POINT GUARD
Jrue Holiday – Milwaukee (vs. Golden State) - DK: $7,900 / FD: $8,700 / Yahoo: $32
All eyes will be on this exciting game tonight, which should be high-scoring and close. Holiday’s minutes and scoring were both down a bit in the Bucks’ recent b2b, but he should be back in the upper 30’s in MPG and back to scoring in the 20’s as well. Give him a little bit of a boost in the steals department, not that he needs it with nine in the last three games, but Golden State does turn the ball over at the third-highest rate in the league. Holiday is a nice salary compromise at PG with a lot of upside in what should be a great game for DFS all around.
Also Consider: Dejounte Murray, Steph Curry, Brandon Williams, De’Aaron Fox, Darius Garland, Monte Morris, Fred VanVleet (GPP)
SHOOTING GUARD
Tyrese Haliburton – Indiana (at San Antonio) - DK: $9,000 / FD: $8,300 / Yahoo: $34
With Malcolm Brogdon out, and the Spurs on a b2b tonight, Haliburton should continue his hot play. He’s posting big numbers in every statistical category and even though his salary is climbing, it’s still very doable. San Antonio gives the Pacers a big pace bump tonight – they have the fourth-highest pace, and also give up the ninth-most overall fantasy points with above-average DvP to guards. The fact that Haliburton is doing more on-ball work with Brogdon out gives him a good shot at another double-double tonight, while the faster pace bodes well for him to come up with a few more steals, as he has at least two steals in four of his last five games. He previously put up 54 fantasy points against the Spurs. This is another super game to target on both sides, with a 235.5-point total.
Also Consider: Donovan Mitchell, Tyler Herro, Gary Trent Jr., Jordan Poole
SMALL FORWARD
Danuel House Jr. – Utah (vs. Sacramento) - DK: $3,400 / FD: $3,500 / Yahoo: $10
As long as Bojan Bogdanovic is out again tonight, I will roll with House. It wasn’t clear who would be the primary beneficiary, but House played 29 minutes Friday night and returned stats in every category. He wasn’t amazing in any one area, but the fact that he can do a little bit of everything, something we used to see when he got enough playing time in Houston, means that we can rely on him having a reasonable floor for his minimum salary. Of course, a matchup with Sacramento also means that we could get much better than a 15-fantasy point floor game from House, as the Kings are above average in DvP to opposing wings and give up the third-most fantasy points overall.
Also Consider: Buddy Hield, Anthony Edwards, Khris Middleton
Note: With Bogdanovic back in action, and Jimmy Butler ruled out, you could pivot to Max Strus for the minimum at SF.
POWER FORWARD
Isaiah Jackson – Indiana (at San Antonio) - DK: $5,000 / FD: $5,500 / Yahoo: $19
I already sang the praises of this game above, and think Jackson is another smart way to get a piece of the action for a nice salary. You might use Smith here on Yahoo ($14) as Jackson is only C eligible there. Either way, you’re taking advantage of a fast-paced, lax-defense unit where Indiana has a significant rebounding advantage. Foul trouble was a problem for Jackson earlier in the week, but aside from that game where he only played eight minutes (and still put up 16 fantasy points), he is averaging 30 fantasy points per game recently. Jackson is cheaper than Smith, who is also reliably producing near 30 fantasy points per game, on DK and FD. He’s also a favorite of our NBA DFS Optimizer, which has him as the second-best overall dollar per fantasy point value tonight.
Also Consider: Rui Hachimura, Jalen Smith (Yahoo), Trendon Watford, Jonathan Kuminga, Scottie Barnes, Kyle Kuzma, Giannis Antetokounmpo
CENTER
Nikola Jokic – Denver (vs. Toronto) - DK: $12,100 / FD: $11,600 / Yahoo: $56
My biggest spending decision came down to Jokic or Giannis and I went with Jokic thanks in part to a ton of value I like at PF. Jokic has surpassed 75 fantasy points in three of his last four games, two of those being huge triple-doubles. En route to another MVP season, he has the highest ceiling of anyone in the game right now and is very slightly cheaper than Antetokounmpo on all three sites. Also, one of the reasons I like Holiday so much is that the Warriors will likely focus on limiting Giannis as much as is humanly possible. The Raptors are a lesser defensive team than the Warriors by all measures, and these are the kind of splitting hairs you have to do when deciding between superstars on a slate like this.
Also Consider: Bam Adebayo, Rudy Gobert, Karl-Anthony Towns, Daniel Gafford, Domantas Sabonis
Additional Notes
Jonathan Kuminga and Jordan Poole (GSW) While I can’t fit Curry into my idealized lineups tonight, I am rounding out G and F slots with some of the cheaper Warriors in this good-for-fantasy game. Poole is steady as can be with his 35-ish fantasy points per game, and the cheaper Kuminga has also been decent with between 22-38 fantasy points in his last four games (26 vs. Milwaukee the first time they played). It’s worth noting that our Optimizer puts Poole as the second-best value play tonight on DraftKings.
Brandon Williams (G – POR) has been a wild ride lately, soaring between 50 fantasy points and back down to 15…but he’s still very cheap and I’ll take the floor/ceiling combination he offers if his salary is right ($4900 FD –yes!, but $6100 DK and $20 Yahoo (a little high for me – I’m using Poole in the G slot on Yahoo and DK).
Rui Hachimura (F – WAS) is a lineup saver tonight. I haven’t said enough about Washington tonight, given that Portland is the sixth-best overall fantasy matchup with strong DvP to forwards and bigs. Hachimura is an under-the-radar play that has been great lately (25 MPG, 26 fantasy points per game in the last two games) and with Porzingis likely to rest, both he and Daniel Gafford should enjoy additional minutes and usage in the favorable spot.
