Everson Pereira will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday.

Pereira is on the IL with a sprained ankle retroactive to Apr. 2, so he’ll be eligible to be activated tomorrow. That’s not going to happen, obviously, but Tuesday after the off day on Monday seems like a possibility. Tanner Murray will probably be sent down to make room.

Wilyer Abreu hit a two-run homer, walked and scored twice as the Red Sox topped the Mariners 5-1 on Saturday.

Abreu’s homer was a 416-footer to dead center, giving him nine on the season. At .275/.334/.433, he’s been a pretty average this season, but against all expectations, he has a .921 OPS against lefties and just a .707 OPS versus righties. Most likely, the OPS versus lefties will tumble, but some improvement versus righties should counter that and keep him useful in mixed leagues.
Has Mets' McLean 'finally' turned a corner?
James Schiano reflects on Mets' Nolan McLean's recent performance against the Reds and if there are still reasons for concern about the young pitcher's season.

Connelly Early pitched six innings of one-run ball and struck out seven against the Mariners on Saturday.

Early had lost all three of his starts this month before shutting down the Mariners. He allowed just three hard-hit balls, none of which topped 100 mph, and gave up no extra-base hits. That’s a nice change from a pitcher who had allowed five homers in his previous three starts. Early still seems like a weak mixed-league play for the most part, and that will hold true next week in a home start versus the Yankees.

Emerson Hancock yielded five runs in 5 1/3 innings Saturday in a loss to the Red Sox.

Hancock had a 2.70 ERA in his seven home starts this season before his latest mediocre effort tonight. He allowed a season high six runs to the Nationals last Sunday, and the five runs he gave up tonight are two more than he’d allowed in any of his previous starts in Seattle. He might be on his way to being droppable in mixed leagues, but he does have a relatively generous assignment next week in Cleveland against the José Ramírez-less Guardians.

Colt Emerson struck out all three times up against the Red Sox on Saturday.

At .220/.290/.495 with six homers in 28 games, Emerson’s big-league career is still off to a fine start. However, Statcast thinks he’s been extremely lucky to have six homers and three barrels and 20 hits with 17 hard-hit balls. His strikeout rate is up to 31 percent after tonight, and it seems unlikely that he’ll turn into a reliable mixed-league option until 2027 at the earliest.

Jo Adell went 3-for-5 with two doubles and a run scored against the Athletics on Saturday.

The Angels hit six doubles against the Athletics on Saturday and two of them belonged to Adell. The 27-year-old outfielder had three hits total, raising his average to .252. Adell is having a down-year with a .691 OPS after posting a .778 OPS in 2025. He has just one home run in 18 games so far in June.

Jackson Holliday exited Saturday’s game against the Dodgers because of groin tightness.

Jeremiah Jackson took over at second base after Holliday went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts. This doesn’t appear to be anything significant, but Jackson could start over Holliday on Sunday.

J.T. Ginn allowed four runs in 5 1/3 innings and took the loss against the Angels on Saturday.

Ginn gave up seven hits, walked three and struck out five. He fell to 5-4 with the loss. Ginn allowed five baserunners in the second inning, leading to two runs for the Angels. He kept Los Angeles from scoring again until the sixth inning, when he was pulled after back-to-back singles and the bullpen allowed both inherited runners to score. Ginn is difficult to trust in fantasy heading into his next start against the Angels on the road next weekend.

Walbert Ureña tossed five scoreless innings and got the win in the Angels’ 7-0 victory over the Athletics on Saturday.

Ureña gave up four hits, walked none and struck out six. He improved to 5-5 with the win. The Athletics loaded the bases with one out in the first inning against Ureña, but he was able to escape the jam. After that, the Athletics had only one baserunner reach second base against Ureña. He lowered his ERA to 2.41. Ureña will face the Athletics at home next weekend.

Jaden Hill got the final two outs and picked up the save against the Pirates on Saturday.

Hill came on with the Rockies clinging to a one-run lead in the ninth inning with two men on and one out. He hit the first batter he faced to load the bases before recording a strikeout for the second out of the inning. Hill then induced a ground ball to third base from speedy outfielder Jake Mangum and Billy Cook, who was the runner on second, was called out for baserunners interference. Given Mangum’s speed, the play was far from routine for third baseman Kyle Karros, but the Rockies were bailed out when Cook made contact with Karros’ glove. The controversial call ended the game, netting Hill his second save. The Rockies bullpen is still one to avoid in fantasy.

Jake McCarthy went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, a double and a home run against the Pirates on Saturday.

McCarthy’s home run was his fifth of the season. He smashed a line drive to centerfield and after Jake Mangum couldn’t come up with the ball on a dive, McCarthy turned on the jets. The 28-year-old outfielder practically flew around the bases for his fifth home run. McCarthy’s bat against right-handed pitching and speed could help a contender, making him a potential trade chip for the Rockies.
