POINT GUARD

Trae Young – Atlanta (vs. Washington) - DK: $10,500 / FD: $10,400 / Yahoo: $46

This article is aimed at getting you off to a solid start in lineup building. This final week is going to continue to be crazy, right up to tip-off, so you have to build in some stability and leave yourself room to take advantage of late-breaking value. Young and the Hawks get to play in what should be a high-scoring and fantasy-friendly game (over/under is 233.5 points). They are still competing for seeding, and Young is still playing all out. Young averages over 51 fantasy points per game at home and has surpassed the 55 mark in three of his last four games. Washington’s 25th ranked defense is unlikely to slow him down tonight and his salary is not hard to accommodate.

Also Consider: Kyrie Irving, Luka Doncic, Cameron Payne

SHOOTING GUARD

Jalen Brunson – Dallas (at Detroit) - DK: $6,100 / FD: $5,800 / Yahoo: $22

The Mavericks are looking to stay in the Top 4 in the West, and a win tonight goes a long way toward that goal. Luckily for them, the Pistons rank 23rd in defensive rating, 30th in rebounding, and offer a pace bump. Dallas is a decent sized favorite on the road, and Brunson is someone I’m happier spending down on compared to one of the more expensive Mavs’ stars (Doncic or Porzingis) in the event of a blowout. Brunson’s minutes are stable regardless of win/lose or the margin, which makes him a nice floor play tonight. If some great value opens up at SG and it allows you to add someone like Durant to tonight’s lineups, Brunson is the first to go for me.

Also Consider: Donovan Mitchell, Seth Curry, Jaylen Brown, Zach LaVine, Kevin Huerter

SMALL FORWARD

De’Andre Hunter – Atlanta (vs. Washington) - DK: $4,800 / FD: $4,600 / Yahoo: $13

It seems unlikely that the Hawks will push Danilo Gallinari to play tonight with Hunter doing fine in his absence. With Bogdan Bogdanovic also questionable and Lou Williams out, it is a great time to roster Hunter on the cheap. As noted above, it’s a favorable spot for the Hawks, and Hunter is coming off two consecutive solid games where he exceeded 30 fantasy points with a full and balanced stat line – nothing that isn’t totally repeatable tonight.

Also Consider: Jayson Tatum, Reggie Bullock, Mikal Bridges, Cameron Johnson, Deni Avdija, Jaylen Hoard

POWER FORWARD

Patrick Williams – Chicago (vs. Boston) - DK: $3,500 / FD: $4,800 / Yahoo: $12

The Bulls are on a b2b tonight, and they are locked into the fifth or sixth seed in the East. It seems likely that DeMar DeRozan could rest or be limited tonight, but even if not, Williams is worth a look for his dirt cheap salary and upside. In over 30 MPG, Williams has returned an average of about 28 fantasy points per game in his last three games, taking full advantage of the opportunity given him, and though the tough opponents keep coming tonight (Boston after Miami, Milwaukee, and the Clippers), Williams is inexpensive enough to warrant a roster spot in any lineups tonight.

Also Consider: Kevin Durant, Braxton Key, Obi Toppin

CENTER

Rudy Gobert – Utah (vs. Oklahoma City) - DK: $7,900 / FD: $8,800 / Yahoo: $34

Utah is also in a position where a blowout is likely, but Gobert is the most consistent center option on the slate tonight and easily the better value compared to Porzingis and Vucevic. The Thunder are an obviously great matchup and the Jazz are motivated to win in the unlikely event that they could move up to the four-seed in the West. That should be enough to allow Gobert to get to his typical 40ish fantasy points tonight.

Also Consider: Nikola Vucevic, Clint Capela, Kristaps Porzingis

Additional Notes

Kyrie Irving (G – BKN) is fitting into my lineups with ease tonight. Brooklyn is motivated, playing in New York, and this is actually one of the best games by the numbers – a high point total and relatively narrow spread (Nets minus-5.5). Irving is coming off a very nice 42-point game against Houston, and has been posting solid assist and steal numbers to go along with his hot scoring. He’s a strong addition to any lineup tonight.

Cameron Payne (G – PHX) and other Suns will come more into play if Phoenix decides to rest anyone on the b2b tonight. They are locked into the 1-seed in the West, so there’s really no need to push it and they’ve been resting stars already. The Clippers also have nothing to play for, but this could end up being a fun spot for fantasy value.

Oklahoma City Thunder Speaking of fun fantasy value, the Thunder were the key to last night’s high scores. With only a handful of active players, guys like Jaylen Hoard, Isaiah Roby, Zavier Simpson, Olivier Sarr, and Georgios Kalaitzakis played all the minutes and all returned great value.
