Emeka Egbuka caught 6-of-9 targets for 38 yards in the Buccaneers’ Week 5 win over the Cowboys, adding 14 yards and a touchdown on one carry.

Egbuka’s nine targets handily led the team on a night undrafted free agent rookie Jalon Daniels attempted only 25 passes. The team also demonstrated an active desire to get Egbuka more involved following a four-target game against the Packers a week ago, feeding him a red zone carry on a jet sweep for his touchdown score. Egbuka remains at the mercy of the team’s lackluster quarterback situation for at least another week, pending Baker Mayfield’s injury. He’ll be a shaky WR3 against the Steelers in Week 6.

Egbuka had been operating as the Bucs’ No. 1 receiver until this game. With Jalon Daniels struggling to get the deep ball going, he opted for easy completions to Cade Otton and Chris Godwin, who combined for 10 catches. Egbuka, in turn, was hung out to dry. He almost saved the day with a touchdown catch, but the throw was low and behind him. Egbuka still had a chance to bring in the pass but couldn’t corral it with a Green Bay defender smothering him in coverage. Egbuka hasn’t topped 64 yards in a game since Week 10 of last year. With Daniles under center for a few more weeks, it may be a while before Egbuka hits triple digits again. He is barely a WR3 for his Week 5 date with the Cowboys.
  • TB Wide Receiver #2
Egbuka once again led the Tampa offense in targets and receptions but did not seem to be on the same page with Baker Mayfield. It’s a recurring theme in the early season that might not be worked out any time soon if Mayfield misses time with a hand injury he sustained in the fourth quarter against Minnesota. Egbuka should remain in lineups even if Jadon Daniels gets a start for the Bucs in Week 4 against Miami. He has 141 receiving yards through three games in the dysfunctional Tampa offense.
  • TB Wide Receiver #2
Egbuka was oh-so-close to a big game but Baker Mayfield remained wildly inaccurate in this one. Mayfield connected with Egbuka for a short score in the first half — the only positive play in the pass game for the struggling Tampa offense. While Cade Otton led the Bucs with six targets, Egbuka remains the team’s clear No. 1 target and should bounce back sooner rather than later. He should remain in all lineups next week against the Vikings.

Bizarrely, Egbuka was not targeted after the break in a game the Bucs trailed 24-10 at the half and 27-10 early in the third. He nevertheless led the Bucs’ wideouts and tight ends in looks, though Bucky Irving led the team with seven. The Bucs were all out of sorts thanks to four lost fumbles, setting up short fields for the Bengals and limiting the Bucs’ overall play volume. The good news is, Egbuka looked healthy and springy. The downtrodden Browns are on tap for Week 2.
  • TB Wide Receiver #2
Egbuka has been trending in the right direction all week after logging full practices on both Wednesday and Thursday. The second-year receiver gets a juicy Week 1 matchup against a Bengals team that was among the worst against the pass last season. While Cincinnati hopes some additions they’ve made on the defensive side of the ball should help turn things around this season, Egbuka will be a solid WR2 this week in what should be a high-scoring game.
  • TB Wide Receiver #2
The Buccaneers had Egbuka take almost a month off to let the toe heal, which turned out to be a great call. The Buccaneers’ No. 1 wide receiver is good to go for Week 1. Nagging injuries slowed Egbuka’s rookie season. Entering 2026 in good health sets the stage for a bounce-back campaign. He is a WR2 with WR1 upside.
  • TB Wide Receiver #2
Egbuka was seen practicing Wednesday ahead of the Bucs’ season opener against the Bengals and Stroud said there were no signs of injury for the second-year receiver, who has battled a toe injury in recent weeks. Barring any sort of setback, Egbuka should be in all fantasy lineups this week against the Bengals in what could be a high-scoring back-and-forth affair with Joe Burrow and company.
  • TB Wide Receiver #11
It’s McMillan, not rookie WR Ted Hurst III, who’s listed as a starter alongside Chris Godwin and Emeka Egbuka ahead of Tampa’s Week 1 game against the Bengals. Hurst, the tallest of the Bucs wideouts, has by all accounts impressed Bucs players and coaches throughout the offseason and should have some kind of role in the team’s passing attack to start the year. It could be a while before Hurst takes on a more prominent role, however. Bucs general manager Jason Licht said last week that Hurst, 22, has “proven to us throughout camp, even OTAs, practice every day that he’s been very, very steady...it’s kind of evolved into okay, we can use him this year and he’s going to play a role.” Hurst can be stashed in deeper fantasy formats for now. McMillan is unlikely to be a factor in the Tampa offense after once again struggling with injuries this offseason.

Egbuka was working with trainers last week, but was on the field with the team on Monday. The Buccaneers won’t release their first official injury report until Wednesday, but it sounds like Egbuka is trending in the right direction ahead of the Buccaneers’ Week 1 game against the Bengals. Egbuka has been dealing with this toe injury since mid-August, but it seems like the Bucs have slowly ramped him up as of late. His practice status will be one to monitor when the first injury report drops. In addition to Egbuka, WR Jalen McMillan and OT Justin Skule were also practicing, while RB Sean Tucker was not seen on the field.

