  • SD Right Fielder #23
Fernando Tatis Jr. went 2-for-6 with a double, one run scored, and an RBI against the Tigers on Wednesday.
After going hitless in his first game off the injured list on Monday, Tatis Jr. got his first hit of Wednesday’s game in the fifth inning with a double before scoring on a single by Manny Machado. He later delivered the walk-off hit in the tenth, a base hit to score Jackson Merrill from second to end the game. The 25-year-old outfielder is hitting .277/.349/.462 with 14 homers, 51 runs scored, 37 RBI, and eight steals.

Adrian Morejon picked up a save in the Padres’ extra-inning win over the Giants on Sunday.
Morejon has just his second save of the year. It came with a run allowed in the 10th, but it was the unearned runner that starts extra innings on second base. Morejon has been a solid part of the San Diego bullpen, but probably won’t get many save chances in the future.
  • SD Relief Pitcher #75
Robert Suarez blew a save but got a win after allowing a run in the Padres’ extra-inning win over the Giants on Sunday.
Suarez gave up the first ever homer to a right-handed hitter that landed in the splash area by Heliot Ramos, and more importantly, it tied the game at 2-2 and gave Suarez his fifth blown save of the year. It also gave him his ninth win of the season, as the Padres scored two in the top of the tenth. Even with a handful of blown saves, Suarez has undoubtedly been a success story as the stopper for the Padres.
  • SF Center Fielder #17
Heliot Ramos hit a game-tying homer in the ninth inning, but the Giants fell to the Padres 4-3 in 10 innings Sunday.
Not only did Ramos tie the game at 2-2 in the ninth inning, he became the first ever right-handed hitter in the history of Oracle Park to hit a splash homer into right field. Incredible. Ramos has hit 21 homers in his first full season as a starter, and the 25-year-old has had more than enough good moments to suggest a massive fantasy future for the outfielder in the coming years.

Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a go-ahead pinch-hit homer to tie the game in the Padres’ win over the Giants on Sunday in 10 innings.
Tatis Jr. began this game on the bench, but the 25-year-old came up huge with a solo shot in the eighth inning off Tyler Rogers. The 25-year-old star has been able to homer 18 times and drive in 45 runs despite missing significant time, and four of those homers have come in September.
  • SD Starting Pitcher #54
Martin Pérez allowed just one run over five innings, but he didn’t pick up a decision Sunday against the Giants.
New dad strength? Pérez blanked the Giants over the first five innings in his first start back from the paternity list. He did give up a solo homer to Donovan Walton in the sixth, however, and that prevented him from picking up a win as it tied the game at 1-1. As usual, the 33-year-old didn’t miss many bats with just two strikeouts, but he was effective just the same. Pérez will be back on the bump Saturday against the lowly White Sox.
  • SF Relief Pitcher #65
Landen Roupp threw five shutout innings but didn’t pick up a decision Sunday against the Padres.
Roupp and Martin Pérez both put up zero-for-zero before Roupp left the contest, so it’s a hard-luck no decision. The rookie right-hander was making just his second ever MLB start, and in those two outings he’s allowed just two runs over 10 innings. Roupp has also been effective as a multi-inning reliever, but obviously his fantasy value — limited as it may be either way — is exponentially higher if he can be a part of the rotation.
  • LAA Center Fielder #16
Mickey Moniak has been diagnosed with a hand contusion after leaving Sunday’s game against the Astros.
Moniak exited the game after being hit by a pitch in the eighth inning. The outfielder was replaced by Michael Stefanic (calf) in the contest, and he’s already undergone initial imaging. For now, Moniak should be considered day-to-day, but more info will likely come Monday.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #68
George Kirby allowed one hit over seven innings and combined with Matt Thornton and Eduard Bazardo on a 7-0 shutout of the Rangers.
The three pitchers combined to face the minimum, as the lone hit, an Ezequiel Duran single, was followed by a double play. Kirby struck out only three today, but he also allowed just three hard-hit balls. Kirby is now 6-0 with a 0.92 ERA in eight career starts against the Rangers. He’s 12-11 with a 3.62 ERA overall this year.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher #44
Andrew Heaney surrendered three runs over five innings Sunday in a loss to the Mariners.
The Rangers had won Heaney’s last four starts, but the offense never had a shot today. Heaney allowed seven hits, walked one and struck out three. He’ll probably face the Mariners again next Sunday, but since Texas is using a six-man rotation, he won’t be matched up against George Kirby again. Alas, that’ll be Bryan Woo instead doesn’t make a win much more likely.
  • SEA Catcher #18
Mitch Garver went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer against the Rangers in a win Sunday.
Garver’s last three appearances, which have taken place over a 12-day span, have seen him knock in a total of nine runs. The Mariners haven’t done much lineup tweaking of late, but maybe they’ll start getting Garver more time to see if he can stay hot. It’s especially likely to happen if Victor Robles is sidelined for any length of time.
