Holliday will get some time off as he continues to recover from the hamate fracture he suffered in his wrist. The 22-year-old should return to action shortly, and has a chance to be back with Baltimore near the early portion of May.

The Yankees finally have a right-handed catcher on the roster in Ali Sánchez, who was promoted today, so it looks like Wells is going to more sitting against southpaws. Wells is hitting just .166/.278/.255 overall this year, and he’s come in at .100/.179/.160 versus lefties.

The Yankees have José Caballero in right field and Anthony Volpe at short against left-hander Ranger Suárez. Boston is throwing another lefty in Connelly Early on Sunday, so there’s a good chance that Jones will sit once again.

Isiah Kiner-Falefa seems to have cooled off, so he’s taking a seat after 10 straight starts. The switch-hitting Seigler was called up Wednesday after hitting .298/.425/.471 in 30 games for Triple-A Worcester. He appeared in one of his first three games on the roster, going 0-for-2.

Canzone’s three-hit effort included his eighth long ball of the season, a gargantuan 451-foot blast to center field off Tigers starter Keider Montero in the fourth inning. It came just a few innings after sending a run-scoring double off the base of the center-field wall in his first at-bat of the contest. The 28-year-old has been on fire recently, hitting .350 (14-for-40) with four homers and seven RBI over his last 15 games.

Miller authored his strongest performance of the season, falling just short of posting his first double-digit strikeout performance since last September 11. He generated an eye-popping 16 swinging strikes, including nine on his fastball alone, and allowed just three baserunners. The 27-year-old righty has been phenomenal since coming off the injured list last month, forging a microscopic 1.33 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and 29/5 K/BB ratio across 27 innings. He’ll try to keep the momentum going when he faces the Orioles on Thursday in his next start.

Montero gave up six hits, including a 451-foot moonshot to Dominic Canzone in the fourth inning. He finished with one strikeout and issued one walk. He’s allowed four earned runs in three of his last five outings since May 14. He’ll bring a respectable 3.95 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 44/16 K/BB ratio across 66 innings into a road outing against the Guardians on Friday.

It’s notable that Pederson remains in the leadoff spot against a right-handed starter with both Corey Seager and Wyatt Langford back from the injured list. The ultra-streaky 34-year-old veteran has been red-hot in recent weeks, batting .271 (23-for-85) with six homers and 18 RBI over his last 30 games. He’s a strong pickup for fantasy managers, even in shallow mixed leagues, when he’s in the midst of a hot streak.

Not great. Caglianone will undergo further evaluation, and likely imaging, to determine the severity of the issue. MLB.com’s Anne Rogers notes that Caglianone appeared to suffer the injury when he crashed into the wall in foul territory down the right-field line during Friday’s series opener. The 23-year-old slugger was 0-for-1 before being lifted for a pinch-hitter during the fourth inning of Saturday’s contest. He’s been swinging a hot bat recently, hitting .381 (8-for-21) with one homer, four RBI and one steal over his last seven games. There should be an update on his status following the contest.

Pop was jettisoned from Philadelphia’s relief mix last weekend after just seven appearances earlier this season. The 29-year-old was hit hard during a minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Lehigh Valley while working his way back from a calf strain that put him on the injured list back in mid-April. He should be able to latch on somewhere else as organizational depth.

Waldrep struck out four, issued three walks and also uncorked a wild pitch in his second rehab outing in the lower minors. The 24-year-old former top prospect will need a couple additional outings, especially some against higher-level competition, before he’s ready to rejoin Atlanta’s rotation sometime around late June or early July.
