Drew Lock completed 19-of-26 passes for 235 yards and three touchdowns in the Seahawks’ 31-7, Week 2 win over the Cardinals.

Lock looks great, and the Seahawks aren’t asking too much of him. The fill-in starter got things going with a perfectly placed 82-yard touchdown pass to Jaxon Smith-Njigba to cap the first drive. He linked up with Smith-Njigba for two more scores as the game progressed. At one point, Lock willingly took a hard hit as he stood tall against pressure before completing a pass to his No. 1 wide receiver along the sideline, which led to a successful field goal a few plays later. The Seahawks could get QB Sam Darnold (glute) back next week, but Lock warrants streaming QB1 consideration against the Commanders if he remains the starter.

This means Darnold will likely be listed as a limited participant today. The plan is to ramp him up as the week goes on, and Macdonald said the team would like to have a decision by Friday on whether Darnold will face the Commanders this week. The Seahawks’ quarterback has been sidelined since straining a glute tendon in Week 1. He will probably need to be treated as a QB2 with QB1 upside in his first game back, but his practice participation will clarify his readiness.
  • SEA Quarterback #14
To be clear, Rapoport’s tone was controlled and cautionary here. Darnold can only be considered questionable, at best. The Seahawks’ quarterback “is healing faster than anyone had imagined,” but Rapoport adds that the team wants to be “cautious” with him. Backup QB Drew Lock should probably be viewed as the presumptive Week 3 starter at this time, but it sounds like Darnold can reasonably be expected to play in Week 4 at the latest.
  • SEA Quarterback #14
FOX Sports’ Megan Olivi reported on Sunday that the Seahawks “are aiming” to have Darnold play in Week 3 against the Commanders. It goes without saying that Darnold will need to get a few days of practice in if he hopes to suit up, making this a big week for the Seahawks’ QB1 as he looks to get back on the field. Darnold’s injury wasn’t as severe as the team initially feared when he exited in Week 1 against the Patriots, but with a game against the 0-2 Commanders on the horizon, it’s possible the team doesn’t look to rush him back to the field if he’s not close to 100 percent. His practice status will be worth monitoring throughout the week, but if he’s held out, Drew Lock will make at least one more start in what should be a plus matchup for fantasy managers.
  • SEA Quarterback #14
Darnold’s rehab is reportedly progressing well, but coach Mike Macdonald acknowledged to Olivi that the team just has to wait and see how Darnold responds to treatment next week. His potential Week 3 return is no sure thing, and QB Drew Lock is filling in admirably thus far. Darnold’s practice participation should provide clues as to his availability.
  • SEA Quarterback #14
Rapoport did note that Darnold is expected to practice in some capacity next week. It sounds like the team will use next week’s sessions to give him an extended ramp-up ahead of Week 4, though a Week 3 return isn’t out of the question. Drew Lock will start this week and probably next week as well. He is in the QB2 mix for Superflex leagues, though managers without a second quarterback spot don’t need to worry about Lock for now.
  • SEA Quarterback #14
The Seahawks will roll with QB Drew Lock as this week’s starter. He is backed up by QB Jalen Milroe. Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said he does not “anticipate” putting Darnold on injured reserve, so he should be back before Week 6. Lock can be treated as a volatile QB2 against the Cardinals this week.
  • SEA Quarterback #14
Prior reports described Darnold’s injury as a hip issue, and the Ringer’s Tom Pelissero reported last week that Darnold had suffered an “unusual muscle strain.” Florio cites a report from FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer from earlier today, in which Glazer said Darnold actually suffered a glute tendon injury. Evidently, the injury is so unusual that, per Glazer, the team is gathering four second opinions to determine a course of action. Darnold is not expected to require surgery, but missing four-plus weeks could land him on injured reserve. The Seahawks will not be required to make that decision until late next week, though. Regardless, Glazer said QB Drew Lock will start next week against the Cardinals. He is a QB2.

The report comes from the Ringer’s Tom Pelissero, who adds that “there is no timetable” for Darnold’s recovery, which will be based on “how he feels and how he recovers.” Pelissero referred to QB Drew Lock as “the likely starter” for the Seahawks’ Week 2 game against the Cardinals.

Darnold will undergo more testing tomorrow to gain more info on the hip injury he suffered in the first quarter of Seattle’s Week 1 win over New England. The good news is that a season-ending hip fracture has been ruled out, though there are still other serious injuries on the table. Drew Lock will start for the Seahawks until Darnold is able to return. Lock threw for 187 yards and a score in the team’s win over the Pats.
  • SEA Quarterback #2
Lock took over for Sam Darnold after he suffered a hip injury at the end of Seattle’s opening drive. Darnold was initially listed as questionable to return but was ruled out for good just before halftime. Lock acquitted himself well, averaging 8.5 yards per attempt with just one sack. He also added two carries for 13 yards on the ground. Jaxon Smith-Njigba did most of the work for him with a 45-yard touchdown grab in the fourth quarter. All but four of the yards came after the catch. Still, Lock took care of the ball, peppered his best receiver with targets, and came away with the win. If Darnold is out for an extended period, Lock would be near the back of the QB2 mix for fantasy purposes. Superflex managers will want to take a flyer on him unless we get good news about Darnold over the next few days.

