Olson had an RBI double off Jack Flaherty in the first inning that was just a few feet shy from being a home run. In the sixth inning, Olson cleared the bases with a three-run double off Ryan Brasier. He’s been heating up at the plate lately. Olson is quietly 26-for-86 (.302) with four home runs and 23 RBI over his last 22 games. He’s hitting .238 with a .759 OPS and 86 RBI on the year.

Lawrence heads to Minnesota after struggling to an inflated 5.32 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 25/12 K/BB ratio across 22 innings for the Pirates this season. The 31-year-old middle reliever is a sinker/sweeper combo arm with decent velocity but he doesn’t miss enough bats or possess the pinpoint control to envision pitching in high-leverage spots at this stage of his career.

Gray’s fourth homer of the year, hit 384 feet to right, was also his second grand slam. He’s 12th on the Twins with 108 plate appearances but fifth with his 23 RBI. The 30-year-old is hitting .237/.290/.392 while functioning as the Twins’ starting shortstop of late. Some would prefer Kaelen Culpepper in that role right now, but Gray’s trying to prove that there’s no reason for a switch.

Despite having his best velocity of the year — he averaged 94.6 mph with his fastball — Ryan gave up homers to Miguel Vargas and Andrew Benintendi, plus another eight hard-hit balls. But he did miss some bats, too, generating 13 whiffs with a 33 percent CSW. He’s 4-3 with a 3.20 ERA, and he’ll get to face the Royals at home next time out.

Sandlin gave up eight hits, walked four and struck out four. Tristan Gray’s grand slam in the fourth was the big blow, but Sandlin then retired none of the three batters he faced in the fifth. Tyler Davis came in with the bases loaded and allowed everyone to score in another four-run inning for the Twins. Sandlin, who beat the Twins in his major league debut last week, now has an 8.10 ERA after two starts. If he stays in the rotation, he’ll probably face the Phillies on Sunday.

Vargas’s 383-foot double in the first would have been a homer in 11 ballparks. In Target Field, though, it probably would have been caught by a plus center fielder. The Twins, though, had Kody Clemens out there with Byron Buxton limited to DHing. Vargas now has 15 homers in 257 plate appearances this season. That’s one fewer than he had in 569 plate appearances last year and two more than he had in 591 career plate appearances prior to 2025.

Joe Ryan fanned Gonzalez three times on 11 pitches, getting him with the fastball twice and then the curve the third time. Gonzalez struck out 21 percent of the time in Triple-A, so he’s not terrible in that regard, especially considering his first 14 percent walk rate. He’s started at first base the last two days, and he figures to remain in the lineup against most righties until Munetaka Murakami returns and perhaps beyond.

Thomas set the tone for Monday’s eventual one-sided affair by crushing a 409-foot grand slam off Reds reliever Lyon Richardson in the opening frame. It was just his second big fly of the season. He matched a season high with three hits in the contest.

Bleday was one of the few bright spots for Cincinnati during this one-sided affair as he homered for the third time in his last four games. It’s admittedly a small sample size, but the 28-year-old slugging outfielder is striking out less often and making more consistent hard contact during his Reds debut, slashing .301/.398/.655 with 10 homers and 27 RBI in 133 plate appearances over 31 games this season. He should be rostered in all fantasy leagues by this point.

Caglianone took lefty reliever Brandon Leibrandt deep to left-center field in the fifth inning to extend Kansas City’s lead to 6-1 at the time. It was his first time leaving the yard since May 16. The 23-year-old former top prospect is hitting just .242/.310/.401 with six homers and 13 RBI through 55 games. He’s capable of launching tape-measure homers, and isn’t striking out at a sky-high rate, but the over-the-fence pop hasn’t shown up consistently enough in games at the highest level for him to be an impactful fantasy contributor.

Arroyo singled to right field in his final at-bat of the contest after striking out his first three times up. The 22-year-old top prospect’s signature moment during his highly-anticipate debut came during the second inning when he made an extremely athletic play at second base, ranging to his left into shallow right field to make a sliding stop before firing accurately to get the runner at first base. He figures to take over as Cincinnati’s starting second baseman, with Matt McLain handling shortstop, for at least a few weeks while Elly De La Cruz (hamstring) is on the injured list. He’s at least worthy of a speculative roster spot in deeper mixed leagues given his combination of fantasy-relevant tools and path to regular at-bats.
