Isaac TeSlaa failed to catch his only target in the Lions’ Week 1 win over the Saints.

TeSlaa did his usual wind sprinting in this game and failed to bring in his only target on the day. With stars at nearly every skill position in Detroit, there simply isn’t any room for a meaningful TeSlaa role. He is not on the fantasy radar heading into Week 2.

Jared Goff gave TeSlaa two chances to contribute today. The first was a 3rd-and-13 pass on the Lions’ second drive, just beyond the sticks, in which TeSlaa went aerial and fully horizontal, trying to make the diving catch. The pass, unfortunately, fell incomplete. Goff went back to him on the fifth drive, firing a pass — just a touch too high — to the second-year wide receiver who was wide open on a crossing route, racing across the back of the end zone. TeSlaa leapt for it and got a hand on it, but he couldn’t come down with it. TeSlaa takes his goose egg into the Lions’ Week 6 bye. With any luck, it hatches into a FLEX-relevant stat line against the Packers in Week 7, though he remains a boom-bust pass catcher.
  • DET Wide Receiver #18
TeSlaa led the Lions in receiving on the back of a 49-yard grab late in the game. He was otherwise an afterthought in the offense, finishing the game with a nine percent target share. TeSlaa is averaging three targets per game, which simply isn’t enough to get him into the FLEX mix. He is buried in the WR6/7 range headed into Week 4.
  • DET Wide Receiver #18
Even after TeSlaa’s training camp struggles extended into the Lions’ first preseason game, Detroit doesn’t seem worried about the 24-year-old receiver. TeSlaa had his first target go through his hands and off his helmet for an interception and later couldn’t hang on to a fourth down pass in the loss to the Bengals on Thursday. Still, his only competitor for the WR3 role is Greg Dortch, a journeyman receiver who also failed to catch a pass in the first preseason game. The Lions WR3 isn’t likely to be a fantasy-relevant role when everyone else in the offense is healthy, but Detroit would still like to see more development from their third-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
  • DET Wide Receiver #18
The Lions’ established starters did not play. Lions WR Greg Dortch could be challenging TeSlaa’s WR3 role, although Dortch went 0-for-1 as a receiver as well. TeSlaa out-snapped him 15-7 on the first three drives. TeSlaa took two more snaps on the fourth drive, sans Dortch, which ended in a turnover. This is a position battle to keep an eye on.
  • DET Wide Receiver #18
We weren’t expecting a major target share for TeSlaa anyway in this offense, and he makes his living making contested catches, but it’s still a little disappointing that he hasn’t taken more of a step forward from his rookie season so far. TeSlaa is probably only a consideration in deeper leagues at this time.
  • DET Wide Receiver #18
TeSlaa looks to be penciled into the three-wide set next to Jameson Williams and Amon-Ra St. Brown. It’s hard to understand how TeSlaa will generate much in the way of targets — he sure didn’t last year when he was on the field — but the Lions could have a good enough offense that TeSlaa finds his way on the WR4 radar this year either way. TeSlaa notched six touchdowns on 27 targets last year.
  • DET Wide Receiver #18
TeSlaa played sparingly for most of the season until Kalif Raymond started dealing with an ankle injury near Thanksgiving. TeSlaa’s numbers boomed to an average of 44 snaps a game for the rest of the season. The target rate wasn’t exactly fantasy-friendly, but TeSlaa managed six touchdowns on just 27 targets last year and figures to be an interesting fantasy football player in 2026, if not a downright useful one.
  • DET Wide Receiver #18
TeSlaa emerged as a primary option for the Lions in Week 13 after Amon-Ra St. Brown departed with injury, finishing off the back half of his rookie season as the clear WR3 for the Lions. That effectively shifted Kalif Raymond into a situational role, something likely to carry forward into the 2026 season. TeSlaa ends his rookie year with 16 catches for 239 yards, flashing abilities in the red zone through six touchdowns. Although unlikely to immediately see his role grow while playing alongside St. Brown and Jameson Williams, TeSlaa appears likely to step into a bigger role when one of the main receivers goes down. That gives him legitimate best ball upside considering he will be playing for an offense that has finished in the top five in scoring in each of the previous four seasons.
  • DET Wide Receiver #18
TeSlaa made another impressive leaping effort for a touchdown in the first half in the red zone for the only touchdown of the game for Detroit. The rookie’s athleticism is obvious. His fit in the offense is a little more questionable. TeSlaa could get a chance to show out in a game without playoff ramifications against the Bears in Week 18.
  • DET Wide Receiver #18
TeSlaa’s touchdown grab this week was relatively routine for his lofty standards. He climbed that ladder on a hole shot into the end zone and was spun around by a collision with multiple defenders. For most players, it would have been an incredible addition to the highlight reel. It was just another Sunday for TeSlaa. The rookie is up to five touchdown grabs on the year. Incredibly, the seven targets equaled TeSlaa’s last month of work in the box score. He will be a boom/bust WR6 for his Week 17 date with the Vikings.

