The 20-year-old prodigy remains a work in progress at the plate, like most top prospects at his age, but he’s displayed one of the strongest hit tools in the minors over the past few years, while adding some additional over-the-fence power within the last year. He’s worthy of a speculative roster spot in all leagues based solely on his immense talent, but fantasy managers should keep expectations in check while he acclimates to everyday life in the majors.

Helman returns to the majors for the first time since last year when he got into a career-high 38 games for the Rangers, with Corey Seager hitting the injured list with back inflammation. The 29-year-old figures to occupy a bench role at the highest level.

It’s extremely unfortunate timing for fantasy managers with the Rangers opening a three-game series at Coors Field on Monday night. The decision was made to give Seager some extra time off after he left the club to visit a back specialist after undergoing an MRI over the weekend. The major concern here is that back issues can be complicated matters. There should be a rough timetable for his return at some point in the near future.
