Miles Mikolas finished the 2023 campaign on a high note on Sunday, racking up 10 strikeouts over seven innings of three-run baseball in a victory over the Reds.
The 35-year-old right-hander scattered seven hits on the afternoon and didn’t walk a batter. He served up a solo homer to Nick Martini in the opening inning, an RBI double to Elly De La Cruz in the third and a run-scoring double to Stuart Fairchild in the seventh. Mikolas generated 19 whiffs on 90 pitches on the afternoon — nine of them on his heater — while registering an elite CSW of 40 percent. He finishes the season with a 9-13 record, 4.78 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and a 137/39 K/BB ratio over 201 1/3 innings in his 35 starts.
