Ben Brown was terrific during Saturday’s Cactus League start against the Rockies, piling up six strikeouts over four innings of one-run baseball.

The 26-year-old hurler scattered two hits on the afternoon and did not allow a base on balls. The only scoring done against him came in the opening inning as Brenton Doyle smacked a one-out triple and scored on a ground ball off the bat of Hunter Goodman. Brown needed a strong showing on Saturday to keep in the mix for a roster spot, and he certainly delivered. For the spring, he holds a 3.38 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and a sparkling 15/3 K/BB ratio across 10 2/3 innings.

Sammy Peralta

Rockies recalled LHP Sammy Peralta from Triple-A Albuquerque.

Peralta was claimed off of waivers from the Brewers in early April. He’ll get his first shot to work out of the Rockies’ bullpen with Ryan Feltner (elbow) heading to the injured list on Friday. It’s possible it’ll be a short-term move as the Rockies decide how to replace Feltner in their rotation as someone will ultimately need to be sent back out to make room for that replacement starter next week. He’ll function in a middle relief role for first-year manager Warren Schaeffer.

Ryan Feltner

Rockies placed RHP Ryan Feltner on the 15-day injured list with right ulnar nerve irritation.

Feltner was pulled from Thursday’s start against the Padres after just two innings due to tightness in his triceps and further evaluation led to the unfortunate diagnosis. There’s no clear timetable yet on how long he’ll be shelved for, but fantasy managers in deeper redraft leagues can probably go ahead and cut bait at this point. Sammy Peralta was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move on Friday.

Carlos Rodriguez

MIL Relief Pitcher #27

Brewers optioned RHP Carlos Rodriguez to Triple-A Nashville.

He lasted six days on the roster, throwing two innings in two separate appearances on April 19 and April 22 while allowing just one earned run. Rodriguez will undoubtedly be back soon, but optionable relievers do tend to be optioned out in 2026.

Shane Drohan

MIL Relief Pitcher #55

Brewers recalled LHP Shane Drohan from Triple-A Nashville.

Drohan resurfaces with a 3.29 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 13 2/3 innings with the Sounds. His initial taste of MLB earlier in April left him with a career 10.13 ERA and he’ll attempt to shave that down in his next outing.

Luis Matos

MIL Right Fielder #21

Brewers designated OF Luis Matos for assignment.

Matos had hit just .200/.238/.200 in 21 plate appearances as the short end of a platoon. He’s talented enough to keep getting chances, but Matos has a career .230/.279/.363 line in 614 career plate appearances. It wouldn’t be surprising if he slipped through waivers.

Tyler Black

MIL 3rd Baseman #7

Brewers recalled 1B/OF Tyler Black from Triple-A Nashville.

Black had been hitting .282/.378/.410 in 45 plate appearances with the Sounds, hitting one homer and stealing two bases. He’s been an interesting prospect for a bit. We’d wait-and-see what the role looks like in the bigs before we pounced — at least outside of deeper leagues — but it’s certainly possible Black carries some fantasy value while Christian Yelich is sidelined.

Jackson Holliday

BAL 2nd Baseman #7

Jackson Holliday (hand) said his MRI, CT scan, and X-Rays all came back clean after leaving Tuesday’s rehab game with Triple-A Norfolk.

He’ll be shut down a week to let inflammation go down. Holliday said it felt like he had broken his hand again, but nothing was structurally wrong and “I guess whenever a tendon rolls over a nerve, it can kind of cause that. It kind of freaked me out.” He now would appear very unlikely to be activated before May.

Steven Kwan

CLE Left Fielder #38
Steven Kwan is not in Cleveland’s starting lineup against the Blue Jays on Friday.

It’s Kwan’s first missed start of the season, as he’d played at least seven innings in each of Cleveland’s first 25 games. He’s hitting .227/.315/.289 in the early going and hasn’t had a multi-hit game since April 16. Angel Martinez is in left field for the Guardians tonight against RHP Max Scherzer.

Ian Hamilton

ATL Relief Pitcher #71

Braves sent RHP Ian Hamilton outright to Triple-A Gwinnett.

The veteran can refuse the assignment if he’d like. He allowed three runs in his only MLB appearance earlier this season. He has already been outrighted by the Braves once this year and seems likely to stick around as depth.

Maikel Garcia

Maikel Garcia (elbow) isn’t in Kansas City’s starting lineup against the Angels on Friday.

Garcia told reporters after Thursday’s game that he was feeling better and expected to play Friday, but that did not come to pass. We’ll keep our ears to the ground for any new Garcia news, but we’re regarding him as day-to-day for the moment. Nick Loftin is starting and leading off for the Royals against LHP Yusei Kikuchi.
