Yankees INF prospect George Lombard Jr. injured his wrist during Tuesday’s game for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

The Yankees’ top prospect was applying a tag on a stolen base attempt at second base when his wrist appeared to bend backwards. He immediately dropped his glove and held onto his wrist in clear pain. We will await word from the Yankees on the severity of the injury, but it didn’t look good on Tuesday.

Marlins optioned LHP Dax Fulton to Triple-A Jacksonville.

Fulton has allowed two runs on three hits in his seven innings with the Marlins. He should get another chance at some point over the summer.

Marlins activated RHP Eury Pérez (leg) from the 15-day injured list.

This was reported yesterday and is now official. Pérez looked good in his lone rehab start, but wed rather take a wait and see approach then throw him right back into our lineups against the Rangers on Wednesday.

Mets RHP prospect Jack Wenninger allowed four runs on five hits in 3 2/3 innings for Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday.

Wenninger also walked three and struck out four while throwing 46 of his 78 pitches for strikes. The Mets are desperate for help in their big league rotation, but both Wenninger and Jonah Tong have been struggling at Triple-A, which makes it hard for the front office to make a change.

Ronny Mauricio (thumb) went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and three RBI for Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday.

Mauricio fractured his left thumb on May 3rd and was expected to miss six to eight weeks, so he’s right on track in his recovery. With how much the Mets’ bats have slumped, it wouldn’t be out of the question for him to come back and push Brett Baty, Eric Wagaman, or Jared Young back to the minors. Mark Vientos has no minor league options left, which is why he will likely remain.

Twins OF prospect Walker Jeknins went 1-for-3 with a walk and a triple for Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday.

The triple was also off Hunter Greene, who was making a rehab start at Triple-A, so that’s not a bad notch in the belt. Jenkins had been out since the beginning of May with a Grade 2 AC joint sprain in his left shoulder, so his simply playing a full game and looking healthy was a positive step. The Twins will not want to rush him, but there’s a chance he could get some MLB at-bats in the final month or so of the season.

Brewers OF prospect Luis Lara went 5-for-5 with a double, two RBI, and one run scored for Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old continues to rack up base hits and is now hitting .327/.435/.462 with seven home runs, 20 steals, and a 41/46 K/BB ratio in 68 games at Triple-A. Like many Brewers prospects, he doesn’t have tons of power, but he has an elite understanding of the strike zone, good speed, and strong contact skills. His path to the big leagues does appear blocked for right now, but the Brewers did sign him to an extension earlier this month, so they definitely believe he’s close to contributing.

Teoscar Hernández (hamstring) went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday.

It was Hernández’s first rehab game since going on the injured list on May 29th. He’ll likely take the rest of the week to get his at-bats in and then should return to the Dodgers lineup. That will push Ryan Ward back to the bench or the minors.

Landon Knack (intercostal) will make his first rehab start for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday

Knack has been out all season with an intercostal strain, and this will be his first rehab start. The 28-year-old pitched to a 4.89 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, and 42/19 k/BB ratio in 42 1/2 innings for the Dodgers last season. He could provide them with bulk relief work after the All-Star break.

X-rays were negative on Luis Arraez’s foot after he fouled a pitch off his foot Tuesday against the A’s.

Consider Arraez questionable for Wednesday. The Giants could start him at DH if necessary. That would mean sitting Rafael Devers or, more likely, Bryce Eldridge, but that’s a fair move with the A’s starting a lefty.

Robert Suarez was unavailable Tuesday against the Padres because of forearm tightness.

Carlos Carrasco being in a close game in the seventh inning makes a lot more sense now. Suarez, who last pitched Friday and had five days off before that outing, could be back on Wednesday, according to Walt Weiss. Though that’s expecting accurate information from someone who wasn’t forthcoming initially.
