Colson Montgomery homered while helping the White Sox to a win over the Angels on Tuesday.
Montgomery’s ninth homer of the season gave the White Sox a 1-0 lead in the second inning. The 24-year-old also singled and improved his slash to .236/.341/.509. Montgomery’s swing-and-miss issues make hitting for average unlikely, but the power is readily apparent, and makes him a potential fantasy star.

Kyle Leahy allowed one run with two strikeouts over six innings in a win over the Royals on Saturday.
Leahy stranded six runners through four innings, including a bases-loaded situation in the second, before the Royals would break through with one run on two hits in the fifth. He returned for a scoreless sixth, ending his day at 90 pitches with two strikeouts and in line for the win. It’s his third straight start allowing one run or less. The 28-year-old right-hander will take a 3.94 ERA, 1.55 WHIP, and a 34/20 K/BB ratio across 45 2/3 innings into a start against the Reds in Cincinnati on Friday.
What has made Bleday so successful lately?
Eric Samulski discusses how Cincinnati Reds' J.J. Bleday has been "one of the hottest hitters in baseball" recently, going over key statistics that speak to his success and why fantasy managers should look out for him.

Noah Cameron allowed three runs while striking out four batters over six innings in a loss against the Cardinals on Saturday.
Cameron gave up a run in the first inning on two hits and a sacrifice fly. He settled in for three more scoreless frames before the Cardinals brought two more runs home in the fifth. Cameron gave the Royals a scoreless sixth to finish with a quality start. He generated a season-high 12 whiffs to strike out four batters. The 26-year-old left-hander will take a 5.40 ERA, 1.51 WHIP, and a 36/14 K/BB ratio across 41 2/3 innings into a start against the Mariners in Kansas City on Friday.
  • LAA Relief Pitcher #44
Angels transferred RHP Ben Joyce from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.
It doesn’t really change Joyce’s timeline, as Joyce has been on the injured list with his shoulder issue since the start of the season. The right-hander had an MRI return clean recently, and he’s been up to 102 mph with his fastball in rehab appearances. He should be an option for the Angels’ bullpen by the start of the summer.
  • SEA 3rd Baseman #33
Brendan Donovan was scratched from Saturday’s lineup against the Padres.
Donovan wasn’t the only player scratched, as the Mariners also removed Mitch Garver from Saturday’s lineup. No reason has been given as to why either player was removed, but it’s very likely injury-related. Leo Rivas is now the third baseman, and Jonny Pereda will handle catching duties. There should be an update on both shortly.
  • MIL Designated Hitter #22
Christian Yelich (back) is not in the starting lineup against the Twins on Saturday.
Yelich, 34, will miss his fourth consecutive game — assuming he doesn’t come off the bench — while dealing with tightness in his back. William Contreras is the designated hitter, and Gary Sanchez will get the start behind the plate with Yelich unavailable.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher #35
Clay Holmes will need to wait 6-8 weeks before until his fractured fibula heals.
The good news is, it appears Holmes will not need to undergo season-ending surgery. The bad news is that Mets manager Carlos Mendoza believes that Holmes is going to miss around three months with the fracture. The right-hander was one of the few bright spots with a 2.39 ERA over his 52 2/3 innings, but it now seems unlikely he’ll be back in the Mets rotation until the middle of August — at the earliest.
  • NYY Starting Pitcher #71
Elmer Rodríguez will start Sunday’s game against the Mets.
Rodríguez will get the nod instead of Ryan Weathers, who was previously scheduled to start the finale of the subway series. Rodríguez is taking the rotation spot of Max Fried (elbow), and the 22-year-old is considered one of the better pitching prospects at the upper levels. He’ll likely stick in the rotation until Gerrit Cole (elbow) returns near the start of June.
  • CHC Starting Pitcher #36
Cubs activated LHP Jordan Wicks off the 15-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Iowa.
Wicks has been on the injured list with elbow inflammation since the start of the season. The 26-year-old could be an option for the Cubs at some point, but the former first-round selection will continue to operate in Iowa for the foreseeable future.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #58
Luis Castillo and Bryce Miller will both pitch Tuesday against the White Sox.
Instead of sticking with the six-man rotation, both Miller and Castillo will work multiple innings in the middle game of the three-game set against Chicago. What hasn’t been announced yet is who will start that game, and assuming the starter doesn’t go five innings, that hurler won’t be eligible for a win. The Mariners could move back to the six-man rotation in the coming days/weeks, but for now, it appears the two will be piggybacking.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #54
Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports that the Brewers will likely start Robert Gasser on Sunday against the Twins.
Gasser will already be the 11th pitcher to start a game for the Brewers. The 26-year-old has made six appearances for Triple-A Nashville, and over his 21 1/3 innings, he’s whiffed 32 hitters against eight walks with a 3.74 ERA. He would be worthy of streaming consideration for those looking to take a chance.
