Giants RB Najee Harris rushed 11 times for 39 yards in Friday’s preseason game against the Jets, adding one reception for 20 yards.

Harris saw his first game action since he suffered a torn Achilles last year. The 28-year-old running back had 39 yards on 11 carries and his longest run was for nine yards. Harris added a 20-yard reception, giving him 59 scrimmage yards on 12 opportunities. Harris was brought in to be a “significant contributor” to the Giants, according to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan. He looked the part in Friday’s preseason finale against the Jets.

Harris was playing Cam Skattebo to a usage standstill before his fourth quarter giveaway in a game where the G-Men were clinging to a 27-24 lead. He never touched the ball afterwards, going over 11 minutes without a handle as Skattebo saw seven touches during that timespan. That’s what a fumble benching looks like. Coach John Harbaugh will likely forgive and forget going into Week 5 against the Commanders, but not to the degree a timeshare starts developing. This might have been Harris’ one shot in that regard. Even with injuries mounting and bye weeks beginning, Harris is a tough stash in 12-team leagues.
  • NYG Running Back #23
Devin Singletary was inactive this week and Tyrone Tracy only touched the ball once, leaving nearly all of the backup running back touches to Harris. He gashed the Titans for 5.2 yards per carry but wasn’t involved in the receiving game, limiting his fantasy value. Harris is the clear backup to Cam Skattebo, but he won’t see enough touches to be worth a FLEX spot when the Giants take on the Cardinals next week.
  • NYG Running Back #29
We can’t endorse relying on anyone in this backfield as a surefire bellcow in the event that Cam Skattebo gets hurt or is ineffective enough to lose playing time. It seems like it will be hard to rely on Tracy to have a major role this year with Harris in town.
  • NYG Running Back #22
This will be the first look we get at Harris since he suffered a torn Achilles in Week 3 last season. The 28-year-old vet signed a deal with the Giants less than two weeks ago, but could end up being a “significant contributor” to the Giants’ backfield, per ESPN’s Jordan Raanan. Whether or not Harris has any fantasy value as a standalone option with Cam Skattebo healthy is to be determined, but he could be the leader in the clubhouse to be the next man up should Skattebo ever miss time, making him an intriguing late-round pick in fantasy drafts.
  • NYG Running Back #22
It’s worth noting that Cam Skattebo continues to be the first running back up in practice, but it sounds like the Giants could have a vision for Harris, who signed with the team on a one-year, minimum-salary deal, per Raanan. Harris is returning from a torn Achilles that ended his 2025 season in Week 3, but there’s plenty of room for him to earn snaps behind Skattebo once he gets up to speed. A blown pass-blocking assignment by Tyrone Tracy in the team’s first preseason game against the Vikings raised immediate questions about whether or not the Giants will trust Tracy in pass-blocking situations this season, and Harris has proven to be a capable pass-blocker in the past. At this point, it’s hard to imagine Harris having any standalone fantasy value in a healthy Giants backfield, but he could be worth a handcuff to Skattebo in deeper leagues based on these latest reports.
  • NYG Running Back #22
Harris visited the Giants on Monday and the connection is obvious with Greg Roman on the coaching staff after he was the OC with the Chargers, where Harris played last year. The Giants maybe aren’t the ideal landing spot with Cam Skattebo, Tyrone Tracy and Devin Singletary all healthy at the moment. Harris should work as the RB3 with occasional opportunities to cut into Skattebo’s workload.
  • FA Running Back #22
This comes two weeks after The Athletic’s Dan Duggan said the team could look to add a veteran running back before the team’s season opener. Harris, 28, suffered a torn Achilles in Week 3 of last season and has been working toward a return. He met with the Raiders earlier this offseason and will now meet with the Giants, who have a relatively crowded backfield with Cam Skattebo, Tyrone Tracy, and a proven vet in Devin Singletary. If Harris were to join the Giants, we would expect him to work behind both Skattebo and Tracy.
  • NYG Running Back #44
Duggan buried this thought in a lengthy social media post last Wednesday. He says Giants RBs Cam Skattebo and Tyrone Tracy “are fine,” but notes that the front office was “open to upgrading to a premier back,” referring to Cardinals rookie RB Jeremiyah Love. Duggan “could see a vet signing,” like free agent RB Najee Harris (Achilles) once he is healthy, “or a trade.” A veteran like Harris would slide into the RB3 role, and might occasionally steal enough touches to hurt Skattebo’s weekly ceiling outcomes. A premier back would have a much larger impact, but a player like that would obviously be much harder to acquire at this point. That outcome seems far less likely at this point, but it wouldn’t be surprising if the Giants added another name to the backfield.

