Willy Adames is not in the Giants’ starting lineup for Sunday afternoon’s showdown against the Marlins.

Adames has really struggled to start the 2026 season, slashing .207/.248/.378 with three homers, six RBI, zero stolen bases (in two attempts) and a 36/5 K/BB ratio across 117 plate appearances. Christian Koss will start in his place at shortstop and will bat eighth against Max Meyer and the Marlins on Sunday in San Francisco.

Rays recalled RHP Chris Roycroft from Triple-A Durham

Roycroft was acquired from the Cardinals in June and has thrown four shutout innings in Triple-A for the Rays. The 6'7" right-hander has a 6.41 ERA in 60 1/3 career MLB innings.
Helsley heads to IL with no timeline for return
With Ryan Helsley heading to the IL for the second time this season, Eric Samulski analyzes some of the Orioles' bullpen options during their closer's absence.

Rays optioned RHP Mason Englert to Triple-A Durham

Englert pitched well on Sunday, allowing two runs in 5 2/3 innings while striking out nine in a loss to the Astros. The Rays will bring up some extra bullpen help in the meantime and then figure out a fifth starter if they need one over the weekend.

Nationals recalled RHP Cole Henry from Triple-A Rochester

Henry has a 6.00 ERA, 1.67 WHIP, and a 13/6 K/BB ratio over 12 innings in 10 appearances with the Nationals this season. He will be limited to low-leverage innings.

Jonny DeLuca is starting in right field and batting fifth against the Yankees on Monday.

Over the last three weeks, DeLuca has gone 9-for-33 (.273) with three home runs, six RBI, and three steals in 12 games. He continues to play less often than Victor Mesa Jr., which has limited his fantasy upside. However, if DeLuca were to get more playing time, he could be firmly on the radar in deeper formats.

Braves selected the contract of RHP Owen Murphy from Triple-A Gwinnett

The 22-year-old has a 3.88 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, and 65/20 K/BB ratio in 60 1/3 Triple-A innings this season. He has a good fastball and slider combination and could conceivably push for a spot in Atlanta’s rotation if he pitches well. However, he will just be a bulk reliever for now, and AJ Smith-Shawver (elbow) is about two weeks away from returning to the Braves’ rotation, which will give Murphy another hurdle to overcome. We’d keep him on waiver wires in fantasy leagues for now.

Braves designated RHP Carlos Carrasco for assignment.

You know the drill by now. This is the fifth time the Braves have designated Carrasco for assignment this season. He will likely clear waivers and be signed to a minor league deal.

Braves recalled RHP JR Ritchie from Triple-A Gwinnett

Ritchie was sent to the minors on Sunday, but with Martin Perez (forearm) landing on the injured list, the team is able to bring him right back. He will continue to serve in a bulk relief role for now.

Braves placed LHP Martín Pérez on the 15-day injured list with a left forearm contusion.

Since the X-rays came back negative for Pérez, this feels like the Braves simply using the All-Star break to get their veteran some extra time to heal. We expect him to be back in the rotation after the break.

Mets acquired RHP Matt Seelinger from the Tigers for cash considerations.

Seelinger has a 3.89 ERA, 1.42 WHIP, and 49/19 K/BB ratio in 39 1/3 innings at Triple-A this season. The 31-year-old can miss bats, but he’s also posted a walk rate over 11 percent in back-to-back seasons at Triple-A. He’s just organizational depth for a depleted Mets pitching staff.

Jake Bloss (elbow) allowed one run on three hits in 4 1/3 innings for Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday.

He struck out one and walked one while throwing 62 percent of his pitches for strikes. The bigger news was that Bloss saw 94.9 mph on his sinker and 96.3 mph on his four-seam fastball, which were both up by about three mph. He struggled to command the sinker, but that kind of velocity bump, which he held throughout the game, would be big news for the 25-year-old right-hander. He could be an option in the Blue Jays’ rotation after the break.