Titans CEO Burke Nihill said the organization fully believes in coach Robert Saleh and general manager Mike Borgonzi.

The Titans are 0-5 and have won only three games since Borgonzi joined the team prior to the 2025 season. Despite this, Nihill told ESPN’s Turron Davenport that he feels a “sense of stability” in the organization. Davenport, in turn, notes that the Titans “have fired a coach or general manager every year since 2022.” Nihill apologized to Titans fans, saying ownership and team executives feel “a sense of grief” about the endless losses, and “feel the sense of responsibility to deliver” for fans moving forward. We wish them luck.

Caleb Williams (hamstring) posted a video to social media indicating he will play in Week 6 against the Falcons.

Normally, social media posts don’t count for much. However, earlier today, Bears coach Ben Johnson said that the Bears should have more clarity on Williams’ status by the end of the day, after the medical team put Williams through “the final stress tests” in his return-to-play program. We are inferring that Williams’ social media post suggests he passed the final medical testing, though we have not officially received word that this is indeed the case. For now, we tentatively expect Williams to play on Sunday. He can be treated as a mid-to-low QB1.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that the NFL “could step back in and create a longer suspension” for Josh Jacobs if the video showing his altercation with a woman is released.

Fowler is surprisingly saying the quiet part out loud here, though this has been the general consensus for fans and analysts for a while. Jacobs is scheduled to come off the NFL’s Commissioner Exempt list on Monday. The NFL is reportedly trying to get hold of the video, and Jacobs has sued to block its release. Fowler adds that the woman’s attorney said her client has not participated in the league’s investigation due to privacy concerns. If the video stays under wraps, Jacobs could be allowed to continue playing in the NFL.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that the Eagles will decide whether to place Jalen Hurts (blood clot) on short-term injured reserve on Saturday.

Fowler reportedly spoke to “some people who are hopeful” that Hurts can avoid injured reserve. He described the situation as being “very much touch and go” and said Tanner McKee will “probably” start multiple games. The Eagles go on bye in Week 10, so if Hurts does land on injured reserve, the Eagles’ Week 11 game against the Steelers would be his earliest possible return.

Christian Kirk (calf) was limited on Friday.

Kirk’s inability to practice fully despite his lengthy injured reserve stint suggests he might need another week or two to get ready for an NFL game. Still, the 49ers don’t face the Commanders until Monday night. If active, he could end up warranting FLEX treatment with Mike Evans (ribs/Achilles) ailing.

Nick Bosa (calf) did not practice on Friday.

Bosa is on the wrong side of questionable despite prior reports and coaching comments indicating he has a chance to face the Commanders on Monday night. For now, we expect Bosa to miss another week, though the extra day off could help him return.

Mike Evans (ribs/Achilles) did not practice on Friday.

Even for an iron man like Evans, this is a little concerning. Frankly, we still expect Evans to play, but two missed practices due partially to Achilles “soreness” are less than ideal. The 49ers face the Commanders on Monday night. Making a backup plan is worthwhile at this time.

Ashton Jeanty (foot) was removed from the injury report and will play in Week 6 against the Bills.

The Raiders’ starting running back is good to go for what should be a fantasy-friendly game environment. The Raiders encouragingly stopped listing Jeanty with an ankle injury this week. Hopefully, his remaining plantar fasciitis issue subsides before long as well. Jeanty is a low-end RB1 in Week 6.

Brock Bowers (knee) was removed from the injury report and will play in Week 6 against the Bills.

One of these days, Bowers will be removed from the injury report for good. For now, we will continue to let you know that the Raiders’ star player gets a half day on Wednesday before practicing in full for the rest of the week. Bowers is the overall TE1 in fantasy football each week. Start him accordingly.

Austin Ekeler (chest) was limited on Friday.

Ekeler continues to practice in a limited capacity while wearing a red non-contact jersey. He has a chance to play on Monday night, but he is clearly hurting. Jacory Croskey-Merritt (groin) remains sidelined and Rachaad White (shoulder) has been downgraded to limited. It’s an ailing backfield.
