was off to a slow start to the season, he’s worth grabbing if you need power since he figures to play against all right-handed pitching and hit in the middle of the Blue Jays’ lineup.

Brendan Beck

NYY Starting Pitcher #75

Yankees recalled RHP Brendan Beck from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Beck has been used as a starting pitcher in Triple-A, but he will likely serve as a bulk reliever with the Yankees. The 27-year-old has a low 90s fastball and has posted a 5.11 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and 37/8 K/BB ratio in 37 innings. If he gets into a game, it will be his MLB debut.

Gerrit Cole

NYY Starting Pitcher #45

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Gerrit Cole (elbow) needs “at least a couple more” rehab starts.

Boone specifically mentioned two or three more starts. Cole threw 69 pitches in his last rehab start but allowed five runs over 4 1/3 innings at High-A on Tuesday. The Yankees are obviously taking a longer view with their 35-year-old starting pitcher, which makes sense. He might return by the end of May, but early June is likely the better bet.
