Sources tell the Associated Press that a decision on the fate of OC Mike Sherman and GM Jeff Ireland could come Thursday.
Owner Stephen Ross reportedly got so upset during the season-ending loss to the Jets that he turned away because he could no longer watch. It’s understandable considering the Dolphins choked away a playoff berth by scoring a total of seven points against a pair of non-playoff teams in the final two weeks. Sherman is considered the most likely man to be fired and the AP says Ireland is in “serious jeopardy” as well. Head coach Joe Philbin is tentatively expected to return for his third season.

Samaje Perine rushed seven times for 25 yards and a touchdown in the Bengals’ Week 16 win over the Dolphins, adding two receptions for 16 yards.
Colts' limitations loom ahead of matchup vs. 49ers
Drew Dinsick and Jay Croucher preview a Monday Night Football battle between the 49ers and Colts, questioning how San Francisco will perform against a depleted secondary and doubting an "untenable" Phillip Rivers.
  • HOU Running Back #21
Nick Chubb rushed six times for 33 yards in the Texans’ Week 16 win over the Raiders
He had a 30-yard carry in the fourth quarter to help the Texans finally break the dam on the run game, which tells you how effective the other carries were. If Chubb can’t manage more than this without Woody Marks, he’s probably droppable in most leagues.
  • ATL Wide Receiver #5
Drake London caught 3-of-8 targets for 27 yards in the Falcons’ Week 16 win over the Cardinals.
London had trouble finding his footing on the Cardinals’ surprisingly slippery field. He slipped and fell while cutting on a comeback route early on, resulting in an interception for Kirk Cousins. On the next dive, Pitts picked up a first down by nabbing a basket catch on an out route, nearly the sideline, but he quickly asked to be subbed out after the play. It was unclear whether this was a conditioning issue or if his knee was experiencing mild discomfort following a multi-week absence. London’s target total is encouraging, but he has not yet returned to pre-injury form. He is a high-end WR2 against the Rams next week.
  • HOU Running Back #26
Jawhar Jordan rushed 15 times for 53 yards in the Texans’ Week 16 win over the Raiders
He added 17 yards on five catches during his only five targets, a performance some are calling “one catch short of a Rex Burkhead.” Jordan got the majority of the carries, but was held just under half the offensive snaps at 30 of 62 per PFF’s early data. It wasn’t particularly impressive, but Jordan was weighed down by a few ghastly Nick Caley calls that were dead on arrival. Jordan will only be a FLEX play next week if he retains this role, but Woody Marks (ankle) probably has a real chance to play in Week 17.
  • LV Quarterback #7
Geno Smith completed 16-of-23 passes for 201 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in the Raiders’ Week 16 loss to the Texans.
Smith opened scoring in the game by firing a pick-six directly to Derek Stingley Jr., but bounced back and put up a viable effort for the rest of the game. He connected with Ashton Jeanty on a wheel route for one score, and found Brock Bowers in traffic in the first half for his other score. Smith remained mostly immobile, but the Raiders were able to chip enough with their tight ends to keep Houston’s pass rush from completely dominating the game. The Raiders take on the Giants in the No. 1 pick bowl next weekend. Smith will be a viable superflex QB2 against New York.
  • ATL Quarterback #18
Kirk Cousins completed 21-of-35 passes for 197 yards, two touchdowns, one interception and one fumble in the Falcons’ 26-19, Week 16 win over the Cardinals, rushing five times for minus-three yards and one touchdown.
Cousins’ one-yard rushing score salvages an otherwise disappointing day in the box score. On the play before, Cousins attempted to connect with LT Jake Matthews in the end zone, on a trick play, but the left tackle dropped the on-target pass. As for the lost fumble, that one is on Falcons TE Charlie Woerner. Woerner was sent in motion pre-snap, but the timing appeared to be off. Warner briefly paused as he neared what appeared to be either a handoff or the beginning of a play-action fake, but instead charged ahead, barreling straight into the mesh point between Cousins and RB Bijan Robinson, knocking the ball out of Cousins’ hands. Cousins is a QB2 against the Rams in Week 17, offering mildly intriguing upside in what could be a fantasy-friendly game environment.
  • HOU Quarterback #7
C.J. Stroud completed 23-of-35 passes for 187 yards and a touchdown in the Texans’ 23-21, Week 16 over the Raiders.
The Texans started off slow in this one, with just six offensive points in the first half while Stroud was off-target and late on a number of throws, particularly while throwing to the sideline. They managed to get things together enough to hold off the Raiders in the second half, but this was not particularly sharp football. Stroud will snap back to the QB2 line in Week 17 in a Saturday matchup against the Chargers.
  • DEN Wide Receiver #14
Courtland Sutton caught 6-of-12 targets for 86 yards and a touchdown in the Broncos’ Week 16 loss against the Jaguars.
Sutton led the Broncos in all receiving categories as he has re-established himself as Bo Nix’s top target over the past few weeks. He now has three touchdown receptions over his past four games (and nearly came down with a second score on Sunday). Against the Jaguars, Sutton had a whopping 223 air yards and a 27 percent target share. Coming off his second 100-yard game of the 2025 season in Week 15, Sutton once again profiles as a locked-in WR2 in 12-team leagues. He’ll be a must-play in Week 17 against the Chiefs.
  • HOU OFFENSIVE TACKLE (SUB) #79
Texans T Aireontae Ersery (hand) left Houston’s Week 16 game against the Raiders and is questionable to return.
He left late in the fourth quarter and was replaced by Blake Fisher. Ersery has had a rough rookie year as Houston’s everydown left tackle, but given the depth on hand here, it would be a loss if he missed multiple weeks. Trent Brown also left the game at the two-minute warning, though he wasn’t given a designation before the end of the game. His status will be worth monitoring.
  • DEN Wide Receiver #13
Broncos WR Pat Bryant was taken off the field on a stretcher in Week 16 against the Jaguars.
Bryant took a massive hit over the middle in the final minute of the Broncos’ loss to Jacksonville. Bo Nix delivered an errant throw and Bryant absorbed a shot to his upper body. He could not get up on his own power, and trainers later put him on a stretcher, loaded him onto a cart, and took Bryant to the locker room for further evaluation. Players from both teams were shaken up, including Bo Nix, who was visibly upset as trainers tended to Bryant, who had five catches for 43 yards before the injury. He would appear to be a long shot to suit up on Thursday against Kansas City.