Harris visited the Seahawks last week as well. The 28-year-old running back is generating interest as he progresses through his rehab program. He suffered a season-ending Achilles tendon rupture in the Chargers’ Week 3 win over the Broncos last year. During his short 2025 season, he rushed 15 times for 61 yards and caught 3-of-3 targets for 25 yards.
  • FA Running Back #22
Harris visited with the Seahawks on Wednesday and now has a visit with the Raiders on tap. The 28-year-old running back is still recovering from a torn Achilles he suffered last season, but has been seen running at full speed in recent videos. While Harris will need to be able to do more than run in a straight line when he returns to football activities, the veteran running back is clearly trending in the right direction ahead of training camp. Harris would operate as the clear RB2 in Vegas behind Ashton Jeanty if he were to join the Raiders, but could find a role in head coach Klint Kubiak’s offense, given Kubiak’s tendency to utilize multiple backs. Harris rushed 15 times for 61 scoreless yards before his injury last season, but strung together four-straight 1,000-yard campaigns with the Steelers to start his career.

Devaughn Vele caught 6-of-9 targets for 54 yards and a touchdown in the Saints’ Week 4 loss to the Falcons.

Vele’s nine targets ranked behind only alpha Chris Olave, although he was headed for another modest fantasy outing before a garbage time touchdown with less than two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter of the blowout loss. Vele has yet to eclipse 69 yards through the first month of play as he continues to operate in an intermediate role for a Saints team struggling to attack downfield. Fantasy managers could consider sitting Vele against the ferocious Vikings defense in Week 5.

Juwan Johnson caught 6-of-8 targets for 59 yards in the Saints’ Week 4 loss to the Falcons.

Johnson saw a slight uptick in snaps and routes after Noah Fant was inactive with an abdominal injury but returned a modest receiving line while being kept out of the end zone. The towering veteran finished third on the team in targets behind Chris Olave and Devaughn Vele, the latter of whom scored the only receiving touchdown in a game that saw the two teams combine for seven rushing scores. Johnson remains a back-end TE1 for as long as rookie Jordyn Tyson remains sidelined, which appears likely to persist for another few weeks, at minimum. That holds true ahead of a Week 5 meeting with the vaunted Vikings defense.

Chris Olave caught 8-of-12 targets for 116 yards in the Saints’ Week 4 loss to the Falcons.

Olave found himself with a relatively quiet receiving line in the first half as the Saints struggled to consistently move the football, something that has become far too familiar under head coach Kellen Moore’s tutelage. As has been the case for some time, Olave got going after the break, ending with his third 100-yard game in four tries, now trailing only CeeDee Lamb in receiving yards through the first month of the season. Fantasy managers will want to monitor the electric wide receiver’s practice status in the coming days after he pulled himself out of the game on the team’s final possession with some sort of ailment. If healthy, Olave remains an elite WR1 ahead of a Week 5 meeting with the Vikings.

Alvin Kamara rushed seven times for 23 yards and two touchdowns in the Saints’ Week 4 loss to the Falcons, adding 35 yards on five receptions.

