POINT GUARD

Davion Mitchell – Sacramento (at Orlando) - DK: $6,000 / FD: $5,900 / Yahoo: $17

It’s hard to beat the savings and production that Mitchell offers tonight. Not only does he get one of the best overall and guard matchups in the league with the Magic, but he’s been crushing it this week against better defensive teams including a 46-fantasy point outburst vs. the Suns. Mitchell is playing a ton of minutes and enjoying a high usage rate, taking plenty of shots. He’s also facilitating better in his last two games, with an average of eight assists per game.

Also Consider: Kyrie Irving, Darius Garland, Malcolm Brogdon, Jevon Carter, Tyus Jones, Fred VanVleet, Kyle Lowry

SHOOTING GUARD

Desmond Bane – Memphis (vs. Milwaukee) - DK: $7,800 / FD: $7,800 / Yahoo: $25

I’ll keep writing his name as long as Morant is out and his salary stays within bounds. He’s become a very consistent option for the Grizzlies and for us with his 20-plus points per game and 5-6 rebounds and assists (or more) to fill up the stat sheet. Vegas has this game with the highest point total and narrowest spread. That the Bucks are without Jrue Holiday and perhaps Giannis Antetokounmpo should make things a bit easier on Bane and the Grizzlies tonight.

Also Consider: Tyrese Haliburton, Tre Mann, Donte DiVincenzo, Will Barton, Ben McLemore

SMALL FORWARD

Jimmy Butler – Miami (vs. Brooklyn) - DK: $8,400 / FD: $8,000 / Yahoo: $35

After the Memphis-Milwaukee game, this is the next most exciting of the slate. Miami was mostly healthy Friday night as the Heat fell to the Knicks, so it will bear watching the news and notes throughout the day to make sure they won’t rest anyone tonight on the b2b. Butler played 37 minutes last night and scored 30 points with seven rebounds and seven assists, so you can’t put the loss on him. Assuming he’s good to go again tonight, Butler should approach 50 fantasy points once again in a great matchup with the Brooklyn nets, who play at a faster pace and rank just 22nd in defensive rating.

Also Consider: Khris Middleton, Justin Anderson, Franz Wagner, Harrison Barnes

POWER FORWARD

Aleksej Pokusevski – Oklahoma City (at Denver) - DK: $5,800 / FD: $6,000 / Yahoo: $19

Pokusevski is a great way to save some money on this slate. The Thunder are huge underdogs to Denver, no surprise, but Poku is playing heavy minutes and returning good value lately. His scoring is up and down, but even when his shot is off he’s able to make up for it with a couple blocks and steals. Denver rates as the fourth-best PF matchup, so if he can get his shot falling, especially his three-pointer, he could easily hit 40 fpts tonight.

Also Consider: Kevin Durant, Scottie Barnes, Jaren Jackson Jr., Trendon Watford, Jae’Sean Tate, Chuma Okeke

CENTER

Nikola Jokic – Denver (vs. Oklahoma City) - DK: $12,000 / FD: $11,600 / Yahoo: $56

Jokic is the most-tempting superstar to pay up for tonight, and it’s not too difficult to make it happen on FanDuel and Yahoo. On DK, you probably have to come down from Butler to really build a lineup you like with Jokic in it. Jokic has put up over 50 fantasy points in the last two meetings between these teams, and both were closer than the Vegas spread indicates (the Thunder won the last one on March 2).

Also Consider: Pascal Siakam, Christian Wood, Mo Bamba, Drew Eubanks, Isaiah Roby

Additional Notes

Tyus Jones (G – MEM) is still very affordable across the board, and like Bane, Jones will benefit from the absence of Holiday in the Bucks defensive-minded rotation. Jones is averaging 30 fantasy points per game over his last three games, all wins for Memphis. At just $5100 (DK), $5300 (FD) and $16 (Yahoo), Jones is an easy fit with a solid floor and 30-plus upside.

Justin Anderson (G/F –IND) offers even more savings and impressive minutes lately. He’s played at least 30 MPG in his last three games, and has shown nice versatility in filling the stat sheet each night. If the Pacers get fully healthy for tonight’s matchup with the Raptors, I’ll get off Anderson, but for now, he’s looking like a cheap filler at your second SG slot (FanDuel) or F (DK or Yahoo).

Franz Wagner (G/F – ORL) Both teams in this game play pretty fast and loose, with the Kings in particular ranking 28th in defensive rating and giving up the third-most overall fantasy points. Wagner’s minutess were down slightly in Wednesday’s loss, a back-to-back situation, but he’s still riding a nice streak of five games with at least 11 points and 22 fantasy points. Previously against Sacramento, Wagner put up 35 fantasy points thanks to his ability to contribute in every category. He’s not a guy I’m building around, but I love the matchup and price combo he has tonight.

GPP Pivot

Kevin Durant (F – BKN) doesn’t get a great matchup with the Heat, the league’s least generous team in terms of fantasy points allowed to opponents. But he’s been at his best in tough matchups and close games all his life. He’s coming off consecutive 60-plus efforts against Utah and Memphis, case in point. Kyrie Irving has also been hot, though, and I think some people will avoid trying to pick one Nets star and just spend at center or on Giannis if he’s available tonight, allowing you to get Durant at lower roster percentages than normal tonight.
