Javier Báez went 3-for-4 with a homer, double, three runs scored and two RBI as the Tigers routed the Reds on Friday evening.

Báez belted a 392-foot (100.4 mph EV) solo shot off of Nick Martinez in the fourth inning that extended the Tigers’ early lead to 3-1. He then started a rally with a leadoff walk in the sixth inning and scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Gleyber Torres. Báez added a two-run double in the eighth inning that made it 9-2 before scoring on a two-run single by Jake Rogers. With his three-hit attack, the 32-year-old is now hitting .284/.314/.443 with seven homers and 33 RBI on the season.

Giants 1B prospect Bryce Eldridge has begun a rehab assignment in the Arizona Complex League.

Eldridge was sidelined at the end of June with a hamstring strain and missed about three weeks before getting back into game action. He’s 2-for-6 in two games in the Complex League with one RBI and one run scored. He should return to the Triple-A lineup once the All-Star break is over.

Blue Jays LHP prospect Ricky Tiedemann (elbow) threw 2/3 of an inning in an Florida Complex League game on Tuesday.

The Blue Jays’ former top prospect had Tommy John surgery in August of last year, so it’s nice to see him already getting on the mound in a game setting. He allowed one hit and struck out one while facing three batters on Tuesday. The Blue Jays will be cautious with their 22-year-old prospect and take his rehab slowly, but there’s a good chance Tiedemann will pitch in some Double-A or Triple-A games before the end of the 2025 season.

Blake Treinen

LAD Relief Pitcher #49

Blake Treinen (forearm) allowed one run on one hit in one inning in the Arizona Complex League on Tuesday.

Treinen followed Blake Snell in this game and allowed a home run to Guardians 3B prospect Dauri Fernandez. Other than that, his day was strong with one strikeout and good velocity on his fastball. He’s likely to return to the Dodgers’ bullpen right after the All-Star break.

Travis Bazzana

CLE 2nd Baseman #87

Travis Bazzana (oblique) went 1-for-3 with two walks and two runs scored in the Arizona Complex League on Tuesday.

Last year’s number one overall pick is working his way back from an oblique injury that sent him to the IL in late May. His one hit on Tuesday was a double off rehabbing Blake Snell, which is not a bad way to get your day started. Bazzana should return to Double-A in short order and could end the season with a few games at Triple-A if he continues his strong performance from before his injury.

LAD Starting Pitcher #7

Blake Snell (shoulder) recorded seven strikeouts over three innings on Tuesday in a minor league rehab start in the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League.

Snell authored a strong performance in his first game action since hitting the injured list back in early April with shoulder inflammation. The 32-year-old southpaw will require a handful of additional rehab outings before he’s ready to rejoin Los Angeles’ rotation, but he’s on track to make it back at some point in August.

Shane Bieber

CLE Starting Pitcher #57

Shane Bieber (elbow) struck out five over two scoreless innings on Tuesday in a minor league rehab start in the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League.

Bieber looked sharp in his first game action since suffering a setback last month during the late stages of his rehabilitation from last year’s Tommy John surgery. The 30-year-old righty is going to need a handful of additional rehab outings to continue building up his pitch count and stamina, but he should make it back to Cleveland at some point in August.

Kyle Schwarber blasted three home runs in the first-ever swing-off tiebreaker on Tuesday, lifting the Nationals League past the American League in the MLB All-Star Game at Truist Park in Atlanta.

Schwarber took home MVP honors by launching three clutch round-trippers on three swings during the first-ever home run swing-off tiebreaker after the Midsummer Classic finished tied 6-6 at the conclusion of nine innings. The 32-year-old Phillies slugger’s home run barrage figures to go down as one of the more indelible memorable moments in All-Star Game history.

Brent Rooker walloped a three-run homer during Tuesday’s MLB All-Star Game at Truist Park in Atlanta.

Rooker slashed the American League’s deficit in half with a sixth-inning blast against Giants reliever Randy Rodríguez that traveled 407 feet. No word on how many inches. He also blasted two big flies during the swing-off tiebreaker, but it still wasn’t enough to lead the American League to a comeback win.

Pete Alonso crushed a three-run homer during Tuesday’s MLB All-Star Game at Truist Park.

Alonso gave the senior circuit a commanding five-run advantage with an opposite-field shot to right field against Royals southpaw Kris Bubic in the sixth inning. The Polar Bear was called upon to anchor the National League’s three-man lineup in the swing-off tiebreaker, but didn’t end up needing to take any hacks after Kyle Schwarber went deep on all three of his swings in dramatic fashion.

Ketel Marte sliced a two-run double during Tuesday’s MLB All-Star Game at Truist Park in Atlanta.

Marte kicked off the scoring by lifting a two-run double down the right-field line against Tigers ace Tarik Skubal in the opening frame. It was his lone hit in two at-bats and represented the lone runs for either side during the Midsummer Classic until Pete Alonso connected for a three-run homer in the sixth inning.
