James Cook rushed 21 times for 80 yards and a touchdown in the Bills’ Week 8 win over the Ravens, adding two receptions for 21 additional yards.

Cook paced the Bills on the ground all afternoon, picking up one key first down after another in a game where the offense struggled a bit in the first half. On the Bills’ first possession of the second half, Cook rushed three times for 20 yards, capping the drive with a five-yard rushing touchdown to bring his season total to seven scores on the ground. He exited briefly in the fourth quarter to be evaluated for a concussion, but was able to return. Cook will be in the RB1 conversation next week despite a tough road matchup against the Vikings in Week 9.

Cook had a much-needed bounce-back game in Sunday’s win over the Raiders. A week after he fumbled twice in an overtime win over the Rams, Cook secured the football for all four quarters and broke off multiple explosive plays while handling 22 of the Bills’ 24 running back carries. His lone rushing touchdown came on a three-yard run in the fourth quarter, and came one play after Cook ripped off a 26-yard reception on a third-and-three to keep the chains moving. Concerns about ball security may follow Cook for the remainder of the season, but his role in the Bills’ offense continues to provide valuable production in both real and fantasy football. He will be locked in as an RB1 in Week 8 against the Ravens when the Bills return from their Week 7 bye.
  • BUF Running Back #4
“At some point, there has to be consequences,” Brady said about his lead back, who has fumbled four times in five games this season, including twice on Monday night. Cook has played 67.3 percent of the team’s snaps, and this probably isn’t a threat to his lead back status, but it wouldn’t be surprising if he sat on the bench for a spell if he fumbled in Week 6.
  • BUF Running Back #4
Cook’s elite rushing line was overshadowed by two fumbles, the second of which was a lost fumble on the team’s first possession of overtime, placing the Rams in position to complete the comeback and steal away the victory. A blocked field goal on what would have been the game-winning kick breathed new life into the Bills, who demonstrated confidence in their lead back by throwing him right back out there on the following possession to eventually win the game. The 26 touches go down as a season high for the veteran back, who found paint for the fourth consecutive game in the thrilling overtime win. Cook remains a top-tier RB1 for fantasy purposes ahead of a Week 6 meeting with the Raiders in Las Vegas.

He added two catches for either yards. This game was never more than a one-score game, so it’s pretty shocking that Cook only had 14 touches. The Patriots did a good job containing him early in the game, apart from his touchdown run, but the Bills simply moved away from the running game too quickly. Cook was gaining huge chunk yards in the second half and should have been fed more carries during the game. With the Bills having their second straight mediocre offensive performance, you have to wonder if they will make it a point to lean on Cook more next week against the Rams.
  • BUF Running Back #4
Cook was the only running back to get a carry on the day, and he ripped off over six yards per rush. He got the Bills down inside the two-yard line twice but watched as Josh Allen ran it into the end zone each time. On the third trip deep into the red zone, Cook rushed it in from four yards out. With Ty Johnson back, Cook did cede some passing game work; however, Cook also played 42 of the team’s 62 snaps, compared to just 15 snaps for Johnson. The lack of receiving may prevent Cook from being a top-five running back, but he’s a clear RB1.
  • BUF Running Back #4
Cook jumped out to a scorching start on the ground, reaching the century mark in rushing before the half. Still, fantasy managers were left scratching their head as they watched Josh Allen account for three touchdowns from inside the five, two on the ground and one through the air. It wasn’t until a 22-yard carry that was down at the one late in the fourth quarter that the team rewarded Cook with a short-yardage touchdown, finally allowing fantasy managers their first taste of sweet touchdown copium from their first-round draft pick on the young season. Cook is likely to remain busy when the Bills host the Jets in Week 3, where he will remain a locked-in RB1.
  • BUF Running Back #4
Bills RB James Cook totaled 57 yards on just 13 rushing attempts last week, adding three catches for 12 yards. Per Fowler, the Bills plan to use him a lot more in primetime this evening. Cook can be treated as a locked-in RB1 in what should be a fantasy-friendly game environment on Thursday Night Football. The Bills notably elevated RB Frank Gore Jr. from the practice squad, which could indicate that RB Ty Johnson (hamstring) will be inactive tonight.
  • BUF Running Back #4
Cook had twenty yards on the game’s first drive, but the game eventually skewed pass-heavy for the Bills and Josh Allen had the game’s only two rushing touchdowns. Per PFF’s early charting data, Cook had 41 of the 57 snaps and almost all the work ahead of Ray Davis and Frank Gore Jr. Assuming Ty Johnson remains out on a short week against the Lions in Week 2, Cook will remain a touch-dominator on the RB1 line and will have a chance for a better touchdown runout.
  • BUF Running Back #26
It sure looks like the hamstring strain that Johnson suffered more than a month ago is going to keep him sidelined for the Bills’ season opener against the Texans. Starting RB James Cook was expected to play a larger role in the passing game this year. With Johnson sidelined, Cook could hog passing down snaps.
  • BUF Running Back #26
Johnson went down while running a route on August 9th. He resumed running roughly two weeks ago, but has not yet rejoined his teammates in drills. Although Johnson is not on the fantasy radar himself, he has hogged passing down snaps in recent seasons. Starting RB James Cook has been expected to take on a larger receiving role this season, and Johnson’s potential absence adds credence to that idea.

