Will Warren will no longer start on Wednesday against the Rangers.
Instead, the Yankees will call up starting pitching prospect Elmer Rodríguez to make his MLB debut on Wednesday. Yankees manager Aaron Boone has confirmed that Warren is not dealing with any injury but that the team is just realigning its rotation. That realignment has not yet been announced, but the Yankees could just push Warren and Ryan Weathers back one day each, which would allow them to start against Baltimore along with Max Fried and Cam Schlittler.

Masyn Winn (knee) is back in the lineup for Wednesday’s game against the Pirates.
Winn is back at shortstop and hitting sixth following a one-game absence due to left knee discomfort. The positive news is that an MRI didn’t turn up any structural damage and he’s feeling well enough to get back in the lineup after a brief hiatus.
Stash Tigers' Melton ahead of return from IL
With "intriguing" upside in several categories, Troy Melton is shaping up to be a priority stash in fantasy ahead of his activation from the Tigers' injured list.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #17
Shohei Ohtani is starting and in the lineup at DH on Wednesday against the division-rival Padres.
Ohtani returns to two-way status after three consecutive starts where he pitched exclusively since April 22. The 31-year-old generational talent recently snapped out of an extended funk at the plate, hitting .429 (12-for-28) with one homer, nine RBI and one steal over his last seven games. The Dodgers have made an effort to reduce his massive workload by giving him time off from hitting while pitching recently, so it’s notable that he’s in the lineup for a pivotal showdown against San Diego.
  • TOR Starting Pitcher #17
José Berríos underwent season-ending Tommy John surgery this week, according to Blue Jays manager John Schneider.
This was always a potential outcome. The decision was made to perform a full reconstructive procedure after surgeons discovered UCL damage while performing an elbow operation to address his preexisting fracture and loose bodies. The 31-year-old right-hander’s absence is a hit to Toronto’s rotation depth since there was a slight possibility he would pitch again later this season. He’s likely to miss a significant portion of next year given the timing of the procedure.
  • KC Center Fielder #15
Lane Thomas is out of the lineup for Wednesday’s series finale against the Red Sox with hamstring soreness.
Royals manager Matt Quatraro told reporters Thomas is available off the bench, but they’re going to try to give him some extra rest ahead of Thursday’s off-day. The 30-year-old suffered the minor ailment during Tuesday’s game against Boston. He’ll presumably be ready for Friday’s series opener against the Mariners.
  • TEX Right Fielder #24
Brandon Nimmo was removed from Wednesday’s series finale against the Rockies with right hamstring tightness.
Nimmo has been dealing with hamstring issues since early May and wound up departing Wednesday’s contest following a fifth-inning single. The 33-year-old veteran finished 1-for-3 before departing. There should be a definitive update on his status prior to Friday’s series opener against the division-rival Angels.
  • CIN 1st Baseman #27
Sal Stewart went 4-for-5 with a two-run homer, a double and three runs scored as the Reds took down the Phillies 9-4 on Wednesday.
Stewart also had the defensive play of the game, crashing into the rail of the third base camera well while catching a foul popup from Bryson Stott in the second. Stewart went 7-for-12 with two homers and no strikeouts during the three-game series against the Phillies, and his OPS is back up to .856 for the year.
  • CIN Starting Pitcher #41
Andrew Abbott yielded two runs — one earned — in 5 1/3 innings Wednesday in a victory over the Phillies.
Abbott walked two to lead to an unearned run in the first. He then kept the Phillies quiet until Alec Bohm ended his day by homering with one out in the sixth. Abbott managed only three strikeouts, though he had 13 whiffs and a 29 percent CSW. His ERA is down to 3.97 after peaking at 6.59 ERA on Apr. 24. He’s allowed a total of four earned runs in 28 innings over his last five starts, four of which have produced victories. He’ll face the Mets next week.
  • PHI Starting Pitcher #27
Aaron Nola lost to the Reds after giving up four runs and eight hits in five innings on Wednesday.
Three of the runs came in the second, when the Reds racked up four hits. Nola wasn’t hit particularly hard today, with four of the eight hits he allowed coming on soft liners. He struck out five. Still, this is a pretty typical outing for him these days. He’ll take a 2-4 record and a 6.04 ERA into his next outing in San Diego.
  • CIN Designated Hitter #31
Nathaniel Lowe doubled twice and knocked in three runs against the Phillies on Wednesday.
Lowe came into the day with a .213/.275/.319 line in 51 plate appearances this month, so he needs to heat up again with Eugenio Suárez nearing a return. More games like this will help keep him in the lineup, probably at Ke’Bryan Hayes’ expense.
  • PHI Shortstop #7
Trea Turner singled, walked twice and stole two bases Wednesday against the Reds.
Turner also scored on a 255-foot flyout to left from Bryce Harper that almost no one else would have tried tagging up on. Turner has hit in seven straight games. Even better for fantasy leaguers is that he’s attempted seven steals in his last 11 games, succeeding six times. He was 3-for-3 through his first 38 games.