Panthers head coach Dave Canales said Xavier Legette (knee) will likely be a game-day decision for Week 3 against the Browns.

Legette popped up on Thursday’s injury report as a DNP and was limited on Friday. The third-year receiver underwent an MRI, but it doesn’t sound like it revealed anything too concerning given his practice status for Friday. Even if he is active, Legette isn’t on the fantasy radar this week. He’s managed just two receptions for 64 yards on four targets so far this season.

Jalen Coker (ankle) is questionable for Week 3 against the Browns.

Coker is questionable, but it sounds like he’s trending to play after head coach Dave Canales said he expects him to be on the field. Coker was limited in Wednesday and Friday’s practices, which is another good sign for his availability. Through two games, Coker has caught 16 passes for 204 yards and two touchdowns and can be treated as a WR2 this week.

Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said Jonathan Allen (knee) will play in Week 3 against the Steelers.

Allen was a DNP for each of the Bengals’ first two practices but was able to get on the field to close out the week. Allen has been a solid pickup for the Bengals’ revamped defense this season. He’s tallied five tackles while also recording a sack in both games and should have plenty of chances to get after Aaron Rodgers this weekend. Taylor said DT B.J. Hill (Achilles) is doubtful to play this week.

Titans head coach Robert Saleh said Tony Pollard (ankle) will be a full participant in Friday’s practice.

Pollard being upgraded to a full participant on Friday suggests he will be removed from the injury report heading into the weekend. Pollard has rushed 21 times for 99 yards this season while adding another two receptions on three targets. With rain expected in Sunday’s forecast, the Titans could lean heavily on Pollard and the ground game against a Giants team that’s allowing 5.0 yards per carry through two games.

Jalen Coker (ankle) was seen practicing on Friday.

We’ll get an official status update on Coker shortly, but according to Panthers writer Joe Person, Coker “looked good running routes” during the media portion of practice. Coker was listed as limited during Wednesday’s practice and is dealing with the same ankle injury he played through last week. The fact that he was able to get on the practice field Friday is a good sign for his Week 3 availability against the Browns.

Dolphins HC Jeff Hafley said he expects WR Chris Bell (knee) to play in Week 3 against the Chiefs.

Bell said Thursday that he expects to play, but Hafley added to that expectation when speaking with the media Friday. The rookie third-rounder has drawn just three targets this season while running 31 routes, but he could see an uptick in targets with Caleb Douglas (ankle) officially ruled out. Bell will be hard to trust as anything more than a WR4 in an offense that currently ranks 30th in total pass attempts and 24th in passing yards.

Dolphins HC Jeff Hafley said Caleb Douglas (ankle) will not play in Week 3 against the Chiefs.

Douglas wasn’t able to get on the practice field this week and will officially be sidelined in Sunday’s game against the Chiefs. The rookie receiver has caught seven passes for 110 scoreless yards this season and is second among Dolphins receivers with 10 targets. Rookie Chris Bell (knee) is expected to play and could see a slight increase in targets this week, but this is a tough group of pass-catchers to trust against a solid Chiefs defense.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports 49ers DE Nick Bosa will miss “a few weeks” after pulling his calf in Thursday’s practice.

According to Schefter, the 49ers are deciding whether to place Bosa on injured reserve. The 28-year-old pass-rusher has yet to register a sack in his two games played this season and has tallied two sacks in five games since 2025. It’s just the latest in a string of injuries that has plagued Bosa in recent years. If he lands on injured reserve, the earliest he would be eligible to return is in Week 7 against the Falcons.

Mason Taylor (thumb) will not play in Week 3 against the Lions.

Head coach Aaron Glenn said on Friday morning that Taylor would miss Sunday’s game after being sidelined in practice throughout the week. It was reported on Tuesday that Taylor would be week-to-week with his injury, so it isn’t all to surprising to learn that he will be sidelined for this one. Taylor has -2 yards on two receptions this season and wouldn’t have been on the fantasy radar even if he was active.

ESPN’s Rich Cimini said it “sounds like there’s some concern” over Adonai Mitchell’s finger injury.

Mitchell popped up as a limited participant on Thursday’s injury report, and while we don’t have the specifics, Cimini’s report is a bit concerning ahead of Week 3’s game against the Lions. Mitchell popped up for 12 targets in last week’s loss to the Packers and is firmly on the streaming radar against a Lions defense that has struggled out of the gate, but we’ll have to see if he can at least get a questionable tag entering the weekend in order to have any confidence heading into Sunday. Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said Mitchell will be limited in Friday’s practice and that the injury came after his finger got caught in a jersey. We should have a better sense of his availability when the team releases its final injury report later in the day.