AJ Barner caught 2-of-5 targets for 23 yards in the Seahawks’ Week 8 loss to the Bears.

Barner is far from fantasy consideration having only one game through eight appearances with more than a modest five targets while failing to notch a single receiving touchdown. Fantasy managers can safely return him to the waiver wire in all formats.

Tory Horton caught 3-of-6 targets for 26 yards in the Seahawks’ Week 8 loss to the Bears.

Horton took more massive hits than he had receptions in this one, with Sam Darnold placing him in harms way on more than one occasion. He was already fighting through nagging injuries entering the contest but gave it a go with Rashid Shaheed ruled out, with this game likely doing nothing to help him in that regard. Despite finishing second on the team in receiving behind alpha Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Horton is not a startable fantasy asset ahead of a Week 9 meeting with the division rival Cardinals.

Cooper Kupp caught 1-of-3 targets for seven yards and a touchdown in the Seahawks’ Week 8 loss to the Bears.

Kupp was unable to take advantage of the absence of fellow receiver Rashid Shaheed but did cash in for his second touchdown of the season. Kupp’s days of consistent fantasy production are long behind him as the Seahawks head into a Week 9 divisional meeting against the Cardinals approaching must-win territory.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught 6-of-11 targets for 118 yards and a touchdown in the Seahawks’ Week 8 loss to the Bears.

Smith-Njigba was the entire offense in the first half, accumulating 92 yards through the air while the rest of the offense managed only two, including his receiving touchdown. Bears defensive coordinator Dennis Allen made adjustments after the break that confined JSN to only 26 additional yards the rest of the way. Smith-Njigba now has seven 100-yard receiving games in eight appearances as he extended his league-leading yardage totals, clear and away the top overall wide receiver in fantasy circles. That position will not change ahead of a Week 9 meeting with the Cardinals.

Zach Charbonnet rushed six times for 23 yards in the Seahawks’ Week 8 loss to the Bears, adding six yards on three receptions.

Charbonnet drew the start but saw four fewer opportunities than rookie Jadarian Price, the latter of whom led the team in rush yards and touches. Expect the two to continue operating in a near-even timeshare moving forward, leaving Charbonnet in shaky FLEX territory ahead of a Week 9 meeting with the Cardinals.

Jadarian Price rushed 10 times for 29 yards in the Seahawks’ Week 8 loss to the Bears, adding eight yards on two receptions.

It was Zach Charbonnet that drew the start for the Seahawks in his first game since tearing his ACL last year, but it was the talented rookie that led the team in opportunities. Price was making his first appearance since hitting injure reserve with a chest injury suffered in Week 2, and while he led the team in yardage and carries, George Holani remained involved in clear passing situations and Charbonnet is liable to see his role continue to grow with each healthy game. Price will be a shaky FLEX option in a better matchup against the Cardinals in Week 9.

Sam Darnold completed 17-of-34 passes for 188 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the Seahawks’ 34-17, Week 8 loss to the Bears, adding 20 yards on two receptions.

Darnold really struggled through consistent pressure from Dennis Allen’s aggressive defensive front as the Seahawks gained just 252 yards of total offense. Things looked manageable in the first half while Darnold leans heavily on alpha wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, feeding his top option for 92 yards before the break. Allen’s second half adjustments all but removed JSN from the offense, holding him to just 26 yards after the break. Week 8 went down as only the third game of the 2026 season in which Darnold threw multiple touchdowns, leaving him outside QB2 range and on waiver wires ahead of a Week 9 meeting with the Cardinals.

Kalif Raymond caught 2-of-3 targets for 14 yards in the Bears’ Week 8 win over the Seahawks, adding 39 yards on one carry.

Raymond’s lone “carry” came on a third-and-long in the fourth quarter in a three-point game, with the play ruled a rush attempt following a slightly backwards toss on a quick swing pass to the perimeter. Raymond did the rest as he turned on the jets for a 39-yard gain to the five, which D’Andre Swift would punch in for the second of his three rushing scores on the evening. Raymond remains unlikely to match his early-season exploits but can be stashed in case of injury to Luther Burden, Rome Odunze, or Colston Loveland.

Luther Burden caught 7-of-9 targets for 56 yards and a touchdown in the Bears’ Week 8 win over the Seahawks.

Burden’s opening drive score was the first touchdown surrendered by the Seahawks on an opening possession in the previous 26 games, finishing tied with tight end Colston Loveland for the team lead in targets while catching the only passing score from quarterback Caleb Williams. He continues to operate as the team’s top option through the air in a role that is most malleable, which can either be concentrated on the short areas against zone or extended in the vertical against man. Burden is a WR2 in a pass-funnel matchup against the Buccaneers in Week 9.

Colston Loveland caught 7-of-9 targets for 65 yards in the Bears’ Week 8 win over the Seahawks.

Five of Loveland’s nine targets came on the team’s first drive as the Bears scored the first opening possession touchdown against the Seahawks in the previous 26 games. He would largely disappear until key receptions in the fourth quarter to extend drives, finishing the game tied with Luther Burden for the team lead in targets and second on the team in yards behind Rome Odunze. Loveland has shaken off an extremely slow start to the 2026 regular season with three consecutive games of at least six receptions and 65 yards. He’ll be a middling TE1 against the pass-funnel Buccaneers in Week 9.
