Astros signed LHP Bennett Sousa to a one-year, $910,000 deal to avoid arbitration.
Sousa pitched 50 2/3 innings for the Astros in 2025 before being sidelined with a low-grade flexor/pronator strain. The 30-year-old recorded a 2.84 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, and 59/15 K/BB ratio and will continue to be a key part of the Astros’ bullpen.

Liam Hicks slugged a solo homer on Monday, powering the Marlins to a 7-3 win over the Nationals.
Hicks extended Miami’s lead with a solo shot to right field off Nats reliever Cole Henry in the ninth inning. It was his 12th round-tripper of the season. The 26-year-old backstop reached base safely in two of his five plate appearances out of the leadoff spot and scored a pair of runs in this one. He’s had an outstanding season so far, slashing .268/.345/.479 with 29 runs scored, 12 homers, 46 RBI and one steal in 58 games.
Duran someone to add amid hot streak for Red Sox
Eric Samulski details Jarren Duran's recent hot streak for the Boston Red Sox and why he is someone to add in fantasy leagues whether via waivers or trade.
  • WSH Center Fielder #30
Jacob Young belted a two-run homer in Monday’s loss to the Marlins.
Young got a curveball over the plate from Marlins ace Sandy Alcantara and sent it 393-feet into the left-field seats in the second inning to put Washington ahead briefly. The 26-year-old center fielder has gone deep eight times in 59 games this season, with half of those coming in his last 15 games, after mustering only five round-trippers total in 280 games the previous two seasons combined.
  • MIA Left Fielder #28
Kyle Stowers went 1-for-4 with a solo homer and two RBI on Monday in a win over the Nationals.
Stowers and teammate Liam Hicks went deep against Nationals reliever Cole Henry in the ninth inning to give Miami a commanding four-run lead at the time. It was his first round-tripper since a two-homer explosion against Atlanta back on May 21. The 28-year-old corner outfielder is hitting just .221/.301/.379 with four homers, 13 RBI and one steal through 38 games this season.
  • WSH 1st Baseman #45
Curtis Mead went 2-for-4 with an RBI on Monday in a loss to the Marlins.
Mead drilled a run-scoring single to left field with two outs in the third inning against Marlins ace Sandy Alcantara as part of another multi-hit effort. The 25-year-old former top prospect has shown some really promising signs at the dish since taking over as Washington’s starting third baseman last month, hitting .294 (15-for-51) with four homers and 11 RBI over his last 15 games. He’s at least worthy of a speculative roster spot in deeper mixed leagues based on his pedigree, recent production and newfound everyday role with the Nationals.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher #22
Sandy Alcantara surrendered three runs over seven innings on Monday in a win over the Nationals.
Alcantara completed seven innings for the fourth time this season, limiting Washington’s lineup to just seven hits, including a two-run homer by Jacob Young in the second inning. He struck out five and didn’t hand out a free pass. It was a much-needed rebound performance after back-to-back lackluster outings, including getting lit up for eight runs over 5 2/3 innings by the Blue Jays his last time out. The hard-throwing 30-year-old will close out a two-start week with a favorable home matchup against the Rays on Sunday.
  • WSH Starting Pitcher #24
Cade Cavalli gave up two runs over five innings on Monday in a no-decision against the Marlins.
Cavalli dealt with a ton of traffic on the basepaths in the opening two frames and looked like he was going to be in some serious trouble. He somehow managed to avoid any serious damage and allowed just one baserunner over his final three frames before departing after 89 pitches (58 strikes). He struck out six and issued three walks. The 27-year-old has allowed three earned runs or fewer, while completing at least five innings, in five consecutive starts since May 10. He’ll wrap up a two-start week with a road matchup against the Diamondbacks on Sunday.
  • PIT Starting Pitcher #50
Pirates activated RHP Carmen Mlodzinski from the restricted list.
Mlodzinski will rejoin the Pirates for Tuesday’s series opener against the Astros following a one-game stint on the restricted list. The 27-year-old has expressed a willingness to pitch in relief after being removed from Pittsburgh’s rotation last week. “I want to do what’s best to help us win baseball games,” Mlodzinski told MLB.com on Monday. He also added that he never requested a trade. There doesn’t appear to be any sort of controversy here.
  • LAA Shortstop #9
Zach Neto (neck) was scratched from the lineup for Monday’s series opener against the Rockies.
Neto is still dealing with some side effects from a scary-looking home-plate collision during Saturday’s game against the Rays that left him with whiplash symptoms. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. It’ll be Oswald Peraza taking over at shortstop in his absence.
  • MIN Starting Pitcher #20
Mick Abel (elbow) is scheduled to face hitters on Thursday in a two-inning live batting practice session.
Abel has finally progressed to facing hitters again after hitting the injured list with elbow inflammation back on April 20. The 24-year-old underwent an MRI at the time which didn’t reveal any structural damage. He’ll require a handful of rehab starts before he’s ready to rejoin Minnesota’s rotation, but he’s getting closer. There’s a chance he’s back by late June or early July based on his present trajectory.
  • TB Shortstop #6
Taylor Walls was removed from Monday’s game with left hamstring tightness.
Walls made a precautionary exit, according to the team, after experiencing some hamstring discomfort. The 29-year-old shortstop missed three games last week because of the same issue. He’s presumably day-to-day for now, but it wouldn’t be shocking to see this develop into an injured list situation.
