Eagles activate Dickerson’s (knee) practice window

Despite the Eagles’ absurdly lengthy injury report, they only had one player listed as questionable for Week 6. That was center Drew Kendall, who is active. Brown was dealing with an ankle issue earlier this week but was cleared from the injury report on Friday, making him a healthy scratch.

Kendall, the Eagles’ starting center, and LG Landon Dickerson (knee) were both limited on Friday, resulting in questionable game tags. Dickerson remains on injured reserve. The team would need to activate him, if he is going to play. Eagles EDGE Jonathan Greenard (ankle) was cleared to play.

The Eagles’ starting center now has a chance to play in Week 6 against the Panthers. Eagles LG Landon Dickerson (knee) was also limited again, as was EDGE Jonathan Greenard (ankle).

Kendall will leave the center position to practice squad C Jake Majors, who will join Willie Lampkin as Cam Jurgens’ replacement at guard. Just two players who have never started in the NFL before. What could go wrong?

With C Cam Jurgens now a Raven, Kendall is the Eagles’ starting center. Unfortunately, he is not practicing this week, leaving practice squad C/OG Jake Majors as his potential Week 5 fill-in. Potential starting OT Fred Johnson (knee) is practicing.

It’s about the worst-case scenario for an offense with no shortage of change in 2026, with new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion now hit with a substantial blow to his front five. The news comes on the heels of a close Week 1 victory over the divisional rival Commanders, a game that played much closer than expected. Time will tell if Dickerson makes it back to previous form in what could be his final professional season.

Dickerson, a second-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, denied reports that he considered retirement this offseason. “I’m not sure where you guys got that from,” he said. Dickerson, who turns 28 in September, said he’s not really concerned about the toll playing takes on his body. He also admitted he “probably shouldn’t have went out and played” last season after needing meniscus surgery so close to the start of Week 1. Dickerson’s rethinking his approach to pushing through injuries as he has in the past.

Per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Dickerson was set to make $39 million over the next two seasons. That number is down to $36 million, though he can recoup the lost $3 million via 2027 incentives. Dickerson’s contract was previously set to expire in 2028. He is now only under contract through 2027. It’s a relatively minor pay cut for the veteran lineman, and hitting the open market a year earlier could ultimately work in his favor.

Dickerson is just 27, but struggled through a challenging season in 2025 with two missed games while struggling through several games with ankle and quad injuries. He didn’t look right from the jump. Lane Johnson is another retirement possibility for the Eagles, and The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Jeff McLane believes Johnson isn’t sure his body will hold up and he’s “not sure if he’s coming back or not.” The Eagles are set up for plenty of turnover on the offensive side of the ball this offseason and likely will need to target picks on the offensive line even if Dickerson and Johnson return.

The Eagles are resting several of their banged-up starters ahead of a Week 18 showdown against the Commanders. The Eagles have already won the division while the Commanders are already eliminated, so this game will see many reserves play snaps. Expect the bulk of the Eagles’ inactive starters to be back for the playoffs.