The Saints mustered just 16 running back carries in the first game without Travis Etienne, gaining just 50 yards on the ground in the blowout loss. The New Orleans offensive line was completely out-classed by the stout Atlanta defensive front. Kamara briefly departed with a knee injury that required two trips to the medical tent but would return to score his second touchdown of the evening in the fourth quarter. Kamara should continue to lead the backfield in the absence of Etienne and suddenly finds himself as an RB2 in fantasy circles ahead of a Week 5 meeting with the Vikings.

Tyler Shough completed 30-of-48 passes for 286 yards and one touchdown in the Saints’ 45-24, Week 4 loss to the Falcons, adding five yards on two carries.

Shough and the Saints stayed true to recent form as they quickly fell into a 14-point hole in the first quarter, with the team now averaging an almost eight point deficit at the half since head coach Kellen Moore took over to start the 2025 season. The team was unable to reproduce the second half magic they so frequently muster behind an overmatched offensive line. Shough needed a late touchdown toss to Devaughn Vele with less than two minutes to play to give fantasy managers something of value. Moore and Shough have their work cut out for them with Brian Flores’ relentless defense coming to town in Week 5, where Shough will be on the QB1/2 border in fantasy circles.

Jahan Dotson caught 2-of-3 targets for 54 yards and a touchdown in the Falcons’ Week 4 win over the Saints.

Dotson continues to operate as the team’s WR2 opposite Drake London but remains unlikely to return consistent fantasy production in an offense heavily concentrated on its top two options in London and Bijan Robinson. Dotson’s touchdown came in the fourth quarter with the team cruising, pushing the lead to 21 points with under 10 minutes to play. Fantasy managers can safely keep Dotson on the bench ahead of a Week 5 meeting with the Ravens in Atlanta.

Kyle Pitts caught all three targets for 47 yards in the Falcons’ Week 4 win over the Saints.

Pitts played just one snap on the team’s first two possessions before seeing modest usage the rest of the game. His counting stats were padded in the second half with a 28-yard, catch-and-run reception on a play action pass out of the flat. Pitts isn’t getting the snaps or route participation to return consistent fantasy production and is best left on fantasy benches for as long as Drake London remains healthy. That won’t change ahead of a Week 5 meeting with the Ravens.

Drake London caught 5-of-6 targets for 96 yards in the Falcons’ Week 4 win over the Saints.

London turned in his second consecutive usable fantasy week with Michael Penix under center. The low volume can primarily be attributed to just 20 Penix pass attempts in a game Bijan Robinson and Brian Robinson combined for 207 yards and five touchdowns on the ground on 33 carries. London could be tasked with more volume when the Falcons host the Ravens in Week 5, for which he will remain an unquestioned WR1 in fantasy circles.

Brian Robinson rushed 14 times for 62 yards and three touchdowns in the Falcons’ Week 4 win over the Saints, adding five yards on one reception.

Robinson watched from the sidelines as Bijan cashed in on two first quarter rushing scores, getting in on the fun in the second quarter with a touchdown from four yards out. He would add one from eight yards out in the third quarter and cap off his outburst with an 11-yard touchdown scamper in the fourth quarter to send the Falcons to a 2-2 record ahead of a Week 5 meeting with the Ravens. Brian Robinson remains an elite handcuff but is unlikely to return consistent fantasy production for as long as Bijan remains healthy, despite the eruption against the Saints.

Bijan Robinson rushed 19 times for 145 yards and two touchdowns in the Falcons’ Week 4 win over the Saints, adding two yards on one reception.

Week 4 marked Robinson’s second consecutive game going over 100 yards with two touchdowns on the ground, this time aided by a 59-yard touchdown run on his first touch of the game. The Falcons tied a franchise record with five rushing scores, with backfield mate Brian Robinson adding three to the two of Bijan. The return of quarterback Michael Penix has given the Falcons the threat of passing after dropping their first two games of the season behind suboptimal play from the position, and nobody has benefited more from reduced numbers in the box than Robinson. He’ll look to keep the momentum going as a top-tier RB1 when the Falcons host the Ravens in Week 5.
