Jack Flaherty wasn’t at his best in Tuesday night’s loss to the Brewers, surrendering three runs on five hits across 4 2/3 innings.
Flaherty struck out four opposing hitters on the night while issuing a pair of free passes. The Brewers got him for a pair of runs in the second inning, including a solo blast off the bat of Rhys Hoskins, then scratched one another in the fourth on a bloop RBI single by Joey Ortiz. Flaherty threw 98 pitches (56 strikes) in the contest and still couldn’t navigate through five innings, getting 12 whiffs and posting a CSW of 23 percent. He’ll tote an impressive 2.53 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and a 25/9 K/BB ratio (21 1/3 innings) into Sunday’s tilt against the Royals.
