Trevor Lawrence completed 17-of-29 attempts for 189 yards and one interception in the Jaguars’ Week 2 loss against the Broncos, adding two rushes for six yards.

The Jaguars were relatively run-heavy against Denver a week after the Broncos were shredded by Ken Walker and the Chiefs. Lawrence mostly checked down in this one, targeting Parker Washington a team-high 12 times. Brian Thomas, Jr., meanwhile, had two untimely drops, one that appeared to frustrate Lawrence. Lawrence’s interception came on a poor throw to Washington near the sideline. He’ll look to bounce back next week against a stingy New England secondary.

Lawrence gave fantasy managers what they needed with a solid box score, but he was not the reason the Jags won this game. Lawrence struggled under pressure, throwing one ugly interception while putting the ball on the ground twice via sack-fumbles. Both were recovered by the Jags. The offense was also a catastrophe in the red zone, though a series of penalties and bizarre play calls are largely to blame there. Down by one with eight seconds left, it looked like the team’s struggles on offense would be too much to overcome. Instead, Ameer Abdullah returned a kickoff 53 yards to set up a walkoff field goal from Cam Little. If the Jags can clean things up after an uncharacteristically sloppy game, Lawrence will remain a mid-range QB1 for Week 6 versus the Texans.

The Jaguars offensive operation was far from clean against the Bengals; the team as a whole tallied 10 penalties for 100 yards by halftime. Lawrence was sacked four times behind a struggling offensive line but still put together an efficient game. He found Brian Thomas Jr. for the game’s first touchdown as time wound down in the first half and found tight end Brenton Strange for seven of his 18 completions. Despite a relatively pedestrian showing, Lawrence comes away with zero turnovers and the win. He will be a top-12 fantasy option for Week 5 against the Eagles in London.

Lawrence’s big statistical day could have been bigger if he hadn’t inexplicably taken a knee at the one yard line on a QB rush with about eight minutes left in the fourth quarter. Bhayshul Tuten would go on to score a rushing touchdown a few plays later. Lawrence picked apart of the New England secondary with very little pressure in his face, targeting former Patriots WR Jakobi Meyers heavily and connecting with three different pass catchers for touchdowns — including Parker Washington, who had another score called back. Lawrence, with one of the highest weekly floors in the game, will again be a top-12 QB option in Week 4 against Bengals in what should be a high-scoring game.
  • JAC Quarterback #16
It was a monstrous offensive showing from the Jaguars, led by Lawrence and his four passing touchdowns. He opened scoring with a 30-yard touchdown throw to Parker Washington in the first quarter, tossing two more scores in the first half. Lawrence flexed his mobility with a lob on the run to Jakobi Meyers for a 32-yard touchdown in the third quarter. With a comfortable lead, Lawrence rested in the fourth quarter, finishing with a whopping 0.72 EPA per play. Nick Mullens tallied three kneel-downs in relief. Liam Coen’s offense will generate many fantasy opportunities across the board, especially when operating as efficiently as it did Week 1. Lawrence built upon his solid 2025 season with an all-star showing Week 1 against the Browns and should be a low-end fantasy QB1 for Week 2 against a tougher Broncos defense.
  • JAC Quarterback #16
According to ESPN’s Michael DiRocco, Lawrence’s offseason “was about gaining a graduate-level understanding” of coach Liam Coen’s offense. Last season, Lawrence was rehabbing an injury while attempting to change his footwork and adjust to a new play caller. He is now calmer and “can play more freely the way he did in the second half of last season.” Lawrence was the overall QB1 in total scoring from Weeks 9-18. If Lawrence and his pass catchers can carry the momentum into 2026, Lawrence can once again finish as an elite QB1, this time from Week 1 onward.
  • JAC Quarterback #16
The Jaguars didn’t play any starters in last week’s preseason game against the Saints, but Coen said that because they couldn’t do a padded practice on Monday with the Panthers, he may consider playing his starters a bit on Friday in order to get some “good (players) on good (players)” facing one another. If the Jaguars do play their starters this week, it will be their only taste of preseason action, as Coen has already said he won’t be playing them in the third preseason game.

