He’s expected to begin the season in a utility role for the Braves, but if he winds up seeing the majority of the starts at shortstop he could ultimately wind up being a viable late-round source of steals for fantasy purposes.

France was awful Friday, allowing four runs in 2 2/3 innings. The 31-year-old will head back to the minors with Jayden Murray up to provide a fresh arm. France will likely be back in a low-leverage role at some point.

It’s disappointing for the short-term, but for now, it’s positive news that he’s avoided a significant injury.

Donovan was not able to play Friday due to the illness, and he’ll get at least one more day off while recovering Saturday. Consider Donovan day-to-day with a good chance to get back in the lineup Sunday against Houston, and if not the series finale Monday.

A bruised fingernail doesn’t sound like a ton of fun. Klassen threw 72 pitches — 38 of them strikes — while allowing five runs over two-plus innings before exiting. Depending on the severity of the bruise, Klassen could be heading to the injured list. He also could be headed back to Triple-A based on how he’s pitched in these two starts.

Larnach got a rare start against a left-handed pitcher on Saturday, batting seven against Eric Lauer. He capped off a seven-run inning for the Twins with a three-run blast off Lauer for his first homer of the season. The 29-year-old outfielder had just one home run over 106 at-bats against left-handed pitching in 2025. Larnach is hitting .273/.448/.500 with five runs and five RBI across just 29 plate appearances as the Twins have faced a lefty-heavy schedule in the early going.

Lee put the Twins on the board with a leadoff homer in the third inning, part of a seven-run frame as Minnesota hit around the order. Lee added a single in the sixth for his second hit. That’s back-to-back games with a home run for the 25-year-old infielder. Lee is hitting .237/.293/.395 with six RBI across 41 plate appearances.

Sánchez left the yard on his only hit of the day, golfing one out to right field for a two-run blast in the ninth inning. The home run had an exit velocity of 107 mph, going 406 feet. It was the second home run of the season for the 28-year-old outfielder. Sánchez makes for a solid streamer in deep five-outfielder leagues against right-handed pitching.

Ryan walked the leadoff man in the first inning, then surrendered a two-run homer to Daulton Varsho. That would be all the damage the Blue Jays would do as Ryan settled in nicely, giving up just one more hit through seven innings. He tossed an efficient 65 strikes on 91 pitches and induced ten whiffs to strike out five batters. Ryan’s fastball velocity is still down a tick from last season in the early going. Still, he’s posted a solid 3.80 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, and a 22/6 K/BB ratio across 21 1/3 innings. He’ll take on the Reds in Minnesota on Friday.

Lauer’s velocity still wasn’t quite back to where he was in his first start after pitching through an illness his last time out, sitting 90.2 mph on Saturday. He tossed a pair of scoreless innings before unraveling in the third. Brooks Lee got to him with a solo homer to lead off the frame. Five straight batters would reach safely to bring in three more runs and leave two runners on for Trevor Larnach, who launched a three-run homer to make it a seven-run inning. Lauer came back with two more scoreless innings and recorded the first out in the sixth before departing at 95 pitches. The 30-year-old left-hander is in line to take on the Diamondbacks in Arizona on Friday.
