The Brewers patched the end of this game together well with the left-handed Aaron Ashby coming in to face Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber in the seventh inning, Abner Uribe taking the five through seven hitters in the eight, and the other lefty Koenig retiring Schwarber to end the game. Koenig did hit ninth hitter Weston Wilson, which is the only reason Schwarber had to come up, but it seemed like he was in the game with him and Harper looming anyway. This is the first time since Trevor Megill went down that Uribe didn’t get the save opportunity, so chalk it up to Pat Murphy playing the matchups with those two talented lefty bats for Philly.

Marsh wound up missing just one game after suffering a right middle finger sprain earlier this week. The 28-year-old outfielder has put together a strong two-month stretch to open the season, slashing .326/.355/.484 with five homers, 24 RBI and four steals in 52 games.

Pérez underwent an MRI that revealed a strain in the thigh muscle in his right leg. The 23-year-old suffered the injury while stretching between innings during Wednesday’s start against the Blue Jays. It’s a brutal development for the Marlins and fantasy managers as the injury is likely to keep him sidelined until at least late July. It’s a bit unclear how Miami plans to fill his rotation spot as their starting pitching depth has suddenly become razor-thin after losing top prospects Robby Snelling (elbow) and Thomas White (shoulder) to injury.

The positive news is that X-rays came back negative for any fractures after Williamson was hit by a pitch on the left forearm during his return from the injured list. The 25-year-old could wind up needing some time off this weekend, but it sounds like he avoided serious injury.

Not good. The Red Sox are going to back off on Anthony’s ramp-up process after he experienced renewed wrist soreness earlier this week. The 22-year-old remains in a bit of a holding pattern as he deals with wrist and finger issues. Simply put, fantasy managers shouldn’t expect him back anytime soon.

It’s the best-case scenario for the Dodgers and fantasy managers as Hernández is likely to only miss a couple weeks. Los Angeles opted to bring up Ryan Ward, who is finally getting a real opportunity at the highest level after years at Triple-A, as a short-term stopgap. It sounds like they considered bringing up red-hot prospect James Tibbs III, but he’s been dealing with a forearm issues that has limited him to DH exclusively of late. His opportunity figures to come later this summer.

It’s an encouraging development after Seager had a similar session scrapped last weekend due to his ongoing back issues. The 32-year-old shortstop figures to be ready for a minor league rehab assignment at some point in early June. It’s fair to assume he’s a couple weeks out from helping fantasy managers again.

Langford made it through Friday’s on-field batting practice session without any issues and will progress to minor league game action this weekend. The 24-year-old fantasy standout figures to rejoin the Rangers’ lineup at some point in early June. He’s been on the shelf recovering from a forearm strain since late April.

Severino was lifted from Friday’s start against his former team after allowing four runs in his lone inning of work. The 32-year-old was initially diagnosed with arm soreness. The club will take a look under the hood to determine whether he’s dealing with any structural issues. It certainly sounds like he could require a trip to the injured list. Severino is tentatively scheduled to take the ball against the Cubs on Thursday.

Passan adds that Uribe is appealing the one-game suspension, which will enable him to continue pitching until the appeal process unfolds. The 25-year-old pulled the iconic Hingle McCringleberry celebration against the Cardinals in response to what he perceived was an indication from St. Louis manager Oliver Marmol that they were going to hit Brewers players for relaying signs. The kerfuffle appears to be largely over, but Uribe could wind up missing at least one game if the suspension is upheld.

Chourio delivered a 431-foot homer off Kai-Wen Teng in the fifth. He’s hitting .267/.320/.411 with two homers (on 12 barrels) and five steals in 97 plate appearances since returning from a fractured finger.
