Jake Mangum is starting in left field and batting sixth on Wednesday against the Athletics.
Mangum was not in the lineup on Tuesday against a left-handed pitcher, but will resume his regular spot on Wednesday against Mitch Spence. Since returning from the IL, Mangum is hitting .303/.337/.364 in 26 games in June with 16 RBI and three steals. He has only five extra base hits on the month, so you’re not getting much power at all, and he also has only four walks in 26 games, so his on-base percentage will be tied directly to how many hits he can get. The batting average feels a bit flukey here, but he has a good spot in the lineup and solid speed, and that keeps him useful in deeper formats.
