Rooker is moving around well enough that he’ll travel with the team during their upcoming road trip to Seattle and Texas to continue his rehab. He’s still without a timetable for his return but is at least making strides in the right direction now.

That certainly doesn’t sound ideal. Sandoval gave up five runs over two innings during Tuesday’s minor league rehab start at Triple-A Worcester. The Red Sox should have an update on his status and a potential timeline for his return following that evaluation.

It’s the third start at the position for Tatis, who is creeping closer to eligibility for fantasy purposes in leagues that require five or ten games played in-season at a position. Bryce Johnson will start in right field for the Padres and will bat ninth against Angels’ right-hander Walbert Urena on Sunday afternoon.

James Outman will start in his place and will bat ninth for the Twins against Brady Singer and the Reds on Sunday afternoon. If this continues to linger for Wallner, the Twins may ultimately opt to put him on the injured list to make sure it fully heals.

The Angels had an opening to fill in their rotation and they’ll fill the void by having Walbert Urena take the ball on Sunday against the Padres. Unfortunately, it costs Detmers a two-start week this week, but he’ll now be lined up to make two starts (vs. Blue Jays, at Royals) at the expense of Jack Kochanowicz.

He’ll play in his second minor league rehab game at Triple-A St. Paul on Sunday. Both teams are off on Monday, so as long as he checks out alright after Sunday’s game, the expectation is that the oft-injured third baseman will be cleared to rejoin the Twins on Tuesday.

McGonigle had started each of the team’s previous eight games and 20 of their first 21. He’ll get a well-deserved breather with left-hander Garrett Crochet toeing the slab for the Red Sox. Expect the 21-year-old phenom to still make an appearance off the bench in a key late-game situation if needed. On the season, he’s slashing .312/.411/.481 with one homer, nine RBI, one stolen base and an elite 11/13 K/BB ratio through his first 90 plate appearances in the big leagues.

It’s the second straight game in which Duran has found himself on the pine against Tigers’ southpaws Tarik Skubal and Framber Valdez. Andruw Monasterio will start at first base and bat second for the Red Sox while Willson Contreras functions as the team’s designated hitter.

It’s the second straight start that Donovan has missed due to tightness in his left hip. Leo Rivas will start in his place at the hot corner and will bat ninth for the Mariners on Sunday afternoon against MacKenzie Gore and the Rangers.