Egbuka has been held out with a lingering toe issue ahead of Week 1. That he’s working to the side today is probably a positive development for the second-year wideout, though we would like to see him practice in full by the end of this week or the start of next week. After a hot start to the 2025 season, Egbuka was almost unusable for fantasy purposes over the season’s final couple months. He’ll look to bounce back in 2026 with a disgruntled Baker Mayfield at full health.

David Montgomery (groin) is questionable to return to Houston’s Week 5 game against the Titans.

He had five carries for 11 yards before leaving in the middle of the second quarter. Woody Marks will handle lead back duties for the moment.

Darius Cooper caught 2-of-3 passes for 71 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles’ Week 5 loss to the Jaguars.

Cooper has been a touchdown magnet this year, scoring three times on five catches before today’s explosion. He broke loose against the Jags in the second quarter with a 62-yard grab. Cooper beat his man deep and his adjustment to the throw, which was thrown back toward the center of the field, put him in open space with a full head of steam. He ran untouched into the end zone. Cooper’s absurd touchdown efficiency can’t be sustained, but he is developing into a meaningful deep threat for a struggling Philly passing attack. He will at least warrant some FLEX consideration if DeVonta Smith remains out for Week 6 against the Panthers.

TreVeyon Henderson exited the Patriots’ Week 5 game with an apparent lower leg injury.

Henderson ripped off a nice 11-yard rush and was tackled low out of bounds. He was slow to get up before being helped to the New England locker room for further evaluation. The oft-injured Henderson was seeing better-than-usual usage before his injury. Rhamondre Stevenson will function as the team’s workhorse back if Henderson once again misses time.

Trevor Lawrence completed 24-of-39 passes for 331 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the Jaguars’ 19-17, Week 5 win over the Eagles.

Lawrence gave fantasy managers what they needed with a solid box score, but he was not the reason the Jags won this game. Lawrence struggled under pressure, throwing one ugly interception while putting the ball on the ground twice via sack-fumbles. Both were recovered by the Jags. The offense was also a catastrophe in the red zone, though a series of penalties and bizarre play calls are largely to blame there. Down by one with eight seconds left, it looked like the team’s struggles on offense would be too much to overcome. Instead, Ameer Abdullah returned a kickoff 53 yards to set up a walkoff field goal from Cam Little. If the Jags can clean things up after an uncharacteristically sloppy game, Lawrence will remain a mid-range QB1 for Week 6 versus the Texans.

Parker Washington caught 6-of-9 targets for 124 yards and two touchdowns in the Jaguars’ Week 5 win over the Eagles.

Coming off a pair of quiet weeks, Washington paid off for fantasy managers early with a 51-yard score in the first quarter. It was somehow nowhere close to his best play of the day. Washington scored his second touchdown on a falling, one-handed grab in the end zone from 27 yards out near the end of the game. The grab was reminiscent of Odell Beckham’s famous touchdown catch. Washington remains the most talented and most involved receiver on the Jags. He will be a high-end WR2 versus the Texans next week.

KC Concepcion suffered a concussion in the first quarter of the Browns’ Week 5 game against the Jets and will not return.

Making a spinning first quarter grab, Concepcion took a high hit from Minkah Fitzpatrick, who was flagged for a personal foul. It was the kind of hit the NFL is trying to legislate out of the game, but it wasn’t necessarily dirty. It was extremely unfortunate, as Concepcion did appear to be briefly out cold. He thankfully made his way to his feet and to the locker room unassisted, but he was ruled out before even undergoing a formal evaluation. He will now be highly questionable for Week 6 against the Ravens. Concepcion’s loss will mean more routes for beleaguered Jerry Jeudy.

T.J. Hockenson suffered a concussion in Week 5 against the Saints and will not return.

Hockenson was slammed into the ground on his first catch of the day. He got up slowly and was immediately checked out by the medical staff. Hockenson was eventually evaluated for a concussion and ruled out. With a bye week on deck for Week 6, Hockenson should be able to return for the team’s next game.

Tyler Steen (shoulder) returned to the Eagles’ Week 5 game against the Jaguars.

Steen left with the shoulder issue earlier in the game and was listed as questionable to return. Fred Johnson took his spot at right guard for a few drives. While the Eagles are still down several key names due to injury, Steen is no longer among them.

Will Shipley (foot) will not return to the Eagles’ Week 5 game against the Jaguars.

Shipley suffered the foot injury in the second quarter and was initially listed as questionable to return. He will now miss the remainder of the contest. Dameon Pierce is the only other running back on the roster with a touch today. Carson Steele is also active.

Michael Carter suffered an abdominal injury in Week 5 against the Jaguars and will not return.

Right guard Tyler Steen is questionable to return with a shoulder injury. Philly came into this game without several key players because of injuries. Now they will be without even more players on both sides of the ball.
