Brewers optioned LHP Robert Gasser to the Arizona Complex League.

The option all the way to the ACL is likely a procedural one, as it’s feasible the Brewers need to create a roster spot in Triple-A before they send the 27-year-old to Nashville. The southpaw has pitched decently — if inconsistently — in his time with Milwaukee, and will almost assuredly be back before the summer ends.

Stallings, 28, will have a chance to make his MLB debut after spending five-plus seasons in the minors with the Orioles and Brewers. The 28-year-old is up as a multi-inning option for the Brew Crew, and Robert Gasser ws sent to the Arizona Complex League to make room on the active roster.

Kazuma Okamoto is not in the starting lineup against the Mets on Tuesday.

It’s Okamoto’s birthday, and his present is not having to face Nolan McLean. The newly 30-year-old will get a breather with Sean Keys getting his first start at third since being promoted to the majors.

Cardinals activated RHP Ryan Fernandez from the 15-day injured list.

Fernandez missed a little over three weeks with lower back pain. The 28-year-old has been excellent prior to that ailment with a 1.86 ERA and 17/5 K/BB in his 9 2/3 innings over seven appearances. He’ll be a mid-to-late inning option now that he’s back with the Cards.

Phillies selected the contract of RHP Lou Trivino from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Trivino was signed in the middle of May to a minor league pact, and the Phillies will give him a chance to help in the middle innings six weeks later. The 34-year-old was once among the better right-handed relievers in baseball, but it simply organizational depth at this stage of his career.

Phillies optioned RHP Chase Shugart to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Shugart gets the boot for Lou Trivino, with Trivino having his contract selected in a corresponding move. Shugart will likely see another opportunity with the Phillies before summer comes to an end, but in a role that serves no fantasy intrigue.

Adley Rutschman is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday’s game against the White Sox.

Rutschman drove in a pair of runs in his second game back from the 7-day concussion injured list, and he’ll get a breather Tuesday; something that will likely happen more consistently to make sure the 28-year-old is fresh after the head injury. Samuel Basallo will handle backstop duties for Tuesday’s game in Rutschman’s absence.

Reds recalled OF Ivan Johnson from Triple-A Louisville.

Johnson gets the call to replace Dane Myers after Myers was placed on the injured list with a shoulder bruise. The 27-year-old will likely just be a bench option in this stint with the Reds.

Reds placed OF Dane Myers on the 10-day injured list with a shoulder bruise.

Myers hurt his shoulder when he crashed into the center-field wall during Monday’s game against the Brewers. He’ll be out at least 10 days with the ailment, but how much time he’ll miss is still up in the air. The 30-year-old outfielder has been replaced on the active roster by Ivan Johnson, with Johnson recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move.