Specifically, Coen said Lawrence “did a really nice job taking care of the football,” perhaps throwing fewer than five interceptions across organized team activities and mandatory minicamp. Lawrence also performed well when “running the whole operation, managing the protections and some of the concepts on the field.” With a year of experience in Coen’s system now under his belt, Lawrence said he feels more confident going through his progressions and is doing “a lot less thinking” as plays are unfolding. Jaguars OC Grant Udinski has been impressed with Lawrence’s recall and his ability to guide teammates through concepts that the team hasn’t practiced in quite a while. Positive reports on the Jaguars’ offense continue to roll in. Lawrence warrants QB1 treatment in 2026.
  • JAC Wide Receiver #3
The Jaguars acquired Meyers via trade in Week 10 last year. He then led the Jaguars in targets (63) and receptions (43) until their season came to a close with a Wild Card Round loss to the Bills. Fellow Jaguars WRs Parker Washington and Brian Thomas Jr. have generated buzz in recent weeks, but Meyers should not be overlooked. He still has a chance to repeat as the team’s target leader this season.
  • JAC Wide Receiver #7
Lawrence found his groove after the team’s Week 8 bye, totaling 20 passing touchdowns, seven rushing touchdowns and seven interceptions. Coincidentally, Coen notes, their “average depth of target went up towards the second half of the season.” Coen wants to “keep pushing that envelope a little bit -– especially with [Lawrence] and BT.” Lawrence and Thomas have put a lot of work into trying to get their timing down this offseason, and Lawrence said, “it’s starting to pay off.” He feels like the two of them are “clicking more and more every day.” That’s great to hear. Thomas’ play dropped off significantly after an explosive rookie season, and trade rumors have swirled around him prior to the 2026 NFL Draft. If he can return to rookie season form, Thomas can smash his ADP this season.
  • PHI Quarterback #1
Jalen Hurts and the Eagles will take on the Jaguars in Jacksonville’s annual trip to London, where they are 7-7 since the 2013 regular season. Hurts, facing internal criticism this offseason following a difficult 2025 campaign, will look to get back on track in the run-heavy Philly offense that last season ranked 13th in EPA per rush, behind the Commanders and Giants. The Jaguars will look to build off a strong 2025 season, Liam Coen’s first as the team’s head coach. The Jags had the fourth best point differential last season, trailing only the Seahawks, Patriots, and Rams.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler Jr. (ankle) is expected to play in Week 6 against the Packers.

JPJ was downgraded to a limited participant in Friday before being hit with the questionable tag, causing some concern about his Week 6 availability. It looks like the light practice session may have been a precaution. The newly-minted Cowboys should be good to go versus Green Bay.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports Tyler Warren (groin) is a game-time decisions for Week 6 against the Titans.

Warren suffered the groin injury during Friday’s practice. He was added to the injury report and listed as questionable for Week 6. Of note, Warren also dealt with a groin injury late in training camp, though he was ready to go for Week 1 and had not appeared on the injury report again until this week. Even if he does suit up, Warren will be at far less than 100 percent. Expect Josh Downs and Keenan Allen to take on more work whether or not Warren is active.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Tyler Shough has two broken bones in his non-throwing hand.

Both Shough and Kellen Moore have given non-answers when asked about the quarterback’s left hand. Per Schefter, the injury could take a couple of months to heal, but it will not cost him any playing time. Shough injured his hand versus the Falcons in Week 4 and wore a protective glove in Week 5. He is coming off his two worst games of the year, though we don’t suspect the hand is to blame. Things get much easier this week with the Giants on tap. Shough will get another shot at a QB1 finish in Week 6.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Joe Alt (neck) is expected to “ramp up” this week.

Pre Rapoport, Alt received good news after seeing a specialist for his neck injury earlier this week. Alt missed last week’s game with the issue and has already been ruled out for Week 6, but this is still a positive turn of events, all things considered. With a Week 7 bye on deck, Alt could be back as soon as the following week when the Bolts take on the Rams.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports the Steelers are “optimistic” Pat Freiermuth (calf) will play in Week 6 against the Bucs.

Freiermuth was added to the injury report on Saturday. The team listed him as questionable for Week 6. A last-minute addition to the injury report is never a good sign, so we wouldn’t be surprised if his snaps are limited even if he is active. On the other hand, with Roman Wilson and Michael Pittman out, the Steelers may have no choice but to play a banged-up Muth more than expected. He will be a high-risk TE2 if active.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Kenyon Sadiq (concussion) is expected to play in Week 6 against the Patriots.

Sadiq left Week 5 with a concussion. He was upgraded to a full practice on Friday and seemingly cleared the league’s concussion protocol over the weekend. With Mason Taylor and Omar Cooper Jr. back for Week 6, there will likely be fewer targets to go around in a Jets offense that has regressed heavily over the past two weeks. Sadiq is a low-end TE2 for his date with New England.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Abdul Carter (groin) is expected to play in Week 6 against the Saints.

Carter got in one limited practice to close the week before being listed as questionable. That would normally make him a coin-flip at best to play today, head coach John Harbaugh was optimistic about Carter’s health early in the week. He is good to go, as is left tackle Andrew Thomas, who is dealing with a groin injury. He has played through the groin issue several times already and will do so again versus the Saints.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Sean Tucker (quad) is not expected to play in Week 6 against the Steelers.

Despite seeing just eight total carries this year, Tucker has two attempts inside the five compared to one for Bucky Irving. Though he isn’t leaving that many total carries behind, Tucker’s absence will still create some extra fantasy value for Irving, who is on the RB1/2 border for Week 6.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Alvin Kamara (back) is expected to play in Week 6 against the Giants.

Kamara played through the back issue last week, though he only saw five touches. He has fallen behind Kendre Miller in the pecking order for carries, and even CJ Donaldson is pushing him for work on passing downs. Kamara is barely an RB4 for Week 6.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Chris Olave (illness) is expected to play in Week 6 against the Giants.

There was reportedly a bug going around the Saints’ locker room last weekend, and Olave seems to have caught the tail end of it. He missed the first two practices of the week but was back on the field for Friday’s session. The team listed him as questionable for Week 6. Barring any further updates, we’re expecting business as usual for the star wideout. He remains entrenched in the WR1 mix for his date with the Giants.
